- Опубликовано: 15 дек 2019
- We got our coins from the NGC coin grading and NCS coin conservation service! Although I was able to, I did not log in and look at these grades before opening the box, so you are experiencing the unboxing with me and I learned their grades!
We had some highs and lows, but regardless of that it was a fantastic experience and alot of fun to share with you all!
Leave me some feedback down below and also let me know if you have had much luck with sending your rare coins to NGC and/or NCS

Thanks for watching guys! This was a fun video to do and it is INCREDIBLY hard to not look online to see what the grades are when you know they are there! Waiting until I actually unbox them is still not something I'm used to doing, but it is WAY more fun to share the opening!
Let me know in the comments here if you've ever had much luck with NGC and NCS!
Well thanks to your shot.. i learned they have a weird way of following contractual agreements.. " improve condition to the point of crossing the "Cleaned" line. If you cant do anything.. then do nothin! They honestly make me like ngc less.. and i 💙 NGC.. 😕
I enjoyed watching your enthusiasm. Very cool specimens.
I feel bad, why would they clean it, cause it to lose all numismatic value AND charge you for it?
Collectors: Don’t every clean coins!
NCS: Hold my beer.....
😂😂😂
IMO, the coins looked better before the "restoration." I'm not impressed by NGC here.
Well.... I have to say... many old cleanings do not show up till you have the coin conserved... the coin is not put down as a cleaned coin because of the conservation service you purchased for the coin... however the conservation can help show up an old cleaning because of the loss of the original luster, strike or abrasions ect... many of these do not show up readily until the coin is actually conserved... just my 2 cents my friend.... still some fabulous coins
Yea I'm aware of that, and with 3 of the 4 perhaps that's correct... I disagree with that on the 1918-D Buff though. That coin was original all day.
Silver Seeker I got ya I know the feeling
coins: the pokemon cards of adults
Accurate
the fact im a kid who collects both cards and coins
(mainly coins)
Such bs I would be sending the coins to the cleaning company saying justify this
9:28 oh oh oh baby!! My friend walked in said "dude whatbr watching lol had to get that straight real quick thought I would share that LOL made me chuckle
Thanks for doing these videos; I love this!
My heart hurts in the Buffalo... looks like it’s three strikes you’re out on the ‘08S IHC brother. I’ll give it a good home if your tired of it’s “cleaned” grade yet. 🤓
That's only the 2nd time on that 08-S... but that said I'm done with it. Remember I was working on 2 of them LOL. :)
I am most upset about the Buff and Quarter. The Buff more because I know for a fact that it was original. The quarter may have been previously cleaned before so I am at peace with that one. Altho I still think it's Unc.
Did you contact NCS about this at all? I would love to know what they have to say about the "cleaned" and not restored
Love the format you do the videos!! Keep at it, new sub !
Awesome vid, Silver Seeker - really enjoyed this one!
Thanks for sharing, learned lots. You the man.
This was fun to watch. Love these unboxing videos
Those are some awesome Coins I love the excitement that you have 🤠👍
Don’t go to the casino any time soon.
I don't intend to LOL
I thought NCS sent back all the coins that they believed their restoration processes would make the coin grade worse or less. They also didn’t even remove the darkness on that 1834 quarter you sent in!
This was my first grading video I've ever watched. As a metal detectorist and CRHer, starting to get back into coin collecting from my child hood. Really enjoyed this video, and your emotions on the grading. Just got my very first Walking Liberty Half in a box of halves. (Always thought people just made those up that they got, but BAM, little ole me got one in a 4 box hunt. Video is in the que!

You sound exactly like me during an unboxing 😄.. highs and lows. An emotional roller coaster that we look forward to riding again and again!
NCS is good, but sometimes it exposes prior cleaning underneath
Uncle Jesse exactly 👍👍👍
I agree it can expose prior cleaning, but I don't believe that to be the case on the 1918-D. I'm not the only person that saw that coin before grading and even they said there is no way that was cleaned before hand.
