    I don't understand why all the RUclipsrs make such a Big Deal out of this.
    I am Raw. But IF there would be a day where I decide to eat a vegan big mac or whatever so what? next day I'm back to raw and all good. why go back to vegan? consider it as a cheatmeal and done.

      I would have to respectfully disagree with you bobby. I'm a recovering alcoholic and ex 2 pack a day smoker and I think every recovering addict in the world would have to agree that there's no benefit in relapsing on your addiction, for any reason.
      Certain foods are addicting and there's no denying that, I personally had a harder time quitting bread, meat, and sugar than i did quitting cigarettes or alcohol. So you couldn't convince me that having a cheat meal isn't relapsing.
      Edit: Sorry, I read Big mac at first, not vegan big mac.

      Well unless you are eating one of the like half of all vevitables that are poisonous raw. Fortunately most won't kill you, but a lot of them will make you sick. Like for example lima beans and kidney beans.
      This is of course a fact I rather enjoy introducing some of the more pompous vegans too whenever they actually try to argue that veganism is about healthy eating rather than an ideologically driven moralistic crusade against the farming of animals. Hell some even get uppity about keeping bees for honey... and the worst we do to them is just open their hive every once in a while to take some of the excess they aren't going to need.

    • @Penelope416
      @Penelope416 8 лет назад +2

      +Chris R kidney beans do not make me sick

    • @chrisr3120
      @chrisr3120 8 лет назад +1

      Penelope416 Not after being boiled long enough to break down the specific proteins that cause it. But if you tried to eat them raw you would find yourself suffering from food poisoning which entails vomiting and diarrhea for about 2 to 3 hours.
      www.medic8.com/healthguide/food-poisoning/red-kidney-bean-toxins.html
      By the way... You might be eating beans that are precooked. Beans that come in a can or a jar typically are cooked to help preserve them.

      +Good Night all vegans are judgemental. In fact, all humans are judgemental. If something works for one person it may not work for another. Some individuals do better on raw, others do better with cooked. And, if you want go towards the majority population, some meat eaters are healthier compared to other meat eaters. We all have a journey that will be judged.

    I think you seem like a very good natured and sweet young lady. It is very easy for a young person such as yourself speak about the energy, etc. that you experience, but, i, myself just turned 55 and also just became Vegan as of 4-8-16. While I wish I had started this journey 20 years or more ago, I have begun now. Everyone's body, metabolism, energy level and activity level varies and age DOES play a huge factor in this equation as well. I have had many days of great energy and, I feel too good to revert back to my old eating ways and, I care too much about animal life and our planet as well. Thanks for all the wealth of information that you have provided to those of us just embarking on our own unique journeys. :)))

    • @taoist32
      @taoist32 8 лет назад +5

      She won't. Just like all other vegan channels,if someone asks questions like this it will be completely ignored. Vegans are human in that they have flaws they don't want you to see or know. That means they aren't perfect, but they are very evasive and avoid anything that might compromise their vegan beliefs.

    • @Rawpublicchannel
      @Rawpublicchannel 8 лет назад +5

      Yeah it's a shame, I know everyone makes mistakes, we are human after all, but it's very misleading to promote animal products in any way (no matter how small it may be).
      It just waters down the vegan message and then people might assume that it's okay to not be completely vegan :(
      I think when you have over 500,000 followers, many of which might be just finding veganism, it's important to keep the message clear and precise.

      It doesn't look like she replies to comments at all. A lot of people don't because they don't want to waste their energy on the negativity of trolls. • @Rawpublicchannel

      I totally get that tonnes of questions are missed and/or ignored, especially if the person had a very large following, like Rawvana. Sadly, I think it's safe to assume it was/is actually not a vegan friendly accessory as she is promoting the company and their products (suede leather) do not look like they're synthetic or vegan friendly.

    Unless u have the time to just stuff ur face with high calorie exotic fruit all day - it's risky - I know this because I tried doing 100% raw twice and I just couldn't seem to eat enough calories to have the energy I needed - I would get weak, dizzy, lightheaded and just want to go to bed - but that wasn't practical for me - I'm a full time nurse and like wking out as well - however I absolutely believe in the vegan diet - it gave me tons of energy - and as u said it IS easier to eat more raw in the warmer months - and raw good should be a lot if the diet - however I think a balance is good for most people - if they don't have access to the best ripe fruit all the time!

