    My daughter asked for a similar cake and your page saved me! Such a nice manual on how to do it, although i don't think that the ratio of cream and cake is the best. And i want add that it would also be nice if there were russian subtitles, but no pressure 🥰 thanks a lot!

      Aww thank you!!! Yes, the ratio differs for different people because I prefer lesser cream! You can scale up the buttercream recipe so you can add in more in between the cake layers:)
      As for the Russian subtitles, I apologise but that would not be up anytime soon :(

    What temp do you generally keep the frosting at? Mine always seems to melt or be too firm.

      Hi! There is no exact temperature I keep my frosting at. Usually as soon as I make it I will use it immediately! Swiss meringue buttercream is usually very stable and can last even at warm temperatures (i live in a very warm climate country). There are a few tips i can provide you.
      Firstly, if you are piping the frosting and the heat of your hand is melting it, dip your hand in ice water for awhile before proceeding. But as long as your hand is not in contact with the buttercream and your cake is fully cooled down the frosting should be workable!
      Secondly, you can increase the sugar and butter in the buttercream recipe for it to be firmer and more stable, and the measurements would be this:
      6 egg whites (around 185g of egg whites)
      150g sugar
      300g unsalted butter
      Vanilla to taste
      Thirdly, use room temperature butter (do not use butter that has soften too much). Room temperature butter means that if you press your finger into it, it will create a dent but your finger would not be able to easily slide through.
      Lastly, if your buttercream has been firming up in the fridge, let it come to room temperature and whip with a mixer until it is smooth again before using!

      HAHA I didnt!!! I forgot to press record when I piped it onto the cake, so I showed how I piped it by piping on a tissue :) So you can just pipe directly on the cake !!

    my buttercream splitted and i ended up panicking but i think its because i ran out of butter... i microwaved a bit and mixed it and stuck it in the freezer for about 10 mins. i'll re whip it and hope for the best ;-;

      @@sinnamonrollie of course!! just a tip, water will look like its separating from the frosting when you are defrosting it after taking it out the fridge but do not worry! Let it defrost to around an hour then whip it with a stand mixer until everything looks smooth :)

      hello i actually have a chocolate cake recipe you can use!
      For three 6 inch pans (divide batter into three 6 inch pans)
      100g sugar
      150g brown sugar
      180g plain flour
      80g cocoa powder
      1 tsp baking powder
      1/2 tsp baking soda
      2 eggs
      2 egg yolks
      120g oil
      200g buttermilk (or 200g milk with 10g of lemon juice or vinegar, let it sit to curdle which will result in homemade buttermilk)
      150g hot water (ADDED LAST)
      steps:
      mix sugars together. sift in the rest of the dry ingredients into the sugar and mix it all together. add all wet ingredients into the dry EXCLUDING hot water. whisk it well, it will form a very thick batter. pour in hot water and immediately whisk it until a thin batter forms.
      weigh and divide batter equally, and bake in a preheated oven at 155 degrees celsius or 311 degrees farenheit for 25 - 30 min or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

      400g cream cheese (SOFTENED)
      200g unsalted butter (SOFTENED)
      135g icing sugar/powdered sugar (sifted)

    Is it possible to add some cocoa powder and some chocolate to the vanilla cake batter for a more chocolatey taste?

      You could try to substitute 20g of flour for 15g cocoa powder. I think you should avoid adding in any melted chocolate to the batter as this might change the texture of the cake.
      I have not tried this before though!

      hello! im using a turntable i bought locally so i think there's no brand :( as for american buttercream i am not sure how to make it less sweet thats why i always use swiss meringue buttercream!! im sorry that im not helping much :(

      so sorry for the late reply! yes its possible, any large round piping tip would work :) if you are using a smaller round tip as compared to the one used in the video, just apply more pressure when you are piping before lifting it up, that way the frogs body will still be round and plump hehe. If you are unable to find a round piping tip u could just snip of a large bit of the piping bag to create a large hole for piping :) hope this helps

      My Swiss meringue buttercream got watery...after butter was added. Do you know why?

