My son’s fingernails have cuticles that will grow upwards to where it almost covers his entire nails! He has had the habit of biting his nails since he was younger (now 13yrs) and I always wondered if his habit helped cause that? Could you please give me your suggestion of how I should treat this? My toenails are ingrown,my mom is also the same,our toenails just keeps getting to the sides. At one point during high school,I had enough,the sides of the toes are getting black,I don't want my toenails getting ripped off so I use a rubber band as a tourniquet for my toes and start cutting at the nails that are stabbed at the flesh,the first cut managed to get the ingrown nails out but some small pieces are still inside,I can feel it,so I wait for a few days because i don't want my toes to lose circulation too long,and see if the wound heals,then I start cutting again this time i reached the insides and took out a small thin piece of nail,the weird feeling is now gone,so I start with cleaning the wound and disinfecting it,hurts as hell,but the wound healed,toenail is not hurting me anymore,and my toes are getting that pink colour back.
@@OCPodiatry yeah,best go to a doctor,but at the time I was living alone,and the toe is not a life threatening condition,yet,maybe. But the bright side is my toe is good now,maybe I'm lucky as hell at that time,next time I prefer to have a doctor look at it though,if I can afford it
