I know he criticized it, but I think the recording of this song (from the play of the same name), along with Todd Rundgren's brilliance on "Bat," of course, is what inspired Jim Steinman to produce his future hits with such "over-the-top" flair. The music from the play was great, but this production made a great song even better...and remember that this was still 3 years before Meat and Jim has a record deal, before they went to record "Bat" with Todd! 😲😎😉👍
