Cartoon Network - Coming Up Next Bumpers (Powerhouse Era)

- My first major video in a year, wow..
I once considered Cartoon Network as my favorite channel. Nowadays, it's just another channel that I mainly watch for Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry. Yet I am given a few treats every now and then (Cartoon Planet, The Looney Tunes Show, etc.) The "Powerhouse" era, however, is definitely my favorite era of Cartoon Network.
This is one of the main reasons it was called the "Powerhouse" era, simply because many of these bumpers used Raymond Scott's well-known instrumental theme called Powerhouse, made popular by various Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts that used the theme for assembly lines. these created by Primal Screen and either featured the song or a rendition of it based on the event that took place. (such as the a chorus playing when the Next sign is sent to heaven, the song being used as elevator music, or even in a desert). These bumpers were very unique, as multiple bumpers came in different colors depending on what time the show aired or an event that occured. Yellow/light orange was used in the morning, Green was used around noon or during the afternoon, Purple (usually shown before Toonami or late at night) meant the cartoon that you were about to watch were action cartoons, blue, the one I saw the most, was used during the evening/night, usually after Toonami and dark blue/black was used at or past midnight.
Unfortunately as time passed, the Powerhouse music was removed from bumpers, presumably for licensing/copyright reasons. As a result, it was eventually phased out for the divisive "City" era.
I managed to dig up videos from most known places on RUclips and I want to do similar videos with other components of this era of Cartoon Network. If anyone can make this longer without using UK/LA bumpers or "camera-quality", I'll be impressed.
I'll admit, I was a bit sad when this was replaced by the CN City era. But, now, looking back on it, I miss the entire old age of Cartoon Network.
❤😂😢😅
This is very well put together. Like someone's tape of several days of time-period Cartoon Network. Kudos, dude.
.....Smh...The Best Era Of Cartoon Network Ever 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾...I Miss The 90's Soooooo Much😔🙏🏾...God I Love These Bumpers✊🏾
"Yes Thanks For Taking Me Back To My Elementary School Years With This Throw Back It's Too Bad They Don't Make Cartoon T.V. Shows Like This Anymore."
I'm a nostalgia trip right now Cartoon city and now this!
OMG Nostalgia Overload!! I can't take it!! LMAO
Your brain is now entering self-destruction mode. Self-destruction in 3...2.....1.
What I miss most about this Era is back then I didn't have cable so I didn't know what came on at what time. During this Era, they always showed you what was coming up next. Not to mention, Fridays were the shit.

misterkyler, that's a bad word!
One thing that I didn't notice about these bumpers until I watched all these compilation videos is that, for the most part, the background was color-coded for the time of day in which they would air.
Bumpers with the yellow background would air in the morning
Bumpers with the green background would air in the afternoon
Bumpers with the blue background would air in the afternoon and the evening
Bumpers with the black background would air during late night (12 AM to 6 AM)
Thejunglebook
How have I not noticed that??
One key detail is that the blue background would also be on all day on weekends
Now this was the true face of Cartoon Network
Yes Siiiir!!! Most Definitely...Gotta Miss The 90's...🙏🏾

I feel the same way about Disney Channel and Nickelodeon as I grew up with all three channels; although I didn't start watching Disney Channel until the early 2000s because I watched Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon most of the time back then. I do, however, remember watching Disney's One Saturday Morning back in the '90s.
I'm 20 now and I remember all of this shit.

Who else misses the checkerboard logo?
I don't miss it. The third/current Cartoon Network logo has two forms: one only having the CN letters and one being close to the checkerboard logo.

God I remember this stuff. I feel old already... and I'm only 19!
In the early days television with something the people would always enjoy but now the only thing we can enjoy is counting our brain cells as they die one by one
You are not alone...
i wish i was 19 again! i'm 25 now
***** I'm 19 as well (born in early '96) and I very clearly remember the Powerhouse Era of Cartoon Network like it was yesterday, personally my favorite era. Throughout the entire years of 2001, 2002, and 2003 was my Powerhouse experience. Summer 2001 through Spring 2004 will always be my favorite period in Cartoon Network's history. 2002 was the best year for Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, Primetime, and classics like Looney Tunes to enjoy each day, and 2003 was the best year for Toonami and Saturday Video Entertainment System. Damn I miss the Powerhouse Era and the old classic checkerboard logo for Cartoon Network!

Ohhhh how I miss this era. I remember waking up at around 5:30/6:00am just to Watch Zoids Chaotic Century just before catching the school bus. Good times.
I swear powerhouse and boomerang's toy era felt so much alike
What I would give to see these bumpers on tv for one last time!
Cartoon Network, Disney Channel and Nickelodeon all had great Coming up Next bumpers during this time.
Thanks for the memories!
Powerhouse is an amazing song.
The NEXT Helicopter Powerhouse bumper is missing. It was some guy with a deep voice announcing."Coming up next it's Batman followed by Scooby Doo Where Are You on Cartoon Network".
