Adam Mansell Dla Twojej informacji,Turcy byli jednym z NIEWIELU państw,którzy chcieli by Polska stała się niepodległym państwem.

HOWEVER, the story of the Warsaw Uprising is so powerful and moving. Those who literally put their lives on the line deserve to be honoured, and seeing the whole city stand still like that is beautiful. Huge respect to you all.

Every year since I learnt of the immense sacrifices made by the Polish people during the Warsaw uprising I have been standing up and kept my mouth shut for one minute on August 1st. Every year I have done this, and every year I shall do this. I have nothing but respect for the brave Polish men, women and children who fought for their more than deserved freedom and safety. Every year I will show that respect in the way I can. By sacrificing one minute of my life to commemorate those who gave it all for their family, friends and country. Stay strong Poland, you have your freedom. But remember the cost. Respect from Sweden

So I've got emotional when I went out on August 1st and they held the minute of silence with me.

The most important for all polish people, who love their fatherland is to keep power in hands of the first kind of us, not in the second. Many times in history we made this mistake and it costed big price - blood and live of innocents.

The sirens are heard at 5pm, "W hour", in many, if not all, polish cities that day. We will allways remember brave people who sacrificied their youth and lives to the idea of freedom and free Poland, they did it for us, we can't forget that. Nowadays many historians are saying that the decision to start the uprising was bad, but that's politics. People who fought in uprising did this because they believed there is a chance to free Warsaw and with that, a chance to end german ocupation, and they agreed to give their lives for that chance, they agreed to give their lives for us 😢

Walking around Warsaw for the first time today was a completely mixed bag of emotions for me. I've wanted to come for years, as I have read plenty of what happened here. First of all....what an incredible city. I am not a city person, but I really want to come back and spend more time here. The main emotion for me though, and I knew it would be, is shame. Shame on the country of my birth for the way they treated the Polish people during WW2, and ever since. Shame for handing over the country they went to war over to Stalin. Shame for not supporting the Uprising with more than a token effort. Shame for not recognising the Polish at the end of the war (they did the same with Bomber Command too!!). My last emotion was pride though. Pride as a human being that there were people who could say enough is enough and stand up for themselves. If the British people had the balls to do this, rather than hide behind some made up history of bulldogs and spitfires, then I'd have way more respect for the country of my birth. Poland, I salute you
