How to make Green Tea (Matcha) Latte | Simple Recipe

  • A special recipe from Japan on how to make green tea (matcha) latte with a hint of toasted soybean powder. It's better than the Starbucks version. I'll even show you how to froth the milk with a simple whisk, no fancy equipment required.
    If you do want a traditional matcha whisk, here's the kind I used in my video: amzn.to/1r1Ssw1
    The roasted soy bean powder (flour) is called Kinako in Japanese. amzn.to/1ll50gk

    I love this recipe! Although I made it without the soybean powder, and replaced milk with almond milk, it still turned out really well! I was amazed that I was able to get almond milk to foam up. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

    Hey Angel :) A quick barista tip is, instead of spooning over the froth, just bang and swirl the frothy milk in the container until it becomes shiny. That way your milk will be much much creamier and tastier, and froth will separate naturally from the milk anyway.

    Delicious. I had to order my soybean powder from Amazon. I made the latte just like yours, expect cut it down to 1 cup of milk. The soybean powder is the key. It cuts down the bitterness of my ceremonial matcha, and does add that "nutty" flavor. Thank you so much for sharing! I have never used soybean powder before, and I'm looking forward to combing it with other recipes.

    I just had to make a statement about soy products. I am a breast cancer survivor which means I can no long have soy in any form. Women have to be very careful when it comes to soy products because they do contain compounds which create Estrogen. Too much Estrogen can lead to Breast Cancer. Everyone has to do what is right for them and I completely respect Angel on her choice of using soy bean powder. I am only here to offer information which I think is important for every woman to know.

    • @becks5198
      @becks5198 6 лет назад +1

      That doesn’t matter because soy is still a natural estrogen. You can consume more soy easier than meat. It’s rare that anyone really eats that much meat. I had to cut my soy because it was causing very horrible cramps and periods lasting super heavy for a day to day and a half.

      @DramaticChildTV be careful with that info. Did they eat fermented or raw soy in the study you mention? Chinese people have been eating soy for centuries and they have one of the lowest cancer rates ever, and it's because the soy they eat is fermented, nothing to do with the one we usually eat in Europe or America

    • @angelwongskitchen

      Mary Pineda The roasted soybean powder and flour should be the same thing. Sometimes it's also known in Japanese as Kinako. If you found it at your Asian grocery store then you should have the right one. : ) I've also posted a link to where you can buy it on Amazon in the video description.

    For a second I thought she pulled out a tightly rolled blunt to go with it, and I thought "I could see how the herb and earthiness flavors from both would blend nicely," but it turned out to just be oddly shaped chocolate. Personally, I believe my idea would be a more fitting accoutrement to the matcha, but to each his own.
