Omgosh, youve gotta watch part 2 (out Wednesday). I was walking the streets alone at night, riding a bike at night. After spending some time in Jamaica alone, which is very scary, Mexico was nothing in comparison. The only people i feared were the policia, because I know they can be corrupt.
Reserved it on Expedia ahead of time, with a random Mexican company, and couldn’t find the rental place at the airport. Luckily, Hertz and Enterprise & Thrifty all have counters at the airport and will shuttle you down the street to their actually offices. I just took the offer they gave me, and had a vehicle within 30 minutes! I do have insurance on my credit card, but I went with their full coverage, just to be safe. Also I had absolutely no issues driving there, and I would absolutely do it again!

Yes, dropped off in Tulum and I believe I paid approx $70 Canadian ! Not bad when we split it 4 people.
