People buy from people they know and trust. You must build that relationship and be there by going the extra mile for them. I sold Heavy Duty Truck Parts for 35 years. And truck shops and companies are some of the hardest people. The year I retired I sold $175 million in parts. And I fished or golfed every week and tournaments twice a month.

So the pitch is either (1) start/own your own business (be your own boss/content creator and make your own rules) or (2) do some type of high-dollar work in the trades fields (construction, roofing, lawn-care/maintenance work, etc.) to make a decent living AND have enough flexibility to have the time off you need to actually travel and fish......so basically, anyone who pursues any type of corporate job (finance, HR, marketing, engineering, etc etc) at any corporate entity doesn't have even the slightest chance of pursuing fishing at the pro level? Because while you would certainly earn enough money to afford to live & fish holding down a corporate job, what corporate job or company out there would allow one of their Full Time cogs to take off 9+ weeks of time off to fish a full Bassmaster Opens Schedule (even if the time off was a mix of paid AND unpaid time off)??? If any one knows of any corporate job or company that would be okay with and allow that, please shoot me a message!

There’s plenty of corporate jobs that you can absolutely make enough money after years of working up the chain. But even then once you’ve worked your ass off to be able to afford life more than likely your not gonna have the time. The way I see it options 1 and 2 are your best bet at fishing.

@@austincranfordfishing Right. I seriously doubt anyone 30 years old or younger (with the exception of extreme outliers) working any type of corporate role would have anywhere near the amount of time off needed available to them in order to fish 9 Bassmaster Opens. Just doesn't work that way. If you are extremely lucky, you'd work at a corporation (of any size) that is progressive with time off policies and offer 20-30 days off MAX. Any corporate monkey would need at least 45 days off per year (5 x 9). And frankly even that wouldn't do it as one would likely need more time off to travel back to there shit company/boss. So over the course of 9 events, tack on I'd say at least another 10-15 days. Most people in the US work for a company or corporate business and have to live within the rigid structures and rules their company makes. The options I outlined are literally anyone's only chance of making it work, other than being inherently wealthy from their family (Daddy's $$$$) and not needing to work at all, let alone on a full time schedule. Many people (myself included) live in the sad reality that even though we are good anglers and could potentially afford to fish, just don't have the flexibility, freedom, or time necessary to do it....

@@kylerichardt3551 that’s why I wanted to put out this video gotta have the time and gotta have the money. Theres more than one way to skin a cat but this is the way I’ve done it to make it possible. Figured it would give some college kids or a guy that hates his corporate job some ideas.

@@austincranfordfishing Appreciate the video, but the overwhelming majority of people will never be able to be their own boss, produce enough good content to the point it provides them a sustainable living, be a "good" salesman/marketer, or will want to / be willing to put in the work necessary to make it in the trades. Just the reality of it for too many who have the passion for fishing and the dream. This goes hand in hand as to why there was such an uproar from "working man" anglers when BASS announced the full 9 Open qualification path to the Elites. I get BASS wants their anglers to be prepared for what they may have to do if they are lucky enough to make it, but by doing so, BASS cut so many people out from be able to pursue the Elites. I'm not sure how long the full 9 Opens qualification path will end up lasting.....would not be surprised if they changed it in the next 3-5 years

If your under 24 and you drive a 80K boat and truck, Mom and Dad used your collage money to get you started plain and simple. Everyone puts a sponsors name on their shirts for 10, 15, 25 percent off and sometimes free lol Fifteen years ago you got paid to wrap your truck and boat now everyone wraps their boat because they get free products or a discount. Most pay for their wraps or at least half to put a company logo wrap on their truck and boat. If they made a law where you must be paid by a company to wrap your stuff, 95 percent of the boats and trucks wouldn't have a wrap lol RUclips is the way of the future, fishing abilities and skill is walking out the door. Good luck to you all!

Like I tell everyone, if you wanna fish professionally buy rental property. I have the money to fish the elites every year without a sponsor but have no desire too . At one time I had the desire but not the means ,and now that I have the means , I do not have the desire. You guys with sponsors are essentially selling your souls . My time is not for sale . Too be honest the most logical way to make a living fishing is guiding on salt water and fishing commercially rod and reel .

I was just saying the same thing if you want to make money as a pro just because a guide. I know several guides that have more money then KVD as a fisherman. The fishing world is was Saturated with pro fisherman back in the day when I was a kid. If I saw fancy boat, that’s wrapped a pro fisherman. I got excited I wanted to talk. I wanted an autograph I was so happy to see the bass masters, nowadays there’s nothing special about being a pro fisherman, they make it too easy to call yourself a pro. The magic days of fishing is long gone

There are no Pro Fisherman. All of them pay entry fees just like me..
There are Pro Golfers, and other sports. Here's what a Pro Golfer pays for entry fees; 'Except at the highest levels, professional golfers must pay entry fees to play in tournaments. It may seem counterintuitive, but a player at the top of golf’s food chain often doesn’t have to pay an entry fee, because expenses for high-profile tournaments are covered by sponsors and TV networks.'
This ain't fishin'.. Until the top tier levels do this, yall just gamblers...
