I am convinced Ghost Rider, when it comes to dealing with villains, is the most OP character ever. I mean he killed Galactus just by using the penance stare.
Scorpion isn't a villain but he's not hero either (until MKX came).
Scorpion went to Hell when he died so Ghost Rider could definitely use hid penance stare effectively. You don't have to be pure evil, just evil enough to go to Hell.
Jack Mehoff you clearly don't know anything about scorpion, he was never evil to begin with and when he died he didn't go to hell, he was resurrected in the netherrealm (aka hell) by Quan chi and only served Quan Chi as his enforcer because he lied to Scorpion about the murderer of his family and clan being Sub-zero (Bi-han the original).
Scorpion's goal has always been vengeance for the deaths of his family and clan in both the original and new timeline. He never goes around killing a bunch of innocents for the heck of it because that's not his character. When he discovers the truth about the murderer he immediately starts hunting Quan chi and his allies (who are all pure evil) and his actions mostly benefit the good guys. Everyone that Scorpion has killed were combatants NOT innocents and majority of them were bad so Ghost Rider wouldn't condemn Scorpion as a bad guy but a tortured soul who wants justice for his family and clan.
Now Noob Saibot on the other hand, Ghost Rider wouldn't be so forgiving on him since Noob Saibot was once the original Sub-zero and has committed dark deeds for the Lin Kuei whom were bad guys looong before the Younger Sub-zero took over and reformed the clan for good. So in the end Scorpion is basically a ninja version of Ghost Rider and both of them have a few things in common.

I don't understand why people are triggered. The only reason I'm triggered is why would they put scorpion against an opponent that can defeat him within seconds. I like both MK and Marvel, but this fight was obvious of who's going to win. Next time, they shouldn't put a person against an opponent who doesn't come close to be evenly matched

Alright, I've seen some people say that the Penance Stare wouldn't work on Scorpion because "He regrets nothing."
That isn't what the Penance Stare is based on. It's based on "has this person committed sin" not "does this person regret his sins". I highly doubt Galactus, who eats planets to survive, regrets the things he's done and Ghost Rider can turn him into a sniveling baby with one stare.

Actually, Scorpion is a wraith, a corrupted soul who can wander multiple realms. So he can be pennant stared. GR has survived a planet and a sun colliding together, has taken out Angels, demons, wraiths, and the devil himself, and has once held galacticus, an entity who eats planets, using just his chains.

Ghost Rider should definitely be the winner 7/10 times they fight. Scorpion does have a chance though. He's more experienced, better at fighting, and teleportation. On the other hand, Ghost Rider has insane durability and strength, and it's been said that he can take down World Breaker Hulk. Plus, Ghost Rider can only be hurt with heaven-forged weapons. Scorpion would just get outmatched in the end
I think we *all* know the only way World Breaker Hulk is going down to Ghost Rider. While that would indeed kill, or at the very least incapacitate the Hulk, that's only if Ghost Rider gets that attack off.
Zman Powell ghost riders penance stare is also a huge factor. No way scorpion could get around that.
Scorpion doesn't have a chance, the only ones who think he does are those who don't know GR's comics. Teleportation and such means nothing, GR can open portals to teleport as well as Zarathos was doing it for Alejandra. Fighting experience means nothing as well as physical attacks do nothing to GR other than piss him off. GR would be the winner 10/10 times..Go look up Zarathos's rampage in the Uncanny Avengers Annual to see how out of his league Scorpion would be

Haha, yeah, Ghost Rider is kind of an unfair opponent, especially for Scorpion to be fighting. He doesn't take physical injuries, he can't die, and fire is already kind of his thing.
It's more or less just a bad match-up for poor Scorpion.

Ghost Rider possesses the supernatural ability to cause any individual who stares into his eyes to see and feel every bit of pain they have ever inflicted on anyone in their entire lifetime, emotionally and physically, leaving them in a catatonic state afterwards if the victim has caused enough pain. that being said when scorpion was technically stunned and unable to move feeling an immense, massive amount of pain from alll the people he has slain and killed, (which is a whole bunch), that rendered him useless to try to retaliate, ghost rider ended it.

They could always just have it take place on a different Earth, since the planet was doomed by the end of Eggman vs Wily yet fights kept happening.

That has to be one of the nicest looking Scorpion sprites I have ever seen. It's like the perfect conversion from the live-action capture to an animated sprite style, while still retaining the overall style and aesthetic of the traditional Mortal Kombat sprites. The artist who made it deserves a nice Christmas bonus! :D

Well it's a pretty bad example but take super sonic who is temporally completely invincible so the penance stare wouldn't work it all depends on the character
+Alfie Moss Super Sonic is a TERRIBLE example. There is no cases where soul-stealing/burning was used on him, so there is no way for you to know if it would work or not. Considering Robotnik was able to defeat Super Sonic with a simple mechanical trap, I see no reason why Penance Stare wouldn't have an effect (considering all the times Sonic left Tails behind, he'd have plenty to burn for).

Scorpion and most of the MK Universe are ridiculously overrated. People love to throw out how ridiculously powerful Scorpion is but in truth, Scorpion isn't even anywhere near top tier in terms of MK Lore.
He has been beaten and controlled and defeated repeatedly by the likes of Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, the 2nd Sub Zero who themselves are not as powerful as the likes of Raiden, Shao Khan and Shinook.
Scorpion is at best on the same tier as Kung Lao and Liu Kang in terms on lore.
Forgot to add Quan Chi to justify the "controlled" segment of my comment. That said, Quan Chi is a weak fighter but strong sorcerer all things considered.

Well I just thought of the scenario (and there blades can actually cut almost anything with simple ease and have multiple abilities to help them in combat. Like Raidens Ripper mode and Shulk's monado arts are an sample of this) due to Raiden being cyborganic shulk will mistaken him for a mechon and it won't help if some of his friends where losing to him as well (kinda like flash vs sonic) then the two will fight but I really want to see those two fight against some mechon as a end sence maybe metal face and Armstrong. I just want to see the fight happen

remember Shulk can see future events and he has his monado arts. He can keep block his strikes with monado shield. Be much faster with moando speed. not only that his purge, buster, monado armor and his normal and other arts I did not mention can make him a worthy foe to Raiden
The first time I saw this, I thought Ghost Rider was just a video game character in a racing game. I never knew at the time that he was one of the most powerful Marvel characters, so I was really surprised at the time that he destroyed Scorpion. I was cheering for him though to avenge Ryu and Ken’s defeats to them though.
“No research” is accurate. The penance stare doesn’t work on someone who doesn’t have a soul. Until Hanzo reclaims his humanity, his soul is out of the question.
