Hyurno i think the main problem is that you had all this Seriousness and such from the elite four battles then THIS is the final battle theme. It is SO out of place for what the matches showed before hand and, while the music is good and fits iris's character, does not fit with the rest of the elite four. They could have made someone else be the elite four like Hugh, we haven't had a rival champion battle in a long time.

The elite four represent the best of the best (in the Game not in Real life of course) and should be treated as a serious matter. The fact it's for fun has no baring on how undertones are USED and being serious doesn't hurt it slightly. Don't use the "but you're suppose to play for fun" argument when the serious undertone is for Immersion factor.
Iris is so underrated. It's a Shame really, everything about her battle is just epic. The theme, the battle scene, her team, her 'VS' intro. And this theme DOES suits her. Because she's just a little girl after all.

Yep!!! When I fought her I didn't bring an ice type, I had my starmie with ice beam but the reason I didn't bring an ice type is because I wanted to fight her with a challenge.... If I brought an overlevelled vanilluxe I would sweep her team but that's no fun so I took her on and had fun with a close battle.
Iris in the anime was annoying at times (the whole unova anime was pretty flawed looking back), but I do like her character a lot in general. Like some people have said, her being annoying is part of her charm. There's just something endearing about a small town girl who's 16-18 in the games becoming the champion of the region through sheer dedication and love for her team, even beating out Alder.
It was nice when Misty did it when ash started off because she was in fact a responsible person and also a gym leader so she knows what she is talking about. Iris on the other hand, but the fact that she keeps disrespecting him like that when Ash had so much more experience under his belt at the time... it felt so undeserved when she was pretty much a noob... it was absolutely pathetic and narcissistic on her part... nothing charming about that. Game Iris was cool
BW2 was a lot tougher than ORAS, without the friendship boost and the wide range XP-Share you would barely get to the same level as the next gym leader... You know... Unless you fought herds of 'certain' wild pokemon...

this song really has a different vibe. It perfectly mixes the "fight of your life" and "have the time of your life" vibes of pokemon battle music and i couldn't have asked for a better sendoff for pokemon's 2D era
I feel like this song was gamefreaks send off to the DS. It embodies everything about the DS era of Pokemon. With the darker parts in the intro symbolizing the backlash RSE got and then the song slowly becomes happier signalling gen 4's arrival, gets dark again to symbolize Gen 5's backlash, only for them to rise up and bath in the glory of gen 5 phase 2, and saying goodbye to their best friend. I will miss you Nintendo DS.

Aside from being pleasantly surprised that she was a Gym Leader in White (Even though I played Black) I was really surprised that Iris was the champion. I was pumped up by the music, with utter confidence when I battled her. After I defeated her, I thought: You know what? This girl is full of surprises. Next thing you know, in a future game, she'll appear again and surprise you even more than the last time. O_o
I think it would have been cool if Iris was champion in White 2, but Drayden was champion in Black 2. But then again, who would be the Gym leader for Opelucid town? Also, do you know WHY Iris was even champion in White? I don't. I think it's cool, but what made Drayden not be able to fulfil his Gym leader role? Sorry, I haven't played White in over 2 years!

Drayden was likely representing the Opelucid Government, which was why there was a bumbling city in Black. for me it was medium because i only had 4 pokemon but 2 of them had dragon moves and 1 is mysthical serperior level 61 move:dragon tail lucario level 59 move:dragon pulse zoroak level 60 move:night slash genesect level 61 move:signal beam
My team was Serperior, Lucario, Krookodile, Azumarill, Chandelure and Tranquill (tranquill did nothing in the battle) and she was relatively easy Some parts were challenging but overall she wasn't hard to beat

This was by far the scariest battle in my White 2 Nuzlocke. Even though Hydreigon went down to a bug gem boosted megahorn from my Scolipede (Wormy Worm) and most of the rest of her team fell victim to my boltbeam Clefable (Cosmo). Either way, Iris definitely struck fear in my heart when I finally went to face her. Also the music was perfect for the final battle :)

When I heard this after struggling through the Elite Four with my team, I was like "Oh, my God... This is it." as a kid haha. It blew my mind, what a perfect way to end a perfect game.
Pokemon ends here. Simply, Black and White and its sequels are the perfect Pokemon's installments. Our mistake in not evaluating them in their time is a thousand mobile games and an incomplete main game.
These games represent the masterpiece of gamefreak.... The hardwork they put into gens 1-4 got justified in gen 5.... The gen 5 was the perfect games and the perfect send off..... The animations of pixel arts, story, difficulty(i am looking at you Caitlin and your focus-blasting Reuniclus), characters, graphics memories and fun; each one of them are perfected in Black and White and its sequels. The title may be Black and White but the games sure are colorful...
Sadly....gamefreak now just look at what they gain upon the games and not what they could give....they can still make good games like ORAS or Let's Go but in a sense, they won't make perfect games like Black and White anymore...
This theme isn't a "end of trip badass music" like was the theme of practically every other champion until now. Here, you saved unova from team plasma, you met with very touching persons, you just beated your eternal rival in a very important fight, you just beated the very tough elite 4... You have nothing left to accomplish except from finally beating Iris and becoming champion. And then, you are greated by this. It's just like Iris herself just screamed "you have come through the longest adventure so far. Now, just ... Have fun !" Best league battle ever

I like this champion theme the most because unlike the other themes that really put the pressure on you to win, this one is an exciting and upbeat one! It's as if this song is rooting for both sides to do their very best and have fun! As I was battling her, I got excited a little.
Listening to this is making me feel so sad. I started playing White 2 again this weekend after 1 year of not playing it, and seeing my old battle team was so good! I then found out the wireless trading and communications had been discontinued, and it's such a shame! This game is only about 2 years old! Also, I don't have a 3DS either so I feel disconnected with the rest of the Pokemon series. I wish they still made Pokemon for the DS systems :(
To me B2W2 almost felt like GF's swan song, especially when compared to XY and what we know of ORAS. I really hope ORAS will deviate from XY's mediocrity despite looking scarily like it.