@@SilverSeeker Sometimes people artificially dirty/tone coins to cover up prior cleaning. Not saying it's you or who you bought from. I recently had a coin that I sent to NCS it came back AU58 it was problem free but like you I thought it was UNC. My advice really look at those tone coins before buying and sending off for grading
@@orlandotheman8245 aye I'm aware this wasnt toned it was just old and dingy. The rest I'll concede on that being possible but not the 1918-D.
I missed this one. just watching two year after the fact. Seeker, I love how excited and disappointed you get. I can tell how much you love coins and the adventure of grading. I love this type of video.
Looked forward to this!
Interesting results Seeker...Merry Christmas
good video Seeker , the first buffalo nickel looked amazing ,
have a nice holiday season.
very cool video! I will be going to NGC from now on!
Nice group of coins, thanks for sharing!
These reactions are priceless! These are soundboard quality!!
Awesome video. Thanks for showing the before and after grading. Education
So I’m confused. Was the “cleaned” designation due to prior cleaning or NCS restoration? If it’s the latter, I’ll be very hesitant to use NCS.
Started off strong for suure but you still have some stunning pieces there. With the nickel do you think it had maybe been cleaned before the restoration?
These are so fun to watch
Thank you for sharing beautiful coins
Thanks for sharing about NCS, I didn’t realize that existed
Anytime, thanks for watching! :)
Congrats on the large cent my man. That’s a hell of a find, and a nice payday should you ever decide to sell it
Thanks my friend!
congratulations. And restorations pretty much means the same to me. Its if we clean them it's a no- no but if they clean and restore it's done right. As long as they get a grade in the end who can complain.
NGC Gave me the blessing on my 2019 S Coin!!!!!! In hand today!!!!
im very surprised at the grade you scored on the 1805 LC, didnt look nearly that to me, but im not NGC, well done !
I was expecting an ERP lol , sorry about all the Details coins you got back, that hurt my feelers to watch. You did end up with some nicely graded coins though, congrats!
Thanks NCF, and the ERP will be here soon!
SS, I did a huge fist pump when I saw, then turned down my volume on my headphones 🎧 anticipating your reaction. Priceless bro
LOL Awesome my friend!
Awesome unboxing man bummer on the restored coins but love the videos 🖒
Thanks Slyly!
Thanls for doing this, I have learned not to trust their "restoration" service. Turns out just paying for expensive cleaning at the end of the day.
Did anyone other then me think he was getting a prostate exam. OHHHHHHHH MYYYYYY GODDDDDDDDDD OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YESSSSSSS LOL
hahaha this guy is fun to watch rather than the other coin youtuber and he was selling a legit mystery loot box!!! god bless to you bruh
Some really nice grades. I’d disagree with some of the cleaned coins but regardless they came back graded nicely
Great video!
How much do they charge. How do they charge?
my heart started pounding at 4:57 when the box top was opened.
The last four were beautiful coins.
Really like the NGC coins reveal.... very interesting...
The 1835 large cent was cleaned for sho I could tell and I'm blind LOL. What is whizzed?
Still not bad Seeker👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Very cool video 💥💥💥💥
Thank you VCC! You rock my friend!
awesome vid except the end result on some of those......if that grade on the buff makes you that upset....well, you do have my address......lol thankyou very much for sharing this unboxing ...these are great. but a couple of those.....holy smithereens...SALUTE.
LOL thanks AG you rock. :)
Where do you purchase your coins if you don't mind me asking! Do you buy your raw coins at coin shows?
Thanks for your answer and your very informative videos!
loved the reaction at 8:28 for the 1805 penny, subbed!
What I would do for higher end coins is down load photos of coins from auction sites and compare them to the coin your going to get graded and the dark spots on that one coin I think they are carbon spots I have a beautiful toned coin with the black spots someone told me it is carbon spots
Great video thanks for sharing
Just one suggestion on the video should put prices on coins when you revealed then..thanks
Thanks for the feedback! This video wasn't really about prices and values, it was about the coins themselves. But I may do that in future videos, so I appreciate the idea!
What is the price to get coins graded
My rule of thumb when it comes to anything antique is do not restore them. Even an antique in bad shape is better than an antique that someone repaired because at least it is all original. Just my opinion.
