Ayana is battling cancer right now, so probably production didn’t want to show her in a bad light and have fans give her a hard time online with all she’s going through
Remember its an EDITED SHOW and production is the puppet master. Jemm and Brandon did a live and Brandon said his whole call on Ayanna was edited out he called her on her shit and it was heated
Janelle did an interview on Zach's podcast and goes into great detail about her and Ayanna's history starting in AS2. Pam is more on point about Ayanna and something seems to be really wrong with her. Ayanna's MO is to gaslight people all the time. There were multiple people she did it to on AS2 and AS4 but everything was edited out. On AS2 Janelle and Ayanna were arguing and Ayanna ended up telling someone else who was POC that Janelle is not "one of them" although Janelle is mixed black/German so everything goes back to race with Ayanna and Janelle. Ayanna later played clueless and told people she didn't really know Janelle's race even though Janelle and Ayanna had a conversation previously where Ayanna asked Janelle her race and her kids's race. Janelle's husband is Japanese. Since we saw none of this on AS2 Janelle believes it allowed Ayanna to continue the same campaign against Janelle on AS4 because Ayanna believed production would protect her again and not air anything that happened. On AS4 Ayanna had multiple arguments with Brandon, Kam, Leroy, and Jasmine where they all called her out for being racist but in those arguments Ayanna said " if you think I am a racist Janelle is more of a racist" because Janelle is mixed and her kids are mixed. It was as if Ayanna was holding Janelle hostage and Janelle couldn't risk damaging her career and her husband's career so she left. At the point of this episode everyone just wanted Ayanna gone regardless of what she said to Syrus about Kam and Leroy. Ayanna also had several interactions with other cast members where she gaslit them as well on AS2 and AS4. The whole Ayanna ate Jodi's greek salad thing production edited as funny but Ayanna had called Jodi privileged because Jodi was looking for her salad when Ayanna was cleaning up a table and Jodi said she just wanted to get her salad to eat and Ayanna said "what do you think you are privileged and you don't have to clean?" Again we see none of these interactions with Ayanna.
At the end of the day Cara will never be Kam no.1 so long as Leroy is there. Cara have a right to strike a deal with Rachel. Making it to the final is $50K. It’s not win the final or come up empty so the politics is different. If it’s winner takes all than your going for the home run you don’t want your biggest threat to make it there = Cara and Rachel does everything to make sure the other don’t make the final. But this game does have at least $50K so it’s like Cara and Rachel are like one of us are going to win a daily most likely if we both look out for each other we both at the least will get $50K. I respect the game they’re playing it’s very smart.
I think Jenna is being kind and Ayanna was very calculated in telling him that after having the argument with Kam. It was the same thing that she did to Janelle, trying to turn it round and make Kam look like the bad guy for just asking her if she said it.
Love Jenna, and usually she’s pretty spot on, but not this time. Ayanna knew exactly what she was doing mentioning Kam and Leroy; she was planting a seed to water later. Kam did what she was supposed to do when she caught wind of this: nip it in the bud before it nips you. Kam is always two steps ahead, and that’s why Kam got her out. Disney Dan, of course, only seems typically to go with who he feels is super hot, so it makes sense he’s a fan of Avery, duh 🙄. Now he NEVER liked Kam, nor could he ever give her props. Too bad for him, she represents everything that he will never admit he hates.
I agree with Jenna on her perspective on Ayanna. Also, I think Cara was absolutely right in how she voted. However I also think Kam is ok to clock that that new connection with Cara and Rachel will not work in Kam and Leroy's favor in the long run. Finally I don't think Kam an Leroy are trying very hard to run the house as opposed to them simply being liked by those in the house. If you think about it Kam is rallying people who like then and they don't appear to be stron competitors so why get them out. The point is to get out ppl like Cara or like Rachel who can actually possibly win it all.
I love Cyrus. I do wish that we saw more of the older crop of people. It's Allstars, I want to see more of the old time vets and see them win a final. I don't think it's fair that they have so many people who are currently competing in the current Challenge compete against older challengers who haven't been on for a while.