    The reason you likely felt the cravings is because you weren't getting the nutrients you needed for balanced raw nutrition. It's good you followed the signals your body gave you.
    I myself have been 100% raw for over 15 years and I've gone through these things myself. The way most people do low fat raw is going to make them eventually have to quit. The typical way of doing LFRV restricts too many food choices and causes nutrient deficiencies.
    I've found that it's important to add in other food groups. And to not limit yourself to fruits as your main or only source of carbohydrates. I have my own Low Fat Raw system which completely defeats cooked food cravings for the long term not just a few years. And yes I still eat a lot of fruit but it's not my only source of raw carbs.
    There is a whole group of foods called Savory Raw Carbs that many raw foodists won't eat because of the way they were taught to eat raw. But these foods will leave your body feeling deeply satisfied and not only your body but your taste buds.
    You can go 100% raw vegan and thrive like you've never thrived before. But for most people it cannot be done long term how its currently taught in the low fat raw food movement.
    I'm muscular, thin and fit and I'm now half a century old. People compliment my body all of the time. Strangely enough, even young teenage girls are attracted to me and yet I'm 50.
    When you eat raw in a nutritionally balanced manner it makes you feel like a million bucks. I feel better than ever and I'm closing in on my 16th year of being 100% raw.

      Not true! Some might say the same thing about regular vegan. But when you only eat fruits and vegetables, it can be done on a very tight budget. My food budget has always been low. You just need to be smart about meal planning and where to shop. Of course, that's true of any diet! ;-)

    • @Tidushii
      @Tidushii 5 лет назад +1

      @@naturalbeautyfoods512 It's not that hard to find out what is the best nutritional and healthiest food a human can eat you just look at where on the planet people tend to live longest, healthiest and have almost no cases of obesity: Japan and what do they eat? tons and tons of raw meat, the natural diet of humans. Nothing natural about veganism NO PLANTS have Vitamins A/B6/B12/D/F/K2/amino acids/creatine/carnitine/carnosine/taurine/hemi-iron/CoQ10/CLA these a vegan would need to supplement with pills and other pharmaceuticals (sounds healthy and natural?) also veganism kills more animal life and habitat than any meat industry, those soy fields do a lot of damage look into it. Humans are designed to eat meat we have the same digestion track as dogs and simply can't break down many plants and seeds we don't have the germs for it in our intestines to break it down, most plants and seeds are very toxic to the human body in fact all we can break down from it is sugar and that's all a vegan diet is: sugar. that's why they become malnourished and lose weight. Our earliest ancestors made glorified cave paintings of buffalo, deer and other animals they hunted they never glorified fruits and plants did they? in nature you could not survive on a vegan diet but you could easily survive on eating only meat that's nature telling you enough, most fruits and plants people eat are man made anyway so what's natural about it? Vegans are just a sugar junkies always hungry and slowly killing themselves, Veganism is a death cult.

    You should do what makes you happy, but 100% raw is definitely healthier for many people, as long as they do it correctly and don't become deficient in nutrients. Also, nothing wrong with having tons of energy to spare and having amazing spiritual connection with everything! Just my opinion.

Of course the people start to comment lost the period it's unhealthy and she went to the doctors and she was unhealthy and recommend to start to eat cook meal. I am really sorry about my English but I saw the video and she is laying to the people on her English Chanel.

    It needs courage to talk about this changes when you made your name with raw lifestyle on the internet. You have my admiration. I think we just need to listen to ourselves and make the good choice for us. No one else can make it. Eating cooking food is very good too. Example: tomatoes, mushrooms... they have other benefits when they're cooked. I am a vegan 75% raw ;)

    So glad you did this video because I think so many people feel that once they go raw, all cooked foods are 'evil' or somehow unhealthy, which is so not true (as long as it's vegan). No one should feel they have to restrict themselves to one diet, as you said, listen to your body and do what feels right! I became very deficient on the raw diet and lost way too much weight, so returning to a mix of raw and cooked has balanced everything out for me. :)

    • @drewmorg.
      @drewmorg. 8 лет назад +22

      No our body does not need Starches. Starches are glue in our digestive tract. Starches need to be cooked in order to be consumed. You guys are fooling yourselves and need to do more research. Any "craving" for food our body has is simply the tickle of addiction trying to lure us back in. The fact is we have micro bacteria in our guts that help us digest food. They grow in numbers depending on what kind of food we put into our system. They send signals to your brain to eat MORE OF THAT FOOD and it is very hard to break the cycle. No animals in nature cook food. Period.