Ok, so does this mean if you send a coin for "restoration" it can't come back with a grade, or do you think you just got unlucky with 4 out of 4 problem coins?
I know of coins that came back from restoration with grades so I guess I'm just unlucky
nice man! i dont even own a slabbed coin LOL
What does Whizzed mean?
I was hoping this was going to be for the 2019 reverse proof but still a good video.did you get my email by chance for the gaw the other night?
I did my friend you're good to go! I'm going to try and ship today after I did out of this snow. :)
Great video but sucks about the questionable grades. What do you plan to do with the ones in the bad stack?
I don't know yet... a may break a couple out but a few of them I'd still rather have in a authenticated holder. It's something to think about.
I’m always amazed with some of the claims they make! How exactly do they know ! Interesting! Thanks!
Years of experience and training I would imagine. Thanks for watching!
Silver Seeker I wouldn’t hope so, but sometimes I just don’t know.
grading companies might as well be up on a soap box selling snake oil.
Am I understanding correctly, that even if you "restore" a coin through the NCS, it would be flagged by orgs like the NGC as "cleaned" (and taking a significant fractional hit in value)? If a "restoration" can't maximize the value of your coin...why bother?
I am fairly new to the whole coin grading and slabbing game. I have questions. What do you do with graded “problem” such as CLEANED etc. ??? Is there any kind of collector’s market for those things? Do people actually want them or is it a total kiss of death for those kinds of slabbed coins? Just trying to learn. Please don’t flame me. Great video. Have a great day. Happy Holidays. Thank you.
what does whizzed mean?
What is Whizzed??
That was cool to watch. What does whizzed mean for coin grading ? Thx for sharing
I believe it means a mechanical wire brush taken at high speed, messing with the luster.
@@weaveman33 thx for explaining that. I don't personally send coins to be graded so I wouldn't know about that part. Peace
Weaveman is correct here that's exactly what it means. Thanks man you rock!
You can spot a whizzed coin by looking at the fields compared to the devises. The fields will be overly shiny and the devises will be dull or have a darker color.
You are right that some of those coins could have been cleaned a hundred years ago. That was what people did with old coins back then, it was acceptable. I have also been disappointed sending some older US coins to NGC.
Are you a dealer or collector?
The 1834 quarter looked better before conservation. Definitely looked cleaned after cleaning. I would be upset.
Congratulations I'm not sure what whizzing is other than what we did is kid in the snow so if you could explain that I'd appreciate it and congratulations on those coins but do you think NGC put clean down there because they did clean them
Bwahaha. Dat is funny
I'll do a video about it sometime but essentially its using a wire brush at high speeds to attempt to procude luster.
First off, great video! This is the first time I’ve watched one of these and it was great.
I was very interested in this particular video because of the four coins sent to NCS. I have about 25 coins that I would like to be “professionally” restored so the outcome here was what I was looking for.
Here’s my question: NCS states that they will restore a coin to its “original” condition, yes? If that’s the cat, then someone please explain to me how the grading department can label the coins cleaned? “Original condition” would be anything BUT cleaned. They didn’t leave the MINT in cleaned condition so how can they be labeled clean if they were professionally restored?
THAT is what bothers me about NGC’s graders. If NCS restores a coin to original condition, then it should not be labeled clean by the grading department. It should only have a grade and nothing else.
I still want my 25 coins restored and graded, but after watching this video, I must say I’m torn as to what to do,🤷♂️.
Again however, great video. I’ve just subscribed and look forward to seeing what else you’re going to show us.
Thanks!
That seems like a bait and switch by NCS- charge you to "restore" coin, then label it cleaned. You could have just cleaned it yourself and got that designation. Thanks for posting - I learned a lot - namely never use NCS!
Can you please explain to me how much it cost to do a coin and where do I send it please comment back and specify everything for me I have my father's coins Where he passed away and he collected a sense he was younger please comment back thank you so very much and please be safe and I hope all your coins are worth a lot of money
That sucks about the bust quarter coming back cleaned because you could dip the coin and make it look better than what the conservation place did and it wouldn't have cost extra but you never know what they will say.