Dan, my guess on why MTV The Challenge avoids certain issues might be tied to being sued by Tonya for the Sexual Assault by Kenny/Evan. Also, people grow and evolve. We should not like the same things we liked when we were twelve. Reg. Ayanna and Jeanelle. What I have read on the issue was that Ayanna really bullied and questioned Jeanlle’s blackness due to Jeanelle being of mix race. It was a huge race argument. There have been a lot of talk as to how they would edit the episodes because of how nasty it was. On Season 40 there is a similar situation with Cara and talking about (allegedly)possible physical abuse from Kyle during their relationship. Who knows if that will be edited out. All this to say, society has evolved as to what is acceptable (not wokeness which is a dogwhistle used by a certain party) and probably legal relations MTV has faced in the past.
Also I agree with Jenna. I think maybe Ayanna was trying to make Syrus feel better. Telling him he may not necessarily be going into elimination because people might target Kame and Leroy. Brandon twisted that information when he retold it
Great recap as always! It is great that you three all saw the Ayanna situation differently. I for one lean more with Pam's viewpoint, I think Ayanna did it all purposely, used the cover of "downloading syrus" to try and take a shot at Kam and Leroy. I think after Leroy blew up on her last episode Ayanna targeted them, just like she did with Janelle. Although going after Kam and Leroy is a smart game move it was too early to do it. I think she blew up after Kam confronted her cause that is what people do when they get caught in a lie either admit it or double down haha. One thing I wish you all mentioned was when Tony went home, Laurel and Nicole had a little moment there and Jay had a funny comment about how those two interact in the house changes by the hour, I am so excited for what is still to come with those two haha.
The thing about the Ayanna and Janelle, Jemmye said Janelle told her that Ayanna was questioning her blackness and called her racist. I heard they weren’t gonna show this because they want to steer away from those controversial topics and make the show more light hearted and fun. But little do they seem to realize, those kind of topics is what makes reality tv reality. I agree with Pam about Ayanna. So far this season, multiple people have talked about not wanting to get on Kam’s bad side and find it beneficial to work with her and Leroy. Unless I’m missing something, nobody had their names in their minds as of now to split up. Ayanna saying what she said to Syrus is her way of putting the bug in his ear to start something to get done in hoping it wouldn't come back to her. Until it backfired thanks to Brandon and Flora who heard what she said. It should also be considered they felt she was after how she did Janelle and the Jasmine vote. And I took the way she reacted as her getting caught in a lie, when all Kam wanted was just a yes or no and maybe some reassurance she’s still with her and Leroy.🙄 With that being said, Brandon did a live with Jemmye last night, and he said they edit out him and Ayanna getting into it after he put her on blast that she did want to split Kam and Leroy up. They had heated words for each other while Ayanna was up on his face, only for her to play victim when he tried to make up with her after acting like a lunatic to put on a show that he find her to be very performative. In addition, Jasmine said Ayanna has a sidekick that would keep doing things to get Ayanna going, and it was revealed to be Tina who Brandon said most of what she been doing got left in the cutting room floor. I honestly understand both perspectives between Cara and Kam. Cara is somebody who Kam consider a real life friend and felt like she should show her support with her vote, but Cara should do what’s in her best interest. Although, a part of me feel like Kam is just using that as an excuse to turn on Cara because she’s a threat who she knows will beat her and Leroy like she has multiple times before. Kam is very calculated and thinks way ahead than the average person. Cara is somebody that shouldn’t get to the final. In addition, I also feel like what Cara did in this episode shows how fake she is. Because during her time off the show, she would say multiple times of how she was willing to jeopardize her game by going down to eliminations since she got a lot of bad feedback for not seeing any in wotw2. She even made a comment about willing to go down for Bayleigh and Da’Vonne when she’s not even that close with them. Yet here she is not standing on business for Kam. I feel like somebody who would say things like that shouldn’t be worried about having her star stolen since she can just go down and get it back. But clearly she didn’t mean what she said.🙃 And I agree with Dan about Rachel’s move being scary and dumb. It is more ideal to want to run a final against Tina and Veronica since there can only be one winner. She shouldn’t want to run it against Cara who has beaten everyone in the first daily. The fact she was willing to turn on her friend she knew way back to appease Cara since she’ll gun for her had she done so I thought was a scared move.
