    Hi, thank you for all the information you gave us and all these steps that I didn't think about. I want to open an art gallery in Spain and I thought to rent a big commercial space to use for art studio/gallery but also to live in it. Do you know what kind of paper I need to have before/after renting the place? Thanks in advance!!

      A Johnson 👋 Hi! I was already working in Alicante (Valencian communities) as a communication consultant before settling down. I found this city has a lot of potential so I invested in some properties. Barcelona was in my consideration but the city is a little bit overpriced. The cost of living and real estate...

      @@VeryPrivateGallery yea i was thinking Barcelona was kinda pricey. I would love to know more about the property you invested in.

      A Johnson Maybe I should do an investment vlog 😂 Depending on the area, you can find beaten down places for less than half the price of the market value.

    this was very helpful! im planning to start a gallery/studio in italy - do you think it would be foolish to do a seasonal type establishment? id love to chat and get some senior insight

    • @VeryPrivateGallery
      @VeryPrivateGallery  3 года назад +1

      Hi Omi, it’s never foolish to try what you think works based on your experience and data. I live in one of the coastal cities of Mediterranean sea, so I personally like the seasonal idea. But the problem is many things are annual (like rental contract, lawyer fee or accounting fee, insurance etc). If you close you might be still obligated to pay some bills.

    Thanks so much for these tips, I know they also apply to photography-based art studio, but are there any other key important detail you can advice for starting a gallery that is a photo-gallery?

    • @VeryPrivateGallery
      @VeryPrivateGallery  4 года назад +1

      I would recommend any photo-based artists and galleries to build an online presence, especially using local SEO. People can find you on Google/Google Map, and it brings trust for online buyers too!

      But, how do I go about tuning my presence to go beyond my local community, since I might move soon?

    How did you build up capital for your investment ?

      Ariel Collier I worked a corporate job for 3 years, making about 50 grants a year. I saved some money to make up for the initial down payment. I took a 60% loan.

    • @VeryPrivateGallery
      @VeryPrivateGallery  2 года назад

      Hi David, you need to submit to the banks some paperwork: your past income (annual report form), your current income and property as a collateral. If you will do an art business, then you need to show the business plan (like print on demand tshirt with art and design). If you plan to buy a place to make art, the details of the place you try to get.

    Yes, nothing but rules in Spain and zero appreciation that anyone instead of fleeing the huge Spanish unemployment problem would be even willing to try to open an art gallery to add something to the community, and so the unemployment in these heavily regulated countries continues, and young people continue either living with their parents or just flee the country to seek work in other less regulated and bureaucratic countries where maybe they can do this or that. At least maybe. Isn't it like this? As a result the Spanish people are not as entrepreneurial as people in less regulated countries because such regulations are the cause of narrowing of possible opportunities. What is going on in Spain is horrible. One would think whether this is deliberate or not as if this is a part of some larger plan. Yes, this needs to be addressed and criticized. We maybe cannot do much about it, but criticize it can be a good start. The state never considers that without people it is nothing.

      The original intention of policymakers were good. They wanted to give unemployment benefits and universal healthcare, and they did. But the problem is how to make it sustainable. After all someone has to pay for it. The corruption back a decade ago was huge. If the money was put to the right use, it would all be different by now.