    I was watching John Rose for awhile and I believe in his message but at the same time - it's just not realistic - most people nowdays unfortunately don't have full gardens and a ton of fruit trees in their back yard - and even if they do - it's a full time effort and expense to put all the raw organic materials and fight off wild life that come to steal it- (ha ha) although it's prob cheaper than whole foods - but my point is - we do the best we can in the 21st century as everything seems to b polluted and not everyone is lucky enough to live in a paradise-like climate to have the highest quality abundant supply of these foods all the time - I think one needs to b mindful of what the healthiest things are for them whether they are vegan or all raw - u can b a junky cooked vegan but u could also b a unhealthy raw vegan if I don't know what exactly ur doing - it takes an effort to have optimal health nowdays - and it's not just about food - there's many factors that play a part in health!

    I've been a vegetarian for 30 years now after having read John Robbins' "Diet for a New America". That being said, it's only been in the last year that I have moved from simple vegetarianism to fully vegan. But like you, I feel much better on what is now for me an 80/20 raw to vegan cooked foods diet....Also, like you, it makes socializing so much easier! The important thing for me though, is to "lightly" cook foods so they are tasty, but not to overcook them like most people do. I still want at least the majority of the nutrients intact. I am Cooking, Juicing, Sprouting, Dehydrating, and Blending most of what I am trying to garden-grow for myself and my small family. Fun, Healthy, and totally Fulfilling. Couldn't agree with your decision more. Cheers!

    Raw organic vegan is the only way (in the end) so until we get to that level, we are all failures (to varying degrees below that threshold of correctness). But as humans, we'll still come up with excuses and justifications and "reassuring/feelgood" things to say until we achieve raw organic veganism (with ferments and sprouted food included obviously into the "raw" category).

      Digestion. Done Raw Till 4 perfectly for 2.5 years with the pre-requisite insane amounts of exercise. I lost weight, I saw tons of benefits. But I am transitioning to raw for this simple reason. Anyone more interested in this should look into Mucous forming foods in your digestive tract. Rice is a big one. I am a 5'10 lean 150 pound male and I had a bulging gut all day every day on RT4 even eating around 2500 calories. I had gas 80% of the time. I still think cooked food can be eaten in very small quantities but we should not be fooling ourselves. Trust me I tried every single variation to get things to work and finally gave up.
      PS Raw vegan was NEVER a goal of mine and I never saw the benefit until recently.

      You are confusing grains and legumes with cooked.
      Do an experiment on yourself. Whatever you are eating raw now, cook it for the next 3 days and see what happens. ;-)
      Grains and legumes are inflammatory which is why vegans who eat a lot of it often have IBS.
      [I had gas 80% of the time.]
      Look up the science on where and how your grains and legumes are digested.

    • @drewmorg.
      @drewmorg. 8 лет назад +6

      danL1011 Why would I cook something to kill all the living enzymes and further degrade nutritional properties of the food? Not to mention the denaturing, dehydrating, and changing of the food. The cooked food experiment is over for me as far as I am concerned. I may eat some cooked food in the future but I would probably limit to relatively plain baked potatoes or sweet potatoes and maybe steamed veggies. The whole point of cooking is to be able to eat foods we wouldn't normally be able to eat raw... that should tell you something about its digestibility in the human body right there. A lot of cooked vegan foods are still acid and mucous forming. They do not slide through the digestive tract as raw food does. I did Raw Till 4 very cleanly 90% of my tenure and I went weeks cooking every single meal at home and eating tons of fruit. I am now on Day 19 of a 100% juice feast and I am STILL POOPING SOLIDS.. what more proof do you need that cooked food does not digest properly if I am still crapping it out after almost 3 weeks?
      As far as grains and legumes there are tons of raw foodists who eat them sprouted (uncooked) with good digestibility all the time. Cooked beans are almost universally known to give people gas and I was no exception on the RT4 diet.

