They will FOREVER be “Ham Hock” and “Pork Rind.” Forever. Wookipedia be damned. 🤣
When Boba Fett said, “But Im the crime lord” I started crying laughing 😂
I wish we couldve seen his disgusted "what the actual fuck?!" face lol
"wait, that's illegal"
Careful Boba, Al Capone was also a famous crime lord yet he was caught due to tax evasion
@@JustKrin the prequels had senate politics and shipping blockades, time for some good ol' criminal tax evasion in sequel shows
@@alexkramerblogs screw season 3 of The Mandalorian, give me Law and Order Tatooine
*every cop, judge and prosecutor gets blown up on the first episode*
Well, now let's move on to Mando season 3
"Jay does Michael Mcdonald singing about Boba Fett" is the only thing I've ever seen that makes me think "this man loves Boba Fett as much as I do"
Yes. We need a Max Rebo remix Jay's version for a cantina scene.
From now on when anything goes wrong, I'm just going to yell ... "JAWAS!!" 🤣
Yep. Same. They're related to gremlins, I'm tellin' ya
Haha same. Already singing "looks like I hate it" almost every day. These guys... 😀
When the Gamorreans said we were once loyal guards and willing to serve Boba Fett, they meant it. They were working.
I mean, Boba seems like a pretty great boss actually
@@thecursor1 Probably a huge step up from Jabba *and* Bib Fortuna.
@@17thknight oh for sure!
@@thecursor1 less chance of being fed to a rancor
I sing "Looks like I hate it" at least once a day at work 😂 love Jay for that
Boba's bill for 5 years of daily rate parking on Slave I is gonna be legendary.
And nobody would dare repo it, cause what if Boba comes for it.
He is the crime lord now, they better pay for the privilege of hosting Slave-I's stay
Plot twist,: the only reason he returned and claimed Jabba's throne was to help fund the galaxy-sized loan he needed for that bill. Makes sense, the guy's got honor, and he won't skip out on his parking tickets. Might as well become a galaxy-wide crime lord and kill hundreds or thousands of people in the process in order to settle accounts. This is my new headcanon.
Slave I probably would've been parked @ Jabba's (what sort of parking lot is behind the palace?). Since Jabba & crew died, wouldn't the entire palace have gotten looted? And any remaining ships stolen or parted out? Hard to imagine that everything would've just sat there unmolested.
@@michaelm.1947 If you listen carefully to the dialogue in the episode, you'll learn that Bib Fortuna ruled in between Jabba and Boba. I looked up the name and that was Jabba's right hand man. So most likely business continued mostly as usual.
If Hamhock and Porkrind aren’t canon I choose to believe they are now.
A sign of a good show is that you want MORE at the end.
And it taps into other cool shows and movies. Total Godfather, Vito Corleone references in there. haha
So let me get this straight if you are not satisfied. That the show hasn't given you enough. That means you want more of it? LOL. No not me this was beyond boring and the acting was atrocious
@@ericdulyon4601 Yes. It's an old truism of storytelling that leaving your audience wanting more is a sign of a good story. Look up Scheherazade and One Thousand and One Nights. Check out the idea of cliffhangers, too. hahaha
Unless that feeling stays when the last episode is finished, then it's a bad sign...
Ming-an Wen posted on Instagram her reaction to seeing Fennic’s helmet in the Lucasfilm title sequence.
It is wholesome content, pure joy like Jay’s face
Ming-na Wen? How about Ming-Na Now!
She's Fennec's biggest fan and it makes me so happy for her! Her video unboxing Fennec's Funko Pop is the cutest thing too!
Yeah, she deserves it, just love for that woman
As a Kiwi, am soo proud of Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett) our world famous in NZ actor.... he is doing a great job in this
Y'all are so cool. And how is TM still hot after all this time?! What do you guys eat? xD
@@WileChile51 lol it's those great maori genes with a touch of ' boil up' ( genuine maori kai) lol
My best friend died 4 years ago today and I just realized how much comfort I take just in your guys friendship. Thanks for being you. I know you’ll hit 100K soon. Thanks for all you do. You’ve been a huge comfort over the last year.