I actually love this theme. It really personifies Iris and the Champion battle as a whole. Think about it. You can be happy and feel a joy that you and your Pokemon are actually strong enough to have come so far. Plus, Iris is a bouncy motherfocka. That's the happier, more upbeat segments. Then... this IS the champion battle. And she's a flippin Dragon trainer. Don't be fooled. Shnitz is real in this fight.
Ghetsis Hydreigon was a fearsome ace that could single handedly tear unprepared teams apart, one Pokemon at a time. ...And that's the Pokemon Iris *starts* with.
I remember I wanted to defeat the league, I stocked up on Revival herbs. I didn't check on the internet to see what level her Pokemon were and I was getting my butt kicked when it came to Iris. However, when I realized I wouldn't be able to beat her Haxorus because of her stat based move, I kept reviving my Pokemon. Eventually, Haxorus ran out of pp on all of its moves.. >:) Hehehehe!
I won similarly to Cynthia. For me it took forever, and I literally had a nightmare about it because of how painful and scary it was to sit through reviving. I don't regret a thing though :3

I've played since Generation 1 and I indeed have alot of nostalgia directed towards it, but I can honestly say this theme is slowly crawling up on my list to be one of my favorite champion themes.
This theme is different from the others... it's like, instead of making you feel kind of intimidated by the enemy, it makes you feel excited that you're battling the champion. Where the other games I played were "behold, the champion!" this one (and to a lesser extent, Alder's theme) is like "OMG it's the champion!" It makes sense, considering how excitable Iris acts at times.

This was by far the scariest battle in my White 2 Nuzlocke. Even though Hydreigon went down to a bug gem boosted megahorn from my Scolipede (Wormy Worm) and most of the rest of her team fell victim to my boltbeam Clefable (Cosmo). Either way, Iris definitely struck fear in my heart when I finally went to face her. Also the music was perfect for the final battle :)

Pokemon ends here. Simply, Black and White and its sequels are the perfect Pokemon's installments. Our mistake in not evaluating them in their time is a thousand mobile games and an incomplete main game.
These games represent the masterpiece of gamefreak.... The hardwork they put into gens 1-4 got justified in gen 5.... The gen 5 was the perfect games and the perfect send off..... The animations of pixel arts, story, difficulty(i am looking at you Caitlin and your focus-blasting Reuniclus), characters, graphics memories and fun; each one of them are perfected in Black and White and its sequels. The title may be Black and White but the games sure are colorful...
Sadly....gamefreak now just look at what they gain upon the games and not what they could give....they can still make good games like ORAS or Let's Go but in a sense, they won't make perfect games like Black and White anymore...
This theme isn't a "end of trip badass music" like was the theme of practically every other champion until now. Here, you saved unova from team plasma, you met with very touching persons, you just beated your eternal rival in a very important fight, you just beated the very tough elite 4... You have nothing left to accomplish except from finally beating Iris and becoming champion.
And then, you are greated by this.
It's just like Iris herself just screamed "you have come through the longest adventure so far. Now, just ... Have fun !"

This theme embodies everything I love about gen 5, my favorite generation
I like this champion theme the most because unlike the other themes that really put the pressure on you to win, this one is an exciting and upbeat one! It's as if this song is rooting for both sides to do their very best and have fun! As I was battling her, I got excited a little.
Listening to this is making me feel so sad. I started playing White 2 again this weekend after 1 year of not playing it, and seeing my old battle team was so good! I then found out the wireless trading and communications had been discontinued, and it's such a shame! This game is only about 2 years old!
Also, I don't have a 3DS either so I feel disconnected with the rest of the Pokemon series. I wish they still made Pokemon for the DS systems :(

To me B2W2 almost felt like GF's swan song, especially when compared to XY and what we know of ORAS. I really hope ORAS will deviate from XY's mediocrity despite looking scarily like it.

I remember I wanted to defeat the league, I stocked up on Revival herbs.
I didn't check on the internet to see what level her Pokemon were and I was getting my butt kicked when it came to Iris. However, when I realized I wouldn't be able to beat her Haxorus because of her stat based move, I kept reviving my Pokemon.
Eventually, Haxorus ran out of pp on all of its moves.. >:) Hehehehe!
It was a louzy win, but I'm not complaining! >:}
I won similarly to Cynthia. For me it took forever, and I literally had a nightmare about it because of how painful and scary it was to sit through reviving. I don't regret a thing though :3

Unpopular opinion: Pokemon should have stayed 2D.
Don't think its wrong if the people currently working on it doing a not so great job with the 3D stuff they are given an option to. Or just Nintendo not giving them more staff and a bigger time space so they can develop the game(s) with more care instead of giving us nearly every year a new fullgame with results that are unsurprising with that kinda development time.
B2W2 were a good sendoff of the DS era. Plus, X and Y aren't that bad.

I've played since Generation 1 and I indeed have alot of nostalgia directed towards it, but I can honestly say this theme is slowly crawling up on my list to be one of my favorite champion themes.

This theme is different from the others... it's like, instead of making you feel kind of intimidated by the enemy, it makes you feel excited that you're battling the champion. Where the other games I played were "behold, the champion!" this one (and to a lesser extent, Alder's theme) is like "OMG it's the champion!" It makes sense, considering how excitable Iris acts at times.