What is whizzed?
please do a video on how you market & sell 'details' coins !! thanks !!
GREAT video seeker!! however, when the NCS resto division sends it to the GRADING division, shouldnt they have a heads up? kind of mad for you bro!!
I don't really know if they do or not. I mean I guess if the coin looks cleaned, it doesn't matter who does it. But still those 4 were disappointing.
yeah, disappointing, i was under the assumption that their methods of restoring were not going to show up as cleaned...oh well. are you going to ask them how to proceed? or if there is any solution?
Omg..I would be so pissed!!! You can totally tell they CLEANED them and then tell you that they are not in gradeable condition!! so why even have them professionally "restored" lame!!
Perhaps they can only do so much, once a coin has been tampered with you cannot undo it no matter what methods or techniques you use. This is why I believe you should just accept coins for what they are and leave them raw, to me, grading companies are a waste of time and money.
Good.
Thanks!
They determine cleaned before NAC to prevent confusion when being graded.
I am quite certain that is untrue... based on what they told me after I called them about this specific order. That said what makes you say that I just wanna make sure I have all info.
Do the people who conserve/restore the coins also grade them? If not, do the graders know that fact? It would almost seem like a conflict of interest to clean a coin then grade it as *NOT* cleaned. That would almost be fraud on any future buyers of the coin.
The unboxing was off to a great start, but ultimately defeated. A bit like watching a Cubs game.
You can never UNCLEAN a coin! The 1908-S looked cleaned the first time you showed it and still looks cleaned after NCS. I totally agree with NGC calling them cleaned! After all THEY cleaned them!
Except I've seen tons of coins go to NCS and come back just fine after they "restored" them
This is why I collect modern coins and bullion and not older coins.
To bad . great video
Like #119! Another great no peeks Slabbage Bust down! And the cleaned is like paying them to screw up.. not cool! So yeah i will never use that option! Thanks a Ton Seeker! And sorry bro! Keep Pushin!
Thanks brother! Yea this is the first time I've used NCS, and the last.
What is a whizzed coin anyways?
Polished with a high speed wire brush
Regardless, still some nice coins!
what I think happened was the cleaned coins had already been cleaned but re-toned and the conservations showed the cleaning
I'd be a little ticked getting them restored and well you know😥, why would someone whizz on a coin? And how did they know😂
You can tell under a microscope. The scratch marks are easily visible in the soft silver planchets
Not the point, the buffalo wasn't cleaned before he sent it. It was their so called restoration service that made it a cleaned coin.
MrDirty Nickels so, they shouldn’t label it honestly?
@@samgardner4667 not the point, again he paid to get it restored, the company which is owned by the grading service to be RESTORED and when they do that, it isn't supposed to look cleaned. He paid for a service that basically made his coins less valuable. If he didn't get them RESTORED especially the buffalo nickel. Then they wouldn't have come back "cleaned"
MrDirty Nickels Id love to know the distinction from the NCS between restored and cleaned, then. Like, how is one different from the other and when did it change. I agree with you that it’s shitty that his nickel wasn’t cleaned and then they slapped a cleaned grade on it afterwards and that’s something I’d love to take up with a person at the NGC/NCS
Not sure Id use the conservation, that 1834 bust quarter looked better before they did whatever to it.
What's wizzed?
Hey NGC why restore it if your going to call it cleaned.
Looking at all your coins; mine seem too be too inferior.
you got robbed on those 3 cent peices those were great shape
Never heard of wizzed. Hope you came out ahead anyways!
Green Go if I know it correctly, whizzed is when they make tiny tiny scratches on the coin to bring back the luster. It can only be seen by microscopes and loops though. It makes the coin practically worthless. 500$ coin down to a 5$ coin when wizzes.
It's not completely worthless but it is worth a ton less for sure.
I think you got screwed with that restoration process. they should call out a grade before and after the "restoring" process and shouldn't call out "cleaned" if they are doing it. Thanks for sharing as I don't plan on using them now.