I'm convinced that 4 armed creature was a tribute to Ray Harryhausen who was a huge influence on Phil Tippett. It even looked stop motion at times... and it looks abit like the Kraken from clash of the titans.
I thought that exact thing!!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that thought.
THAT'S why I thought it looked so familiar!!! Yessssssss
Especially the shot from over its left shoulder as it approached Boba Fett. I feel like that exact shot was in Clash of the Titans (not w the Kraken but maybe Medusa or Calibos).
Thankyou
I am on a animals of Star Wars fb page, and no one knew what that monster was.
That whole 'Jason and the Argonaughts' kind of vibe, too, that really sells the sci-fi serialness of the series. I love it
The Centaur Lizard Goblin is a real fun design
From solo, to jawas, to sand people, Boba just got owned by everybody. Chapter I: Boba’s bad week.
Even the most notorious bounty hunter in the galaxy isn't perfect in every way.
*Whah Whah*
@@liamphibia he was utter trash in this episode, should have done better
@@senate2674 he's still healing, hopefully he'll get better throughout the series
@@alberthicks9691 I hope so, I’ve been waiting long enough for this series and don’t want it to underdeliver
He did blow that one dude up to tiny bits at least.
It's the first book of Boba Fett reaction, I'm less than 3 and a half minutes in, the reaction hasn't started yet, and Jay is already making a threat on Adam's life.
Glad to see we're right on schedule
I never knew I needed to hear Jay sing in the style of Michael McDonald about Boba Fett and now I want to hear a whole song.
The show seems like it's actually going to go the direction I thought it might. Boba's experiences around and after RotJ, taught him a lot. He saw his own very unceremonious downfall, and how helpless he is without his gear, and clearly the Tuskens are the ones who turned him into the badass we saw in The Mandalorian. He also lived to witness the fall of the Empire (which hasn't happened yet in his flashbacks, because this is probably no more than a week or two later after he got dumped in the Sarlacc). He's never really been a "bad" person, in that he wants to harm others or doesn't give a shit about anyone. He's just had a hard life, and now he's seeing what being an asshole really costs. You could see in his face how badly he wanted to help that Moisture Farmer, but knew he couldn't. He's always been a guy just trying to get by, and he thought he had to be hard and cruel to do it, but he's never actually been ok with that. Now that it's cost him everything, he's going to try something else.
.
He's learned humility, and he's learned the value of dealing straight with people. He's learned that intimidation and power aren't nearly as reliable as Fennec thinks they are. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
Right. So why did Vader say 'no disintegration' to him. Rewriting the character to make him sympathetic.
@@30noir ...he literally disintegrated a guy in this episode?
@@30noir I'm not sure what you're trying to point out. Vader told him no disintegrations because dead bounties are easier to collect than live ones, and Boba's not going to put himself at risk when he doesn't have to. Vader wanted them alive, instead.
.
What about that was difficult to grasp?
@@Martin-xd4jl That too. Though...technically not true, since a disintegration would break down a target to ash and dust...while Boba literally exploded the guy into a puff of mist.
@@DoremiFasolatido1979 The target in Empire was Luke. Vader didn't want to kill Luke. So no disintegrations. Han and Leia were bait to catch Luke.
I’m convinced the desert creature was inspired by the Ray Harryhausen kraken from Clash of the Titans(1981).
It was obvious CG mixed with practical, but it just felt like he animated it and I'm trying to figure out how they did that.
Agreed. I definitely got some heavy Harryhausen vibes off that thing.
I immediately said "Its the Kraken!" when I saw it
I thought the guy that came in place of the mayor reminded me of Adam and I was so vindicated when Jay said “I didn’t know you were in this show!” 😂
Jay was moonlighting a Christmas movie, and Adam was sneaking off to film a Star Wars character. 2021 was big for them 😂
"And I thought it smelled bad...on the outside." 😂 Great shout-out to Han Solo.
