I really do think that he's the most expressive SNL cast for the years he was there, followed closely by Taran Killam.
I really respect how they handled this sketch and it was actually funny as well so good job.

I’ve watched this like 3 times before and never understood that joke but literally I just learned about Muhammad in my AP world history class yesterday and my teachers like “Yeah you’re not supposed to draw the prophet Muhammad like ever!” And now I get it.

No one should be afraid to draw anything. No one should be shot or blown up for drawing pictures
this sketch gets me every single time
An enlightening sketch. Truly hilarious
No one realizes why this is so funny. Because the characters they are playing are afraid because they could get killed if they even touch that paper with that marker. But also the actual cast took a chance. I mean it was live, and even if one of them stumbled, or sneezed, and dropped the marker, or bumped into that canvas in any way that left a mark, their actual real life lives might have been in danger. I mean look up how they went after people who did that before. This is what makes this sketch truly insane and hilarious. Well written. Because they went right up to that dangerous line over and over again, being careful not to cross it. I would have made sure the marker was completely dry and a dud before they started. If I had to lacquer it. Like a loaded pistol between that and that canvas.
