- This was the first television show i taped. I was a little afraid that Martin Sargent would only want to use me for my body, but he was actually really nice. One week later the show got canceled. I asked to be on his podcast show but he won't return my calls. I think he's afraid the internet will cancel his podcast.

That sweater was actually on load from the Mobile Musuem of Gem Sweaters. It was returned to the collection after the taping. Do not worry. I do not believe the oils from her skin caused any damage to the garment.

Questions: Do you "glue-gun bling" your own ever, or is it important not to besmirch the authenticity of the original, store-bought-only gem sweater for your collection? And if you do create your own, do you take special orders? I am thinking about asking if you’d consider making a gem sweater tribute featuring the late Leonard Nimoy riding a pegasus (with requisite rainbow shooting out from behind it in sparkling solemnity.
Do you tend to prefer shrubbery, assorted foliage or a more austere, desert-like backdrop for your "natural setting" displays, or?
Did you happen to find that the gem sweater fit nicely over a back brace? How would it go with roller skates and a pair of tightie-whities?
Do you prefer beads, crystals, macaroni noodles? Are these magnificent pieces made from natural fibers or exquisite manmade fabrics, like a poly/wool/Lycra blend? Or perhaps something exotic a cat coughed up? On that note, might gem sweaters be designed for the pet set? (Either the crazy cat owner or the little precious thing itself?) I myself am allergic so I would recommend spraying the sweater with Pam before wearing- just a tip for fellow sufferers…)
On another topic - have you given thought to doing a worldwide “G.S. tour” slash/ donation drive to third world countries or maybe the White House? I’d call it something like, idk…"Spreading Gem Love Worldwide - For the Greater Glittery Good"...(I just made that up - sure use it)...Or ...perhaps if the blind could receive one, a volunteer could then describe it to them in person or audio cassette/8-track, what-have-you. No offense or derisiveness (word?) intended to the blind. It’s just that when giving of the gem sweater its beauty must be fully appreciated. Don’t you find?

It's Martin Sargent. Chances are he was in on it. He used to have a web show too called WebDrifter where he went to find oddities of the internet and interview the people behind them. He's got an odd sense of humor, but he loves the weird corners of the internet.
