Traded my Tesla Model S Plaid for the Flash Lightning. I’m never looking back 😆. What i miss from Tesla is the sentry mode, built in dash cam, pin for the glovebox and more functionality on their app and thats it. I looked at Rivian, Chevy Silverado EV and other trim levels like the XLT, Lariat and Platinum. I felt like the Flash has the most bang for your buck but take into consideration the depreciation of EVs in general is faster than EVs because technology just improves so fast. Blue Cruise is wayyy better and safer than Tesla’s autosteer.
@@sakygen we have a model S as well. It’s very fun but the suspension and overall quietness in the cab can’t even be compared. I do wish there was sentry mode on the truck.
How much Range are you getting? Im guessing you have to run it like a tesla? Don’t charge over 80% and dont go below 20% as much as you can? That been said, how long does it take to charge at home with the Level 2 charger?
Thank you for the thorough overview. I'm considering trading my Ram 1500, which I love for the EV Flash, and you gave me some great ideas for customization. I was particularly surprised that charging to 100% that there's a buffer. Thanks again.
Thanks for the complete walkthrough and sharing your thoughts. I'm seriously leaning toward this trim level but concerned about having to leave the truck outside all winter as it could not fit in my garage. I'm in eastern Canada so it gets a tad cold here for 4 months of the year. Plus the cost & PITA of running a 240v connection to my panel to the garage. It looks like my panel could not take another connection (it's from the early 70s) so would also have to be replaced.
It has been the most enjoyable to drive vehicle I’ve ever owned. I just finished up a ton of towing videos today that hopefully will all be up soon. I’m not sure how much the cold will bother these yet. I’ve seen some videos that are positive about the cold. I ran all of our 240 circuits myself at our house and our shop. I did have to change out the sub panel at our shop to have enough juice for it. It was a pain but thankfully parts aren’t to terrible. If you have a friend that has some electrical experience it isn’t too terrible. They also make some chargers with quite a long factory cable now. So you don’t have to run it too far from your panel.
I’m in a 21 Lariat PowerBoost now. Debating the Flash because our Fedeal and Provincial government (Atlantic Canada) offer a combined $10,000 rebate on EV’s and an additional $800 rebate for home charger installs. It’s very tempting.
Not sure about your provincial incentive since I'm in BC, but for the federal incentive, the Flash trim does not qualify for the $5k rebate. Only the standard range of the pro and XLT for the 2022-2024's
I just picked up a 2024 Flash in Avalanche last week. You're right, it's a nicely equipped trim level. It gives you everything you need....however, I'll admit, I really would've liked memory seats and power folding mirrors. But, at a 10k price jump to the next trim level....not really worth it at all.
The extra charge for the small things you get is pretty insane. At some point I’m going to look into putting folding mirrors in ours from a parts truck. If I do I’ll add that to here.
Oh wow no PAAK?? That is an INSTANT deal breaker for me, hands down one of my favorite feature in the Mach-e. I just automatically assumed it had PAAK….
On the 34 minute of the video you mention you will make a separate video on how to power the house with the truck without the expensive equipment Ford is selling. I didn’t find that video on your account. Can you please make one. I am very curious
For us we have a crew of 5 quite often. The extra room in the can and the drink for backpacks etc has been huge. Also the power on board is a big deal for us. We actually just used it to power a concert.
The flash is does not have cool seats, its also in between the Lariat and the XLT, not between the Lariat and the Platinum with regards with the Lightning
@ i can understand that but i don't understand why they don't include Paak on flash trim. It's an ev truck yet you can't use your phone as a key. It's just stupid I understand leather seats folding mirrors etc cost more money to build so you have to buy more expensive truck to get those options but paak is a stupid software future doesn't cost any money why all mack e comes with but only some lightning have it. It's a big let down for me. My truck could've been much more fun just being able to run with my phone in stead of a big bulky stupid fob 🤦♂️
Wonderful video. Interested in Lightings. Especially Flash. Do you get free Electricity America charging with the Flash ? I heard that this was the case from a dealer on RUclips….😮
Was looking at building one on Fords site online. For the highest trim of 85k, you can get any color interior you want as long as you choose black. Lower trim Flash has only option of a different interior color. WTF Ford?
This is the best flash walkthrough!
@@tuomasholo thank you!
lot of useful info, Thanks. Needs more likes.

We are still extremely pleased. We just towed a 6,000 pound generator 62 miles and only used 20% charge. It is a great truck.

It is worth it if your daily mileage works out. We have power boost as well. It’s much cheaper to operate the Lightning and much more fun to drive.
Could you please share the link to the floor mats? They look really cool for the price!
Have the flash model too. Been great so far. Still learning it’s in and outs.
Nice 👍
How are you activating the cooled seats? I bought a new Flash after watching your review

@@SolidGroundStaging Please do, I'd be really interested in a video like that. thanks!
You cld also get a used lariat that’s cheaper than a new flash. But you won’t get the tax credit
@@joeneonturbo true and you won't get the heat pump either. It's why I only wanted the '24s.
@ is the heat pump mainly for the cabin? If so, I cld live without. The lowest temps in my area is mid 30s and only for a few months.
Thanks for the info. I am considering one of these and this was helpful.
That’s a great package for a lot less money.
We are enjoying it!
@@SolidGroundStaging Yes, great deal. I bought the XLT standard range just before they released the Flash. I feel cheated!
I want a flash so bad, nothing I tell my family can convince them that this EV is worth it
How comfortable are the driver's seat compared to your powerboost?
I have heard these have serious software issues. Have you had any of note over the last 4 months.
Do you know if we are getting a Phone as a key?
@@ooohhBryan I wish I knew for sure. I’ve heard both ways.
No, lariat or higher

I also got Mav 3 months ago and am thinking of getting Lighting. What is the biggest practical difference between Flash vs Lariat?

it does have cool seat. i just purchased one yesterday. touch the heated seat button and turn it down for cool seat

Interesting
No phone as key on the flash :-(
It is true. I know you shouldn’t but leaving a key in and using the keypad works great.
just bought the flash yesterday and i was looking for how can i set up my phone as a key. i was pretty excited for that actually. Come on ford.
Damn. Limited. Platinum. Flash. Tesla..... Brother... Lemme get a job with ya! Ford 💪💨💯
Cooled seats? Are you sure?
Yes Sir. hit the heatd seat button and turn the knob to left for cooled seats
Are you sure this flash has cooled seats? The seats are cloth
