You do not need a fox or rockshox fork for a beginner bike that’s just not true. I’ve ridden my sr suntour 120mm fork for 2 years and sent some big jumps, just because it says suntour on the fork doesn’t mean it’s going to snap.
I agree with you. I like sr suntour and their simplicity and affordability. If you have a brand new bike with sr suntour, they are handling great. However, from my experience, the cheap bikes I had bought before with sr suntour, the forks had always been shot. My point is that if you are looking for a used bike and the price is low, having a rockshox or fox fork is a bonus.
