My grandfather was in the South African Air Force. He was in one of the B-24s that dropped supplies for the people in Warsaw.

Every year since I learnt of the immense sacrifices made by the Polish people during the Warsaw uprising I have been standing up and kept my mouth shut for one minute on August 1st. Every year I have done this, and every year I shall do this. I have nothing but respect for the brave Polish men, women and children who fought for their more than deserved freedom and safety. Every year I will show that respect in the way I can. By sacrificing one minute of my life to commemorate those who gave it all for their family,

@@kerrypxul5791 The soviets did not annex poland, when did that happened after WW2? Also if the soviets did not liberate poland then the Germans would genocide the poles (Generalplan Ost). The soviets were not the best obviously but without them there wont be any poland.
