No disrespect but marry a girl off right after she has her first period, I know girls who got there first period at 10, that is a child no matter how you turn it. And to say she will stray is ridiculous, she is a CHILD. What a shame that this still happens.
Lots of girls get their period at 10. It is weird to marry someone off based on that. Just because you get a period does not mean you need to have sex or kids. I hate when women are reduced to a vagina. God made humans free. Free to choose if you want to have kids or not. No society should impose childbearing on you just because you are fertile. It is sick.

When you say "shameful" are you sure you are talking about what the hindu man said about girls ready to have sex when they have their first menstruations ? (Btw he was speaking about religious text and anciant traditions not about nowadays culture). Because...isn't in the modern western society that girls are taught how to use the pill as soon as they have their periods ? Explain to us this mystery, needing the pill is neccessary for something else than sex ? !!! How quick is the western arrogance to judging others, forgetting their own defects...

One has to always look at where the cultural boundaries come from. There needs to be, I think, a real discernment between human rules and those which are given a divine sanction. This is always invented and as such can be re invented as times change. This does not exclude deep faith but is honest. Those who place themselves in positions of authority always have something to gain from control of others. Every society has some framework for sexuality because it is a strong and sometimes unruly thing. Most of the current religiously oriented frameworks are of masculine origin and women are always at a disadvantage despite the positive attitudes.

Restraint over certain things is can be exercised through religion, but there is no need of religion to know right from wrong.

Agreed! I am a Protestant Christian living in the US and find this example not to be representative at all of our faith and values. There are many of us who believe in purity before marriage and strive to live a life in accordance with faith including honoring marriage and the family structure. I wish that the media would be more representative of the Christian faith instead of perpetuating nothing but stereotypes, either that all Christians are hypocrites or their faith is completely irrelevant to their lives as soon as they walk out of church. At least the media affords other religions the benefit of the doubt that people try the best they can.

The view of this documentry is to show tht the weatern way of consentual sex is ok. But in eastern or orthodox cultures its perceived as a taboo. I honestly feel tht the islaamic view on intimacy in this doc has not been explained in the correct way... Islam is open and very liberal in understanding and dealing with the relationship between men and women.. The quraan has an entire chapter with regards to the laws and freedoms women are allowed. The quraan also clealry defines the manner in which a man can be intimate with his spouse No other relgion explains it so well.
I really urge more ppl to understand there is a difference between culture and the religion of islaam...
How do you know how other world religions treat sex? Have you studied the scriptures of all world religions?? And the religions that have not scriptures, just oral tradition? This is a small planet but there are thousands of religions on it, besides the five or six most widely known. Just saying.

I definitely think that one can combine spirituality, righteousness, honour and goodness with harmless (hopefully enriching) sexual exploration that the constraints of virginal marriage do not allow. Naturally I cannot condemn the faith and adherence to other beliefs, but my earliest question - having been raised in an interesting multi-faith family, but whose parents chose to become Roman Catholic on marrying - is WHY? Should we not revisit doctrines written so long ago, in a different context, for a different audience? Apart from breaking ancient religious taboos, would a man not welcome a woman who has known some physical passion and can assist in making him a better lover as a husband, for example?

I'm not a religious person but I think the use of the term "Believers" in the title would be disputed by those who are rigorously following their faith in many of the examples put forth in this video. Selecting a Liberal Protestant minister who then claims to generalize on behalf of all Protestants in Germany yet what he says deviates from what many German Protestants I know believe. Not a very honest presentation.
I don’t think sexuality needs to be mixed up with religion in this modern age. But, if you live by laws from a book, I guess there is no other way.

In my opinion in all countries, cultures and born in to all faith's there are people that go with the flow and those who have no interests in being burdened by expected standards or norms who just tolerate the religious and their oppressive views on how people " should act and live". The German girl seems like the only one truly enjoying life (though still considers herself devout in her religion), not living under a dictatorship of her parents and culture. We all only have one life to live and, IMO, it should be lived how you see fit for yourself. Not based on a religion, brainwashing, oppressive cultural norms or by men's standards. I know that people are proud of their 'culture', but they don't know anything different, they don't know the true freedom of individuality and learning about what makes them a unique soul, they are enslaved by the concepts of religion, family honor and tradition. If they are happy, so be it. But I also see a lot of uncertainty, sadness and regret in their faces.
So if you live according to your whims, what happens to your pleasure when you die?

I live in America the idea of sexual freedom is good but along with that comes the responsibility of safe sex. That means don't have children if you are not financial independent and mature enough to take the responsibility of having a child. It would be great if woman and men in America would wait to have sex before marriage because marriage is not about sex its a vow and a contract you make with another person.
It used to be that way here in US before the " sexual revolution " of the 1960s. That Is when what was called, Womens Liberation, it was the time when the birth control pill was introduced, and women could then be as sexually active as men, without worry of unwanted pregnancy, more women decided to not become housewives as their mother's and grandmothers before them. Many decided to have careers and the same equality as men.Personally I think that the pill changed alot for women, in that they could choose when and how many Children they wanted. Religions of course have their own rules.

As a genuine Born Again Christian who has been completely justified and redeemed by the mercy of God for all my past, present and future sins by my faith and belief in Jesus Christ alone and making HIM the Lord of my life- it was very disappointing not to see the one true saving faith of the Gospel of Jesus Christ represented. A true Christian lays down their former life and follows GOD’S precepts out of honor and respect and reverence and love knowing that they are not worthy of His grace and desiring to become more and more like Christ in their Christian walk. There is no room for your own wants and selfish desires. That’s what it means to love God and making His son the Lord of your life. She it’s not a Christian-she is deceived and I truly hope and I will pray for her that in God‘s sovereignty that she has a true experience with God through Christ, repents and is worthy of such a privilege to trust and truly be a witness for Christ✝️🙌🏾✝️

The German girl strikes me as odd in general, she looks like she's crying all the time. I thought it was nervousness in front of the camera at first, but then she looked the same even when she was with her friends. This is merely an observation. The fact that she proclaims to be a religious person is highly hypocritical. She is free to think and believe what she wants, but in reality she merely believes in a higher power, she isn't following her faith, nor any other religion.
The Turkish girl was an interesting mix of cultures. Clearly an intelligent, highly educated and wealthy individual with free will, yet surprisingly pious. This is actually rather rare, contrary to what some may think. I felt she was likeable, until she hinted at what others should and shouldn't do. Still left me with good vibes, I'd bet money on her being a genuinely good person.
The Israeli couple seemed like a perfect match. Rarely does one see people so connected. The slightly older lady with the candles was right on point, a great way of explaining things her way.
The Indian fellow was difficult to connect to. A very colorful wedding and he seemed a happy camper. I have no idea what she thought of it. The people eating off their plates with their hands seemed unhygienic and rather crude. It is however a cultural thing, as is their public burping and spitting.

It’s no where mentioned in Hindu texts to marry off a girl after her first periods. The reason is was started was to protect young girls from Moghul abductors. This is not a typical Indian marriage. First of all there is no typical Indian since India is the most diverse nation on the planet. However, most educated Indians marry in arranged marriages and the parents note if the boy and girl are compatible under supervision only. Thus virginity is a must in every marriage. Only to a degree in Punjab western influence has permeated but this has not taken over Punjab either. Sex before marriage is extremely uncommon in most regions of India. India is a time-tested and solid civilization does not imitate others. Bollywood does not reflect India it has strong Punjabi and Jewish influence of Hollywood. Also 95 percent Indians marry in their own caste.
