    Nice to reconnect.
    We all believers (Christians) in the Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Church go to sleep only after reciting this prayer 🙏 We pray for all the Churches of Asia & East and for his Kingdom to return 🙏 The Churches used to follow East Aramaic and later West Aramaic in our liturgy.

      Which song uses this melody?

    • @elvisgeorge9613
      @elvisgeorge9613 3 года назад +2

      @@binugeorge231 I'm pretty sure it's Thuyai since songs written by Mar Aprem follow the 7-syllabic structure, which is the same meter Thuyai follows. Another example of Thuyai would be "Isho Maran Mishiha," written by Mar Aprem and sung during Sapra of Sundays and feast days.

    Is this Syriac (Classical Syriac) or Assyrian (Neo-Aramaic)?

    • @elvisgeorge9613
      @elvisgeorge9613 3 года назад +2

      @Mary Fire so is it like vernacular syriac or the syriac used in the liturgy? And what's chaldean? In India, we just use "East Syriac" and "West Syriac," cuz we only use those dialects, we don't have Turoyo or Sureth so when people say "Assyrian" or "Chaldean" We often get confused...

    • @elvisgeorge9613
      @elvisgeorge9613 3 года назад +1

      @Mary Fire ok thank you for the information... so like when you say "Assyrian," you mean east syriac right? And I'm pretty sure (If I am not mistaken) the ACoE uses Assyrian in its liturgy while Chaldean Catholics use Sureth (Chaldean?) In the liturgy since it is the vernacular... and the Syriac orthodox and Syriac Catholic use West Syriac and never Turoyo in the liturgy....

      @Mary Fire In this video they are not singing the original mimro as written by Mor Afrem in ܟܬܒܝܐ Classical Syriac . This is Neo Aramaic translation. I have uploaded two stanzas of this hymn in ܟܬܒܝܐ Classical Syriac in both the East Syriac ( a vowelization) and West Syriac (o vowelization) pronunciations ruclips.net/video/NcUbTJoAGhc/видео.html In this video that stanzas that I have uploaded appears at 1:11.

      @Mary Fire Turoyo and West Syriac is not the same. West Syriac is Classical Syriac with west syriac pronunciation. Turoyo ( ܛܘܪܝܐwhich means mountainous) is the a neo aramaic language spoken in the mountainous regions of Tur Abdin. And you are right if one only knows Classical Syriac ܟܬܒܝܐ (that of the book) it is difficult to understand Turoyo ܛܘܪܝܐ

      This Dialect is calles "Suret", which is also known as Assyrian neo-Aramaic or Chaldean neo-Aramaic. It is an Eastern Syriac Dialect while turoyo ist an Western Syriac Dialect. Turoyo and The classical Western Syriac Dialect also are hard to Understand for turoyo speaker that dont have knowlege of the classical Syriac language. In the Assyrian and Chaldean neo-Aramaic Dialects but there are much words from the classical Syriac Dialect. Me as a turoyo speaker it surprised me to Hear more classical Syriac in Suret than in turoyo. But at the end all Dialects have the Same root and are the Same Langauge that Developed sepparatley from eachother over the centuries...
