    We're cabbage farmers.
We fry cabbage, chop, onions, chop garlic, in a big fry pan, add maybe 1/8 cup of water, cover n let the magic happen, no fail. It browns as the sugar from the cabbage caramelized.
Devour wit smashed taters n chops or sausages.

I'd like to try this, maybe add some shredded carrots.
I wanted to edit. I made this last night, with the shredded carrots and it was delicious! I don’t eat a lot of cabbage because it makes me gassy. 💨 Sorry t.m.i. 😂 anyway, I’ve surprisingly had no issues this time so maybe this is the way for me to eat more cabbage! Also, like others I was taught to just pull off the outer leaves, no need to wash cabbage, especially after it’s been cut up like this. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Egg plant , cauliflower , broccoli and cabbage were suddenly high on my list .I like lightly steamed cabbage and carrots with a little salt and pepper aside my chicken teriyaki as much as the chicken . That was never even close to being true before . Do you thinkits just boredom with what I ate exclusively for so many years or is it true , like they say , that tastes change with age ?

Well done. This is called Bubble'n'Squeak and Europe and Australia ate it all through WW2 because there was no meat. You can cook it in one pot too, if you're smart, because my Grandmother had to watch the fuel rationing. It's also pretty bad, and that's why, after the war, it became a breakfast side for most people who wanted to eat it, and then disappeared after war rationing.

Don't use olive oil, use avocado oil if you can find it. Olive oil is ok if first pressing off the shelf but Sams club doesn't like me cooking in the store.

Huh, that's bubble and squeek. Mum used to make them in the 1970s and 1980s out of the leftover veg from the day before. I still make them myself today, but I dip them in egg then a breadcrumb mix with smoked paprica before frying them.

When you boil it and then squeez loses all flavor and nutrients. Sorry but I would not prepare it this way. I love cabbage and there are way too many better and easy ways to eat it without taking all the good in it and soaking it with oil...

I'm Polish and really like cabbage. I just finished making this recipe with a few slight modifications. I added more fresh garlic (as I really like garlic), about half a teaspoon of ginger powder and onion powder and 1 small grated carrot. End result: mediocre. If I were to make this recipe again, I would add another fried onion and fried meat such as Polish sausage. In my opinion, adding fried meat to this recipe would boost the flavour tremendously.
