Selling online as an artist? You might be approached by one of those NFT gurus. Beware! They might be scams!
This is a perfect example I found on Facebook. An NFT guru approached an artist, telling her to list her artwork on one of the platforms and potentially make tens of thousands of dollars. It sounds like an opportunity of a lifetime! It sounds too good to be true. How could this person evaluate your work without asking for any information about you or your art? They want you to pay for the $300 'gas fee' as well as give your authorization to sell your art as NFTs. By now you might see that it's probably a scam.

I am not familiar in crypto world. I also received a DM about selling 3 pieces of my artworks. They said I just need to upload them to opensea. I also got a price idea.

@@mirtillbozsoki5032 they'll ask for the NFT link. If after providing that, they'll send u a fake screenshot of a msg regarding the transaction issue. If u proceed after that then you'll definitely get scammed.

I don't know if the NFTS scammers aren't there so artists would just give up. Artists are not getting contacted by anyone who would consider their work but NFT scammers contact artists non stop. Do not go to any websites they send you. They're fake websites. Do not correspond with them via any email about anything. I had about 30 scammers contact me from different platforms. All turned out to be scammers.

thnk u for making this video, some random girl just started sending me messenges yesterday, asking if my art is on sale. I neve did sale my art, but i thought that it could be cool if she liked it, but it seemed weird, because she was really incisive. Them she offered me 45,000 i thought that was some error and she meant 45.00 dollars, them she started talking about supremeart thing, that i could put my art there and another collectors like her could have a mint, so keeping in mind that the value was 45.00 not 45,00, even when i asked her if she did some misunderstanding, she didnt answer. When i started searching for supremeart, them i just found articles about scams and them found u. This whole story was to say, thank u.

Im a local artist in the southern Philippines, the same thing is happening to me rn, the guy asked me to list it on opensea for 4ETH each and theres two of em, and thats a lot of money in my country. He says to make a metamask wallet for the opensea account and the payment is automatic

Gas fees and royalties have nothing to do with each other. They wrote total nonsense at the end. This is targeted at those who are totally unfamiliar with all this. And the broken English is just so terrible. Right someone who writes like they're illiterate will pay $60k for something.

I just got a message from an “nft enthusiast” with an nft pfp on deviantart who just asked to confirm if the art on my page is mine. So thanks for this. I always find these types of people sketchy or iffy
I received the messages exactly same what you said here and l figured they were scam. I blocked them and reported them. I also received some emails, after l prayed God told me, it’s temptations and l blocked their emails. Art world are so many scammers.
Same thing just happened to me. Talked to God about it and yep it was a scam. Thank goodness for discernment

Most probably they are scammers! Also, selling as NFTs isn’t as easy as it seems. Better to spend the energy working on the “regular” marketing of your work.
If you're not selling NFTS how can anyone be interested in something you are not selling? It's like you are selling paintings and someone says they want to buy your sculptures. It just makes me wonder if those are real people or some kind of bots???

It has happened to me. I got 2/3 of messages every day with this kind of fraud.

I get that this is mostly scams BUT is there any reality to NFT's and how an artist can use this NFT platform to share and sell their art?

HELP ME PLEASE! DOUBT: I have something similar in mind, but the guy didn't ask me to pay this gas fee, only the website where I'm going to place the NFT is asking. the site is indexmints. The problem is that the fee that the site charges is 0.18 ETh... can you tell me if this site is safe?
Because if the site is, I don't see how it would gain anything if I'm not going to pass anything to it directly

I have a question if I sell nft art with character in it does that mean I no longer have the copyright of the character it self or just the artwork?
Good question! If the work is not a bespoke piece by a client, then you own the copyright automatically even if the original/NFT is sold.

When I told him, I am not able to buy the Eth then he is sending different different link to try and add funds. Then I can buy your artwork 😢