His current policies of ruling with honor is definitely taught by the Tuskens, which is likely the reason they are shown in parallel with his current self. He is shown how helpless he is without his gears and allies, how if he want something (such as water in this case) then he need to earn it AND earn the respect of others. At first he tried his usual approach by taking the water and try to escape, but ended up getting beaten again. He watched people getting robbed and beaten, and know how that felt. Only when he managed to earn the respect of the Tuskens that he is treated fairly.
What a fun watch along. You guys are hilarious. 100k is definitely happening.
I am absolutely ROARING with laughter!! This is the funniest video! You guys - the whole Jergens bit -- just hilarious and amazing!! Also Adam's "use your legs" and "the Leia special" - Yesss!!
Also, the "Find the fastest bantha" remark was funny. I was like, Yeah. Watch him go. Vroom, vroom. haha.
The MIT robots joke was really funny, as well
Jay goes from 'Excited Golden Retriever' mode to 'I'mma CUT you!' mode real quick!
I’m glad that everyone can agree that we need more
100% and we now have to WAIT!!!
One 30 minute episode per week that barely shows anything is not enough
@@senate2674 some ep will be 50 min or longer look at mando some were short some were long I felt like this was a appetizer for a great series can’t wait for the next ep
Coming back to this, I am greatly disappointed
@@Clairevoyant101 cmon, what did you expect?
Anything that meshes together PT and OT elements is an automatic "Win!" for me.
I love how Star Wars universe never invented digital payments, so everyone still lugs around big ole coins.
Well, it does take place a long time ago...
Aside from this show I waited for this reaction for a year. Worth it.
As soon as WHATEVER THAT WAS pulled itself out of the sand, I started screaming "AHH IT'S DEATHCLAW TERRITORY! HE'S IN DEATHCLAW TERRITORY!!"
No wonder Anakin hated this planet.
Fallout fan I see. Nice!!
Princess Leia to Boba Fett:OK tough guy ,but could you do that while wearing a gold bikini? I didn't think so.
Now do we call that a ‘Leia lap dance’ or getting ‘Jabba-d’ ?
In the star wars universe there are many inevitabilities such as death by bounty hunter, tribute to crime lords, and getting robbed by trash panda Jawas. Jay would not even be able to put his coffee down without a jawa having it away!
I'm guessing the Tusken Raiders teach him how to fight like them, he did not know how to fight in a trained manner before being captured by them imo and this is where he moved up from street fighting to the disciplined technique we see in Mandalorian
Boba is a skilled fighter with Mandalorian projectile weapons. He has never really used melee weapons though, and that's why the Tusken had the upper hand.
trivia: That was the director of this episode Robert Rodriguez playing the alien with the Wookie pelt near the beginning. When Boba goes into the cantina the musicians are playing a more contemporary version of the original cantina song from A New Hope. You can also see Rex the pilot from Star Tours (the Star Wars ride at Disney World) as a gambling dealer there.
Adam’s reaction to the stupid fucking “MIT” robots was priceless
edit: i have to mention the reaction at 14:35 because it was my roommate and i’s exact reaction we both shouted HES FUCKIN DEAD
I want to know what was happening in that scene. They were being herded like goats. For what purpose?
@@ThePete1081 I’d assume maybe herding robots? Like robots made to do herding like dogs? or maybe they are MIT police bots… 🤔
I genuinely love all of your reactions, but when it comes to Star Wars, you take it to a whole other level. It is like watching my inner child react to its favourite thing in the world and I am here for it.
....... "He's trying to be John Marcone"
Holy fuck I didn't think I could love you guys any more then I already did!
Ham hock & Pork rind 😂, yes! Just yes! 🤣
I look forward to seeing the arc of this show. Boba was indeed a renowned bounty hunter, however he has less experience as a crime lord and needs to figure that out.
Exactly. He is used to taking orders, not giving them.
“That was not enough, show!!!”
This, THIS is why you have my sub lmao.
EXACTLY! 😂
I’m definitely calling those Gamorreans (yes I looked up that name) Ham Hock and Pork Rind for the rest of this series
Oh. My. GODS. XD I will be doing the same from now on.
