I just started playing Arknights about 4 months ago, and I'm here for the rerun. I bought Kal'tsit from the certificate shop and was lucky enough to pull Surtr earlier this week. Your channel has helped me immensely in getting used to the mechanics and gimmicks of both the base game and the events. I'm extremely appreciative.
If your Mudrock is about lvl 20-30 and your kal’tsit is about lvl 50, you can simply add and deploy gravel in the bottom middle to bait the first two bullets so Mudrock won’t die. Only two works since 3 or more would make the boss stay too long and allow the annoying enemy that spawn on the top left to fight back against surtr. Gravel can also help bait the first two cars on top that we had to let go through before we first spawn Mon3tr so that would help mudrock survive. Also, a lvl 50 Kal’tsit can’t deal enough damage to force the boss to use all three of his boundaries, so keep that in mind and either add someone else to help or pray for rng (personally, i recommend using mon3tr as a true dmg bomb and spawn him right between surtr and mudrock tho. It worked for me.). That or use support Kal’tsit since the problem only matter in the challenge stage anyways.

Possible substitution:
Without Surtr, you can subs with GG(S3)+Ambriel(S2) (on the left side) or/and (Optional) SilverAsh/Chen(S3) 1 cell below Mont3r deployment position (deploy earlier and prepare for s3).
If deploying GG and Ambriel, make sure it is done before (in 1st phase) and after (in 2nd phase) each boss screening skill, else they will get 1 shotted. They will need 1 healer to keep them alive from the sniper mobs.
Surtr Job for lowering the boss HP and dealing the final blow at phase 2 can be substituted with Fartooth (Module +S3M3).
Mudrock can be substituted with Mountain, make sure he is high level (mine is E2 75, S2M3).

With the Re run happening watched this to get the clear, even though I dont have most of who you had (used Penance instead of Mudrock since I dont have her yet and support Surtr) Still got it thanks to the guide. do want to say in a comment here. Guide Ahead was my first event clear I ever got when I first started last year, I didnt have any E2 people really or many upgraded people and was just happy I got the clear after using your guide before with a support Kal tsit. Now having my own and many other units I decided to attempt the EX stages for this event and its challenge mode, 1 through 7 I did on my own and got them both done leading up to this. A year of playing a year of work of units and learning this game and strategies and got a full 100% clear for the first time on a event being this, made me feel proud and love this game every day. Thank you always for the videos you do :D be well and wonderful always.
I'm so happy that this is FINALLY one of the "easy high end" runs I can do, all I need is to borrow support unit surtr

I forgot to change my Eya from S2 to S3, but I brought along 2 fast redeploys (Texas Alter and Yato Alter) to compensate for my underlevel Kal'tsit (E2 51) to help with my blunder. Worked fine.
I actually have all the 6 stars needed for a high end squad :O I'm becoming a veteran player (even though my account is not 1 year old yet) feelsgoodman
This was perfect; thanks Kyo! I was able to pull off this strat with Kal'sit and Mudrock at level 70 with supplemental operators thorns, Saria and Blaze to finish off that invincible ice cream truck at the end. I love how the boss's super attack is enough to make Mudrock trigger her self healing to almost full HP every time he uses it!

I adapted the basic version without Mudrock, Kal or Surtr. Will need to see if this works for CM. I borrowed Surtr.
1. Replaced Mudrock with Mountain
2. Brought Hoshiguma and Horn as backup for Mountain
3. Used Mlynar in place of Monst3r
4. Had to bring healers to keep Mountain alive.
5. Used Texalt and Kirito as backup nukers to make sure things die when they should.

Used Penance instead of Mudrock. Her S3 finished first phase of the boss on the stairwell which kept the field from being generated.

Tq so much for guide Kyo! I had to improvised a bit since I don't have Mudrock T_T. Replace mud with thorn and put saria in front of the blue box (second tile) and honeyberry at the 3rd tile at the bottom for healing. If anyone else also use Thorn like me, DON'T activate his second third skill until Ando has pass him, if not, thorn gonna kill him at that spot & it gonna be a bit troublesome. (if his level are too high)
Looks like the timing to setup two Ch'en bursts is more lenient in this stage compared to the normal one.
I'd go as far as to say the Boss EX Stage is far easier than the normal one.

