    How do you find the mara X when it comes to pulling back to back shots and steaming?

    • @HomeBaristaCorner
      @HomeBaristaCorner  Год назад +1

      MaraX has brew priority mode and steam priority mode switch on the side (check my unboxing). If you're making back to back shot like making latte, choose the steam priority to maintain higher steam pressure. You can steam in brew priority mode but it is slower. Most of my recent videos are in Brew Priority mode (I like optimized brewing temp versus steam pressure).

      I will create video soon to demonstrate back to back shots.

    should probably go a bit finer on your grind. Your shot pulled in 19 seconds
    What's the thermometer you're using? That's pretty nice

    • @HomeBaristaCorner
      @HomeBaristaCorner  Год назад

      If you will notice at the end of the video when pulling my shot, it's 39g in 31secs which is just fine. The digital thermometer is from Timemore:

      @@HomeBaristaCorner I guess some people do it differently. Everyone I know starts their time when the first drop hits the cup.

    • @HomeBaristaCorner
      @HomeBaristaCorner  Год назад +1

      @@NubRusty Basically when we hit a button or pull the lever to start, it starts to wet the puck with low pressure, also known as pre-infusion time. It is part of the brewing time and should be counted, even in the cafe. That's the standard. The only exemption is when playing with pressure profile feature (flow control paddle) like the one in Lelit Bianca.

      @NubRusty Год назад +2

      @@HomeBaristaCorner I would have to disagree with that. Whole Latte Love actually has a very good video on why you should start your time at first drop rather than pump on. If you had 2 different machines, with different pumps, and you started your timer at pump on, both shots will be vastly different. By starting at first drop, you can replicate your shot across different machines because equal grind settings @9bars should equal the same flowrate through the puck.

    hi, where did you get the things underneath the grinder and espresso machine

    Interesting pairing a $375 grinder with a $1700 espresso machine. Is the grinder up to the task?

      DF64 is well known in home barista community (Niche Zero killer). This grinder has an upgraded espresso focus SSP burr High Uniformity, the best in the market. Here's my unboxing:

      @homebaristacorner I don't know many who prefer the df64 over the Niche. The workflow on my df64 was bad, lots of clumping, ugly bellows, static. Your burrs are good. Df is a cheap Chinese clone grinder for sure. Good, low price, just seems like a cheap grinder for $2k espresso machine

    • @tagheuer02
      @tagheuer02 Год назад

      @sickhcivc I didn't like mine, it is cheap, but a Chinese knockoff. Workflow not great, ugly bellows, more retention than expected and declumper is junky
