My favorite parts of this episode was (A) the way Richard Dawson milked it for drama when they needed 8 points to win, and (B) when they were 1 point away and Gene Wood told Richard he had an important call he needed to take. Kinda reminds me of the way Bob Barker would build up to a climactic moment when he hosted The Price Is Right.
My family LOST twice on this show. Anderson family in 1979 and 81. Is there a way I can go about getting copies? Back in those days...all you got was a polaroid :)

I wouldn't have given eating out for entertainment. In fact, food should have been accepted for that answer.
My guess is someone behind the controls messed up and gave them that answer when they weren't supposed to.