Dan, Cara voted last. Not first or second. Kam is stragetic & doesnt want Rachel or Cara in the final. Nor in an alliance. She has Avery, Laurel & possibly Nicole to get thru too. Cara has the right to play in the best interest of her game. Not for Leroy, Kam or Kam's plus 2 or 3.
I think it's TV. Yeah, they are competing to win money but they also get paid just for filming. And the amount they get paid depends on many factors (#of seasons they've done, #of championship wins, #of finals, media following etc). So most likely, they asked for Kam to come back (since Leroy was retired). And offered triple the money if Leroy and Kam came back together. Those two on the same season are a complete storyline on their own.
I'm assuming that tony was the catalyst for keeping the rain for his departure quiet. Even more, what ... 2 years later...i don't think anyone knows even now. Past departures have typically been explained.
I feel Kam is not playing for herself. If she goes into an elimination she is gonna take a male star and give it to Leroy by the way she talks it seems like she alluded to that.
You are correct. Leroy said on the official podcast that the main goal was for him to be in the final and she helps him by giving him a star if it comes down to it. It’s actually annoying because I feel like she has more of a better chance of winning than he do since she’s better at puzzles
Researching on context is a two edge sword because one might uncover spoilers along the way. To Dan’s point the thing I don’t like about this new era of the Challenge is the overly edited storylines to avoid controversial issues. This is a reality show. It was the purpose of “The Real World”, to create a platform to discuss these issues and educate those who are less informed. I still can’t get over how the edited Dee out of entire season and screwed up the feel of the show. That could’ve been used as an opportunity to educate Dee who comes from a different counter and is not clued up on BLM and how it relates to historical injustices in the USA.
Ayana is battling cancer right now, so probably production didn’t want to show her in a bad light and have fans give her a hard time online with all she’s going through
I was thinking the same thing.
I agree but was a little annoying because the made her the “villain “ and then flipped it next episode
No I heard they already planned not to show it because they wanted to steer away from controversial topics like that even before Ayanna’s diagnosis
Remember its an EDITED SHOW and production is the puppet master. Jemm and Brandon did a live and Brandon said his whole call on Ayanna was edited out he called her on her shit and it was heated
Brandon also said that Cara voted last.

Again we see none of these interactions with Ayanna.
Kam was looking for an excuse to be able to turn on Cara and this is it. She is very smart and calculated
At the end of the day Cara will never be Kam no.1 so long as Leroy is there. Cara have a right to strike a deal with Rachel. Making it to the final is $50K. @josephbanks888 plus Cara I'm sure believes she is capable of beating anyone there so I think she just focuses on getting to the final herself
I think Jenna is being kind and Ayanna was very calculated in telling him that after having the argument with Kam. It was the same thing that she did to Janelle, trying to turn it round and make Kam look like the bad guy for just asking her if she said it.

I've noticed that. He doesn't seem to like smart, powerful women and/or women of color. He only likes meek, attractive Caucasian women.
I agree with Jenna on her perspective on Ayanna. Also, I think Cara was absolutely right in how she voted. Brandon said that Cara did go last in the vote so essentially Cara’s vote didn’t matter
I love Cyrus. I do wish that we saw more of the older crop of people. It's Allstars, I want to see more of the old time vets and see them win a final. 💯 agree with Pam on Ayanna.
Exactly, Dan is bias

Favorite song is like a virgin Madonna when Kefla won and started twerkin
💯 my favorite part too
I just like it as Brandon did to Ayana what she did to Jenelle. Karma. She lied on Jenelle Brandon lied on her .
100% Agree. Ayanna got her just desserts this episode. She had it coming.

Pronounced Key-fla
Thank you
Ayana clearly was planting a seed to split Cam/Lee. So obvious
Looks like I struck a nerve lol.
I would tell you what happened to Tony, but I wouldn’t want to spoil you 😘
(Also I’m jk I don’t know)
This dude is annoying he needs to be in a Hall Brawl with CT no joke