This was pretty helpful! For some reason the last cart slipped past Eyja faster for me, so I had to kind of chase it around to deal with it with Mon3tr lol
i used this setup but with yato alter and texas alter
good lord those new fast redeployment really changed how the game works

If your Kal'tsit's Monst3r and Surtr doesn't do enough damage on the boss 2nd phase bring GG and use her S3 from a safe distance to take him down faster before he is using his multishot

My Mudrock tends to die after the first laser, the shield doesn't seem to spawn fast enough.
Bringing other defenders and a caster for dps helps alot
What lvl and promotion level is your Mudrock? Make sure she doesn't tank too much of those ice cream buggys. mine also died from too much tanking. Bring a sniper who can take down from a safe distance
@@kadse2994 I handled that issue by bringing skalter and perfumer to keep mudrock alive, also I deployed myrtle first to get a lot of DP before the boss second HP bar for other operators.
For those rerun: having best defender like mudmud, saria, hoshiguma for low end strat is good
Be sure to have some Nuke like Chen or chalter but you have to make sure andoain fart at certain one tile that is going to left box (upper lane or right lane). Finally if your Chen aren't strong to make andoain fart at the first place he should be farted, bring buffer/debuffer on ranged tile and it should be enough to do the low end
Beside that just remember that even if one of the towers are red you should be fine but not all of it and I know I should comment on low end but!! For some reason I don't find a friend that has Kal'sit m3 then just use her with module lv2 or higher same thing!😊

Surtr max lv s3m3
Kaltsit lv 70 s3m3
Eyja lv 50 s3m3 (died earlier 😥)
and all of them are pot 1, got a bit problem in CM because Andoain spawn the dodge area in bottom lane but its still cleared.

I took this and kinda made my own spin on it but using pretty much the same strat since I don't have Sutr or Mudrock so I could only choose one from friends but I scrapped on by with using a ton of help in place of Mudrock mainly being Hoshi and friends. Haha.
Borrowed Kaltsit, swapped Mudrock for Pallas S3lv3+module right below her tile (Saria to the left below tower) and Surtr with SA + Castle 3 and THRMEX
Brought tons more bait (Vulcan Blitz Skadi Tequila Texas) and finally managed to clutch a win… It’s true that getting crap tons of 6*s won’t save you from stupidity 😂 I wasted lots of practice drills and stamina just to medal

What’s the minimum lvl for the strat and can I replace Mudrock with someone else ?
My mudrock did just fine at lvl52 E2, Surtr E2 max and Kaltsit E2 60, I needed to use fast redeploys to tank some of those little cars tho
You can bring a medic, a defender, and then another damage unit to replace Mudrock. Make sure the boss doesn’t bounce the bullets between them though.
I don't have Eyja s3m3, thus I replaced her with uncle to kill those ice cream car and it worked (Shame that my uncle is not strong enough, he in effect can just kill only 2 of them, I still gotta wait for Surt to redeploy then Surt the last one)
Help I don't have Eyja and can't borrow my friends' (already borrowed Kal'tsit), is there a substitute for her cause my brain is about to explode I hate Andoain

I fucking hate this boss. Tons of ops in his way? Literall hell approaching(S3s of Surtr and Eja)? Well, he's: a) ublockable b) fires a fucking multishot that oneshots almost every ranged unit(poor Suzuran... I'm really sorry) c) casts a massive dodge area for himself and enemies d) casts a wall that also kills almost every ranged unit. It's not a big problem on normal, but challenge makes it so much harder. Like, I can easily setup Surtr/Aak/Warfarin/Suzuran/Saria combo, but it does not matter, he'll still leave with tiny bits of HP left. Had to bruteforce hardmode of this stage, literally played until first Surtr/Warfarin killed his first form, then went to classic SA+Aak combo, repeated for finishing touch.
Didn't even bother bringing Shamare and(or) Suzu, really.
