Boeing extended pre-start checklist: All doors and windows still there: Check. Wings still there: Check. Wheels still on te plane: Check. Pre start checklist completed.
I have watched several videos taken on aircraft flight decks over the years, but this has to be easily the best one that I have ever had the pleasure of watching. It is very interesting, very comprehensive and the commentary is both very clear as well as easily understandable. A huge 'Thank You' to those responsible for making the video and to Just Pilots for posting it. It will certainly become much treasured.
One of the most informative videos regarding aviation that I have seen. The professionalism of the crew and detailed explanations of the flight procedures was excellent. Well done!
Excellent video. I have sat through months of aircraft system classes over the years. Some of these classes lasted weeks. You just explained some of the systems in a 2 hr video better than most of the instructors that I have had over the years.
Incredibly well explained throughout all phases of the flight, and including the systems and procedures. For sure the best video and flight I’ve ever seen ! Hope to be in flying next to this captain one day !
Probably one of the best videos I have ever watched ! I am a Flight Dispatcher with a National Flag Carrier in Canada - 7 months shy of 40 years of service. As part of my annual requalification licensing renewal, and numerous ground school classes and exams on all aircraft types is a live 8.0 hr hour Transport Canada Check ride. The last part is I have to physically fly two flight legs for requalification. This places me in the cockpit in the jump seat. ( Familiarization Flight - Jump seat ) . This allows me to connect with the flight crew and answer questions as to why I file them low altitude til waypoint ??? or why are we going this route today- or long way around. Simple answer - Restricted Military airspace between 1200-1630 UTC , Mass air launch F15 , F35, B52 , B1 and B2 +++ or the route you are on will avoid hurricane or Wxx alification.
Brilliant in depth explanation of all of the computerized aircraft and flight control systems..... From an old school DC-8/707/747 crew where the most advanced piece of equipment we had was the INS!
Great take off and landing. The informational part is soo good and complete. It was real pleasure to watch and learn about the B78 and flight procedures.
Great video. Have spent some time on St Maarten and always enjoyed watching the planes land over the beach. And about 25 years ago Air France 747 would give everybody along the fence a good jet blast on takeoff.
Really enjoyed the video and all the technical explanations etc . My only gripe is the size of your JP's logo . It blanks out an entire MFD at times . Cheers
Excellent system review. Thank you!! Coming from an analog B747 this is all gee wiz stuff to me, although I understand what you are doing. Thank you again.
I liked to hear a pilot say to his first officer when they said about fuel you're right that's a good pilot and asking if they had any questions he's a brilliant instructor as well
Erg interessant wat er allemaal komt kijken , voor dat er gevlogen kan worden , en de cockpit van de Dreamliner ziet er mooi uit , fijne vlucht naar de Cariben !!
I want to congratulate the captain and explanations for the use of Boeing 787 dreamliner. Is an increíble machine that makes the thinking of more training to more pilots of comercial flights to comunicate the whole world more rapid and accurate. Congratulations for excellents explanations and flights. From Chile. Felipe and family 👨👩👧👧👫🦁💗🐯🧑⚖️⚖️🕊️🇨🇱🕊️🇨🇱🕊️🇨🇱🕊️🇨🇱🕊️🇨🇱🕊️🇨🇱!!!
Great captain and so thorough, thank you for this. But I always wonder why airlines keep the master temp around 23-25 C (in this case it was 24 C), that's way too warm especially in a small space like a plane lol.
And the captain is left handed like me, always good.😊 I have to do the same Oceanic waypoints on the KLM B772 FMC flying on VATSIM and do the Oceanic clearance request by text 1 hour before crossing the first entry point. Greetings.
Wowza! This is excellent. Thank you so much for doing this. I have so many new procedures I can use when going oceanic on MSFS...and helps me understand a couple of things I didnt know when I listen to HF on my Ham Radio station 😎
Some 8 year old footage, our farm was located near 06/24 ( at 41:08) , it's all distribution centres nowadays.... We relocated to 41:23 low left corner .... Never been able to find a take off or landing video in which i see myself at work :-(
nice,,, the flight planning is alot behind GA... enter destination in foreflight,,,it shows a few routes and ones accepted by atc,,, pick a route ,, send it to the plane wireless ,,, done
May i ask why the air temp is set to 24 on the master? It's always too hot on the big jets, I don't understand why they don't alter it, as you see the flight deck is set cooler.
I'm confused about the speed. 250(ish)kn is not close to 0.84M, yet that is all the speed (plus or minus 10 or so) that shows for the whole journey. Seems very slow to me.
I am now retired after 50yrs of flying and all analogue panel , this glass cockpit system is light years away from anything I have ever done and my impression is that you need to be a pilot and a computer systems expert for this type of modern aircraft.
What a complex, convoluted process with so much room for manual error. I'd have thought in this day and age, the whole navigation process would be far more automated and foolproof - right from crew briefing, to flight plans to entering data into the systems to actual navigation in the air and updating information. It seems a lot of flying is about entering data into computers via white text on a black screen. I'd always fancied becoming a pilot but I'm glad I haven't now - I wonder what is the percentage of actual hands-on flying vs punching information into computers?
I wonder if Tui Airlines realise there is a native bird named the Tui in New Zealand. It is a black coloured bird with a white bulb like feature hanging from it throat.

I would give the Oscar of flight explanation to this pilot.
Excellent video. I have sat through months of aircraft system classes over the years. Some of these classes lasted weeks. You just explained some of the systems in a 2 hr video better than most of the instructors that I have had over the years.
Always enjoy watching these vlogs and helping amateur enthusiasts like myself understand the flight deck better😊😊

Dutch pilots on a beautiful 787 Dreamliner ☺😊
very professional crew if they are like this all the time and not just with a camera on

They want you sleept.
nice video
What was the flight plan from St Augustine to Teterboro so simmers can try that route
i want to know how you programm ILS System for Landing
Is the date on the plane correct and is this an video from 2015?
Yeah i saw the same thing 😮
Yes, it is they don't come to st maarten anymore
Their english is perfect👍😀

Wow! When I flew it was paper charts strapped to your leg. Mid-route you would have to refold it.