They’re like bobas own personal bebop and rocksteady or I guess just bebop and bebop
Jay’s laugh is like some candy I’ll never get tired of.
It's so delightfully wheezy, makes me smile every dang time I hear it!
Dave filoni stated that the tusken raiders were star wars version of the American Indians. There's theories that it wasn't the tusken that attacked Anakin's home but the same people that Boba Fett and the young tusken were looking at. The tusken raiders found Anakin's mother and she was already near death. Anakin basically killed the wrong people adding to his descent. When told of this theory George Lucas just smiled and said that's a good theory..
"The Cup" looks like a cleaned out Sea Urchin , maybe painted . Surely , Adam can fabricate one for Jay in all his spare time ?
I thought it was some sort of crustacean. But sea urchin is definitely what it looks like. I forgot the spikes fall off after they die an you’re left with just the shell.
I thought it was just a simple gourd hollowed out.
Fennec so wanted to shoot the Mayor's messenger. Lol
Fennec wants to shoot everyone
The attention to detail is incredible! Boba's under armor even matched the under armor in Return of the Jedi. So cool!
As a member of the Guild of Tommys, i´ll be sure to instruct my fellow T´s to Fix It! Awesome as always, guys 🙃
Thanks Tomàs 😎
Hey Jay - those cups are the skeletons/shells of sea urchins! They've even got the big hole on the bottom the Tusken Raiders are drinking from - looks like the prop dept. just painted them. You can get them off eBay. They're porous tho, full of teeny tiny holes the urchin breathed thru, so you'd have to waterproof them.
Counterpoint: after digging out of a giant desert butt and stumbling through a twin sun desert for a couple days, that is probably the most delicious water he ever drank.
Loved how they had the Sarlacc scene setup like it just happened riight after the Jabba battle in ROTJ
LOL💀😆 “Yes, kiss the flamethrower.” Love it.
We have seen that sand creature before (kinda) it was one of the pieces on the Dejarik (Holo-Chess) board in the Falcon.
Jay, you would have made an outstanding 60's Batman villain .
If I had to guess the reason he didn't just jetpack out of the circle, it was because that would mean leaving Fennec's back exposed and almost certainly result in her death.
Seeing Jay so excited had me howling. Great reaction guys.
So is that like a hidden water cache that the kid and the two prisoners are digging up? I imagine that beast maybe found it and broke a couple open to drink... perhaps even staked it out to see if some food might come back?
Bobas hand coming out of the sand was very symbolic if you ask me
The first thing I did after watching the ep was come here who else cheered "hes pulling a princess Leia!" when he pulled the chain
I ŕeally need the two Gamorreans names to actually be Hamhock and Pork Rind. 😁😁
"Jay does Michael Mcdonald singing about Boba Fett" I haven't even watched the reaction and I've already liked the vid
Porkrind and Hamhock are now my canon names for those two Gamorreans. I don't care what they name them. They will forever be...Porkrind and Hamhock.
Good first episode nothing too crazy happens and we finally get answers to more of his backstory..Great start for the first season
Basically, this season will be Boba Fett establishing the Tatooine mafia. The creators seem to be taking inspiration from how the American Mafia created 'The Commission' of the five most powerful crime families.
I love that the Cantina music is being played but in a much faster tempo and on a string instrument ;) fun little easter egg.
13:32 when I was watching the episode this morning I literally said “fuckin Jawa’s man…..”
Not MIT robots...Boston Dynamics. That's "Spot". They're commercially available now...though in very limited quantity. Nevertheless, they've been finding a lot of work in places too hazardous for humans. This is their first Hollywood gig. The very first every TRUE DROIDS to appear in a Star Wars property.
Besides merch that references Michael McDonald, that would be a great slogan for merch for you guys: (5:50) "Blue milk and squishy carrots. Welcome to Star Wars. Our food is gross."
I LOVE when you boys mention The Dresden Files!
That said, I wasn't disappointed with this episode but nothing really blew my hair back either. Seemed a little unfocused but I'm excited for what comes next.
