No matter what happens, a certain group is going to be pissed off at the draft. We didn't draft the right QB, we gave up too much to move up for that QB, we didn't try hard enough to move up for a QB, we should have traded down and taken a QB later, etc. People are going to hate. I don't think the Vikings really care if it's not universally loved no matter what they do.
Bills fans, and Chiefs fans were pretty vocal at the time. Hopefully we get the right guy ....for once.
I’m not really in favor of any particular option. Whether we draft a qb high, low, or go with Darnold then Hall in 2025. I’m completely fine.

You like Drake Maye??!! That says it all to me- you have no idea what you’re talking about. He’s got bust written all over him- typical thinking that this guy is big etc. and the ability to read Defenses is not easily correctable- in fact it’s one of the hardest things to fix which correlates to proper decision making- it’s why so many physical stud QB’s in college don’t make it in the pros

JJ McCarthy is going to amaze many people, but especially Buckeye fans. Because he wasn't called on to do what builds huge stat lines, doesn't mean you couldn't do it. He has played pro-style football at the highest level and won a Natty. He will be successful, and Minnesota is a great fit. Kevin O'Connell won't allow a pick he doesn't believe in.

To all the people that are out on JJ McCarthy, do yourself a favor and watch his highlight reel from high school. Personally, I agree with the first guy about him being another Stetson Bennett based on his Michigan time. but after watching his high school tape I think he would slot in perfect for the Vikings offense. Fact of the matter is he did exactly what Michigan wanted him to do. Who knows what he would’ve done if he was running the Oregon offense.
The problem with most Vikings fans is them ONLY watching HIGHLIGHTS and not all the plays where a QB doesn't look amazing. MidCarthy will be an average QB.
Why was this guy so focused on McCarthy's college production? There have been plenty of college QB's who put up stats at that level who did nothing at the NFL level. What a strange take.
How many college qb on a National Championship team have won a SB?

@@StillKeepOnLosing It's Harbaugh. His teams don't rely on passing intentionally. Lack of production in a Harbaugh offense isn't a slight against JJ. When Harbaugh was an NFL coach, he team was often 32nd in passing attempts because he always focused on the run. When Harbaugh did ask JJ to pass, he was incredibly successful at it. Playing to the strength of your team, coach, playbook and winning is now being looked at in a negative way. Clowns.

Jim Harbaugh could have Dan Marino as QB and Randy Moss as WR with Jerry Rice and would still run the ball 85% of the time. McCarthy is talented, accurate, and mobile. He’s a mobile Kirk Cousins, which is perfect for a KOC, Sean McVey, or Kyle Shanahan type offense. Put McCarthy in another offense he may be a bust.
I'm on the opposite spectrum. I do think Maye will be the biggest bust out of the top 4. I'd rather go JJ or Daniels. Penax needs a good O-line.

I think the Vikings definitely have a Plan A, Plan B and Plan C for QB in the Draft this year. They have to; a trade is gonna need a trade partner and they can't count on another team to cooperate. Kwesi has done a good job hiding his real preferences. I think if every trade for a QB like McCarthy or Daniels--or Maye--falls apart the Vikings will be fine with Michael Penix.
If Wash picks Daniels (see Schefter comment) then if we fail to trade up with NE they are the dumbest stones in the sack

If they spend 2 years evaluating this QB class and either stick at 11 and cross their fingers or worse trade back, they are much dumber than I thought.
The QB is the most important position in all professional sports, DON'T try and get cute!!!!. Identify a guy or two and trade up and get him, instead of praying he falls to you.
I'm 61 years old and we haven't had a real franchise QB since Fran. Please, for the love of God, do something we haven't EVER done before and move up into the top 10 and get your QB!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just doing something different DOES NOT equal it to being a better decision. I agree that if they are certain on a QB, they should get him, but just trading up because the Vikings have never done it before is silly.
No matter what happens people will be pissed. Working in a management position you can never make everyone happy and you must only do the best for your business and even when your company crew is not completely satisfied, they still need to be successful in the business of winning football games. I don’t see a way of getting a top 3 QB, unless you give up

I couldn’t disagree with this guys take on JJ McCarthy any more. For Christ sake, just because he wasn’t asked to throw a lot doesn’t mean he can’t do it. I hate that people hold his “lack of production” over his head like it’s his fault he didn’t throw the ball 50 times a game

2 Reports.
1. Vikings saving 23 in trade up could mean that we’re either trading up 7-10 or trading players along with 11 overall.
2. If a qb is drafted, Mullens to be a cut candidate. This likely means Jaren Hall will be the long term back up solution to our future QB.

@@Ryguy1920 it’s possible. People need to give him a break. He was a 5th rounder and most rookies aren’t ready first year (ie Mahomes, Manning, Brady etc). But it’s not hard to see him play better than Mullens in year 2. Remains to be seen but I doubt they only keep 2 QBs on the roster.