    • @danL1011
      @danL1011 8 лет назад +1

      drewmorgan
      [Why would I cook something to kill all the living enzymes and further degrade nutritional properties of the food?]
      To conduct an experiment so that you don't confuse cooked with grains and legumes. See also below on potato.
      [The cooked food experiment is over for me as far as I am concerned.]
      Too bad you don't understand the findings from your experiment. It has to do with your confusion. See above on experiment.
      [I may eat some cooked food in the future but I would probably limit to relatively plain baked potatoes or sweet potatoes and maybe steamed veggies.]
      You may ask yourself why a potato needs to be cooked to be edible. Hint: nutritional properties are not the only thing degraded by cooking. See below on sprouting.
      [100% juice feast and I am STILL POOPING SOLIDS...what more proof do you need that cooked food does not digest properly if I am still crapping it out after almost 3 weeks?]
      This only proves you don't understand digestion. Perhaps you should learn what solid waste represents. Are you of the misguided opinion that just because you juiced an orange, you can't poop solids???
      [As far as grains and legumes there are tons of raw foodists who eat them sprouted (uncooked) with good digestibility all the time. Cooked beans are...]
      Beans are legumes.
      [The whole point of cooking is to be able to eat foods we wouldn't normally be able to eat raw...]
      Well, at least you got that part correct.
      [that should tell you something about its digestibility in the human body right there.]
      Funny you don't apply the same logic to "sprouted". Is sprouting somehow magical to a raw vegan even though it has the exact same effect as cooking in terms of making something edible?
      [Cooked beans are almost universally known to give people gas and I was no exception on the RT4 diet.]
      Why would you think RT4 would exempt you? It's just a catchy term created by a girl who eats 50 bananas a day and made a lot of gullible teenage girls sick and fat.
      Now see if you can disconnect cooked from grains and legumes.
      You might also want to do some research on what your 100% juice feast is doing to your liver and pancreas and your blood lipids.
      FullyRawKristina's blood work after 9 years raw vegan raises a few alarms which her vegan doctor glosses over or totally ignores. Watch it on YT and see if you can spot them. That are actually noted in the report displayed.

    • @drewmorg.
      @drewmorg. 8 лет назад +2

      danL1011 I am still unsure why you keep poking me with this rice and legumes statement. Is it because I said rice is mucous forming? Cooked grains are mucous forming. The "magic" of sprouting grains and legumes is that you do not destroy the enzyme properties of the food which helps you digest them. Cooking destroys that quality.
      100% juice feast is cleansing all organs of elimination (liver, kidneys, intestines, colon). If you have evidence to show me the contrary I'd love to see it.
      [This only proves you don't understand digestion. Perhaps you should learn what solid waste represents. Are you of the misguided opinion that just because you juiced an orange, you can't poop solids???]
      Please enlighten me of what comes out. You are the master so please share, with sources so that I may verify and read for myself. I have already busted one person today blatantly copying his answer from a random Yahoo Q&A who tried to argue with me.
      Currently I've seen all colors, shapes, sizes, and consistencies come out of me even through today (twice). I strain all of my fruit juices so there is virtually no sediment going into the juices. There are also many fasting masters like Loren Lockman and John Rose who have seen, time and time again, their patients pass dark black hardened rubberized material probably bottled up in their small intestines.

    Rawvana I can totally relate to what you said about feeling connected to the earth. There was a time that I did a juice cleanse for about 3 weeks nothing but organic raw juice. And I experience something that I can't fully describe other than my senses were so in heightened. I saw the earth through high definition and all I wanted to do was to just go be in the forest. At the time I used to shave my head bald and I decide to grow my hair out during that fast. My natural hair color is brown and a grew back almost black. People thought that I died my hair that's how dark it was. For a whole month after the cleanse I didn't even need to wear deodorant because my system was so clean. It Was an amazing experience!

    The weight thing is because when you cook the food you make it easier for your body to digest, so it digests more of the food, thus you intake more calories and gain weight as a result.

  • @VivianGalespiritproductions

    The 3 1/2 years you ate raw healed your body so going vegan and adding some cooked foods after 3 years is okay. But it's easy to slip backward. I feel preparing raw food dishes is a lot quicker than cooked meals. Every Friday I cut up my veggies, onions etc,. It makes meal prep during the week easier and I make a big salad. I will alternate Fridays and make a desert for the week and raw crackers. For breakfast, I'll have a smoothie and I only eat 2 meals a day now. Around noon and dinner between 4-5pm. Occasionally a light snack at night or just herbal tea. I have only eaten all raw occasionally but feel better eating some organic meats like chicken, fish, shrimp, crab etc. We have to listen to our bodies like you said. It's a process going raw or changing our diet in any way. Thanks for sharing.

    I noticed you were different right away. You sound more relatable now.
    I started off on a raw til 4 style diet and sometimes ate raw all day. My mood was elevated. I was happy, loved nature and probably came off a little crazy to some lol. I believe that this is because of the extremely low amounts of fats though, since I still ate cooked.
    After eating less raw I also stop fearing good fats like avocados and cashews and almonds ^_^ I think balance is achieved when we listen to our bodies. I live in California and I was so cold during summer nights lol. This was definitely not normal. so more cooked or more fat... I'm not sure what causes the change but, like you said, I too feel more grounded. plus I love potatos and rice and always craved them the most during raw vegan challenge weeks. I now enjoy craving kale salads instead lol ^_^
    Much Love!!