      @@yuliyasocolova6487 hi sorry for the late reply! Do you mean it looks curdled? or does it look smooth and homogenous but liquid? If it looks curdled u have to continue whipping it will come together :) (maybe around 5-10 min, because your butter may not have been soft enough)
      If it does not look curdled but is very watery, you can add more butter (mayb 50g more) and continue mixing. If you need more help, you can send me pictures of your buttercream to my instagram @tiposhomebakes

    I'm going to try that for my birthday it's so cuteeeee. but I have a few questions :)). is it ok if I bake the cake Wednesday and decorate it Friday but then eat it on Saturday ? And how do you transfer the phrogs from the paper to the cake ? do you wait for them to harden? you're cake is way too prettyyyyyyyy

      Hi! Yes, you can do that! However, please wrap the cake with a few layers of cling wrap and store it in the fridge in case it dries out since you are making it on wednesday!
      I didn't transfer the frogs! I piped it directly on the cake but I forgot to press record on my camera so I did it again on a piece of paper to show how I piped it :) I can see why that is confusing sorry about that!
      The white rectangle do you mean the scraper? It is called a cake scraper! There are different types, including acrylic, metal and plastic. The one I used was plastic :)

      I'm not sure if this will work but i think you can remove the turning plate in your microwave and use it as a makeshift turntable!
      As for the offset spatula or cake scraper, maybe you can find any hard piece of plastic lying around, for example a large rule ? or maybe a butter knife will work as well!

    I tried making this, and I have a few questions... I had to make my own cake flour, so I followed a recipe I found on the internet. it resulted in the cakes being dense and heavy. What do you think I did wrong there? Also, the buttercream turned out super liquidy, so was totally unusable! I'd love to try again, but can you give any tips on how to make that better please?

      I think because maybe the cake flour recipe was not a perfect substitute for normal cake flour! You can use double acting baking powder instead of normal ones to lighten the cake :) or you can try my chocolate cake recipe! It uses plain flour.
      I have a link here for the recipe ruclips.net/video/Csu2E-_5TCk/видео.html . For a 6 inch cake you can scale it down to a 3 egg ratio recipe instead of the 4 egg as shown in the description box!
      As for the buttercream, was the mixture homogenous? Like was the mixture curdled looking? If yes then you have to whip longer as your butter was too cold when you added it in!
      However, if it was very smooth looking but very liquid-y it means that your egg whites were not fully at stiff peaks. If you are using a stand mixer, before adding in the butter, you should detach the whisk attachment from the mixer and stir the egg whites mixture by hand, especially the bottom because stand mixers usually don't reach all the way to the bottom. I realise when I don't do that, the egg whites will look like it has reached stiff peaks but in actual fact it was still very soft.
      If not you can scale up your butter to 50g of butter per egg white used in the recipe. So for example 2 egg whites you will have to use 100g of butter.
      Not only that, you can increase the sugar to get a stiffer meringue which would be more stable. I suggest for every egg white, you can add 30g of sugar instead of just 15g. For example, if you used 2 egg whites it will be a total of 60g of sugar.
      Just to note, each egg white is 30g!
      So for this video recipe as seen in the description box I will scale it up to:
      Recipe (swiss meringue buttercream)
      6 egg whites (around 185g of egg whites)
      180g sugar
      300g unsalted butter
      Vanilla to taste
      Really hope this will help! I am so sorry to hear your cake came out dense and your buttercream watery :(

      Hi! Whipping cream is a delicious option but in this case may not be a viable one because you would have to hold the piping bag for a very long time and the whipped cream will melt instantly :(

      I suggest that you increase the recipe to:
      400g cream cheese (SOFTENED)
      200g unsalted butter (SOFTENED)
      135g icing sugar/powdered sugar (sifted)