Same. I like the beginning where it shows how he escapes but yeah it was alright.
@@bcdey84 I just knew Dengar was going to show up, which woulda been so good. But, I guess introducing the other bounty hunters is too far back in the Legends lore. Dang
You guys are awesome …. Hahaha your reactions are hilarious!!!!
LET THIS SHOW BRING THE LAST 4K TO 100K. BLESSINGS TO THE BOYS AND TO THIS COMMUNITY LET'S GO! BEEN HERE SINCE THE OLD DAYS!
One of those tuskans had part of a lightsaber hanging on their belt, maybe a Jedi in hiding
That desert creature looked like the Kraken from the original "Clash of the Titans".
1995 book *Tales from Jabbas Palace* described Fetts escape from the pit much as it is shown here. It was one of my favorite “non-canon” stories from those early 90s books.
Jay just casually drops a Dresden Files reference, absolutely made my day.
The term "mate" is now Star Wars cannon. Fuck yeah
The michael mcdonald killed me DEAD 😂🤣
Thank you for the Gentleman John Marcone reference. Made my night.
If it takes a 1000 years to digest stuff, surely the heartburn is gonna suck
The monster at the end looked like a homage to Ray HarryHausen...
If Goro and Reptile had a kid, that'd be what they fought in the desert. And yes. That was not enough LOL
I subscribed because Jay's comment about the Dresden files now makes me see Fennic as a Valkyrie
"Okay, for real though, here we go..."
*AD BREAK*
Me: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
"The lack of the tail is disturbing" he thought i wouldnt notice but i did nice star wars reference
If some one havent said it already.. the music is from the movie Ronja Rövardotter (robbersdoughter). A swedish childrens movie from the 80:s. It called the "Borka song". An absolut gem.
Makes me happy
Those desert water bulb thigies are based on sea urchin shells. There's cups and bowls out there that use the same motif but they're almost always white ceramic.
I'm so friggin excited for this show. I honestly didn't think I would be, but this episode was like "and you.. and you... and you... YOU'RE gonna love me!!!!"
When I seen the mayor's representative & he spoke, I was like noooooo.... why does he remind me of Adam 😅 then I watch this & Jay says the same thing 🤣
Daddy is back home baby!! For the record...I think this 10:20 could be the actual original Chewie's suit from Star Wars movies though...WHAT A BADASS START...
I have been waiting for this reaction all day knowing how long Jay has been waiting for it
Sing the Boba Fett song again, Jay. The one from the the review of the last episode of Mando. It's literally been stuck in my head for the past year.
This is me.
The sand monster looks like one of the pieces on the holoboard from Episode 4 that Chewie and R2 were playing..maybe..
That's where I'd seen it before!
LOL adam @ 20:53 like a kid on Christmas LOL. Seriously though this show was special so much.......love.. *chefs kiss* Loved the sarlaac bit, wish that was more but feel like it wont be the last time we see in inside there. Boba' s been through some serious shit in his life. I feel like this first episode was to bring in old and new fans. Amazing how it accomplishes his past and moves the show forward. I'm seriously predicting Boba will need to step up his ass kicking
"not enough", it's the same length as the first episode of The Mandolorian, 38 mins, a good sign of a good show when it leaves you wanting more.
Boba Fett and his best friend Slave 1!!!
Love these two guys, they are always so happy and fun to watch,
I love the Western tropes. A few movies come to mind. Last of the Dogmen, Windwalker, Little Big Man, Man Called Horse, The Good The Bad and The Ugly...
I had to pause for "teamwork" 2 different brains on the same page on the same page 👌
Omg Adam have the same birthday as you. Hope you get those subs as you’re chemistry together is just awesome. Found you during mandalorian season 2 compilation reaction, was so glad I did. Your reaction to invincible episode 1 is my source of giggles
I was getting "A Man called Horse" vibes from Boba's treatment by the Tuskens.
Glad you guys got this out so quick! I watched Ep 1 around 2am, lol. I couldn't wait! So intrigued to see what's next!
I loved Matt Berry voicing the droid!
