Translation: John has tapped out of the show
It's a sad say when even John has to agree that a Disney product does not make sense...😂😂😂
The writing though....🙄
The writing is great! It's on the wall. It brings a franchise to a fall...
From what i've read, he's approved everything and given notes 🤡💀💀💀 he didn't tap out
@@jjotto3585The sad part is. He did agree. If you check the special features, he approved and give notes on all scenes
You can have a great lightsaber fight, but if you don't care about the characters then it's just visual noise.
Yup, thats exactly what happened with the prequels
Not caring about the characters is subjective. If you don't care at this point, then just stop watching.

I think since the master was there she scraped her plans since she knew he would kill everybody. She went fight or flight and chose flight 😂😂
and because if she did anything, the moment they see Kelenca dead, they would 100% blame her, as she was in the room alone.
Qimir baited the shit out of her. and she fell into his trap, and basically fkd herself by mistake

But when she met up with her sister why knock her out? The fights over leave with your sister and Sal thats was your plan.

Acolyte was written by 30 people who did not talk to each other about the plot in the series and the studio mush all writings together.
That was the plan until she realized her master was there
So she chickened out... but at the same time she tries to infiltrate the Jedi to kill them?? What?
She was ready to surrender before jecki dropkicked her lol

The plan changed the moment she knew that the Sith Master was there.
Why? And after the fights over she could have just went with her sister and Sal. Why turn evil and steal your sisters identity? It's dumb
@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord Narratively, I get where you are coming from, but this is consistent with how Mae was when she last saw Osha. She wanted her to pick her and instead....once again she chose The Jedi despite knowing that Sol has left some details out about that incident.
@@jonathanalverna6540 but remember Osha shot at her in episode 2. She clearly choose the jedi then so what is the surprise now? I thought she wanted to build a relationship again not have it magical handed to her. We're is the logic her you can't tell me honestly this males sense.
And your right Mae is consistent she is consistent at making absolutely no sense naking and illogical decisions.
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord How clear was that tho? Looked like she missed on purpose to me. Even if she thought she wasn't on her side, I dont see why Mae couldn't have thought that talking to Osha would change things considering they thought each other were dead and they are the only family they have.
I'm pretty sure "The Master" actually being on that planet changed her mind completely...
Mae’s fear got the best of her, the actions of a dark side user
@@luisdavidmunoz8202 Mae running away was her best acting in this show so far. I believed she was scared as she should be!
Best episode by far. Loved the fight scenes and death’s.
Mae is entirely motivated right now out of fear of the dark master's retribution.
She only agreed to become an acolyte in order to hunt the four Jedi whom she thought were responsible for murdering her sister, Osha. But once she found Osha was alive, her motivation switched to figuring out how she could safely escape the master without dying. Multiple times she expressed she wanted to escape the dark master but couldnt because he would kill her.
That's when she had the plan to turn herself in. At the time, Mae thought she could be protected if she turned herself in and told the Jedi what she knew. She thought the Dark Master had no idea where she was because they were on a remote planet.
But when she found Kelnacca dead, and then saw the Dark Master was, in fact, there, the fucking plan changed man. Her plan to turn herself in doesnt work anymore.
The Jedi think she killed Kelnacca. Qimir set her up to ensure she had nowhere to run to.
So at the end, she switches places with her sister so she can survive.
Listen, you don't have to like the show but damn at least pay attention if you watch it.
I wish the show runners had hired you write this
I think she panicked because she knew her master was going to kill her for her disloyalty, she probably just wanted to get away as none the Jedi were powerful enough to protect her in that moment.
Because she said he wouldn't make the trip. But since he was already there everything changed.
The reason why Mae was running, was because she knew the moment they saw a dead Kelnaca she is 100% not going to talk herself out of it.
Qimir baited her.
She traded place with her sister, because she realizes she cannot escape Qimir, so she will kill Sol to prove to him that she is the true acolyte, though...
Osha is going to be shown what Sol did 15 years ago, and Osha will be the end season true Acolyte, and will kill Mae at the end.
That's my theory.
What was Qimirs plan tho
He killed Kelnacca leaves and then comes back with Mae because...?
Shes already killed two jedi. Makes no difference.
@@emptyblank099a needs to kill one with no weapon...
I think Mae & Osha are going to work together and put their hands together like their Mom showed them, using the thread to overcome the force....
I say that knowing that wont happen, cause that is what competent writers would do
@@Pointman11111Mae “tied up” Qimir and then continued on foot to, Kalnacca, Darth Qimir flies, so I’d imagine getting around quicker and stealthier in a dense jungle
Definitely felt like an honest reaction 😂
John really didn't pay attention did he? 🤔
this episode was a mindless, thoughtless eye candy, thats it...an empty beautiful shell:)
She saw that master was here, was scared shitless and all she wanted to do was get out of there. It makes sense.
I think that plan went out the window when she witnessed Qimir reveal himself and then proceed to kill all the Jedi.
She wanted to be in custody to protect her from the Sith Lord but that went out the windows once he was there...
So later in the episode why not allow Osha and sol to take her into custody like her orginal plan. Did she not want to build a relationship with her sister? How can she do that by knocking her out and stealing her identity?
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord She only wanted to turn herself in as a means of protection from the dark master. But with the dark master presumably killed by bugs, she had no reason to go with the Jedi. She hates the Jedi and blames them for taking her sister away.
That's why she knocks out Sol. But after that Osha still tries to arrest her. That's when Mae decides to switch places with Osha. I don't think Mae knew Qimir was still alive at this point, so she probably didn't think switching would put Osha in any real harm. Meanwhile, Mae might have some plan to still get revenge against the Jedi for brainwashing her sister.
@@deewolf1903 "presumably killed by bugs"
So hold bro are you seriously telling me you saw thats scene and honestly thought it makes sense to think a sith lord just died to some space bugs after this dude just killed 6 jedi? You can't be serous my guy
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylordDid you not watch the episode? Mae claims Osha is brainwashed and Osha's attempt to arrest her reaffirms that to Mae. As for the switch...its pretty obvious she wants Sol alone for an inevitable confrontation.
@@jonathanalverna6540 so answer me this if Mae believes she's brainwashed why not tell her the freaking truth whats does knocking her out and stealing her cloths archive? Yea I heard what she said but what she said doesn't align her actions.
She just said last episode she doesn't want revenge but now its back on again? So what freaking was the point of denying her master then? So what she's done is worsen the relationship with her sister worsen the relationship with her master for no reason because she doing what she was going to do. It's dumb and convoluted you know maybe this why she should have talked to her sister first before making a life decision like this. I thought she didn't because she didn't care and was willing to do what was necessary to earn her sister's love. But apparently she just wanted it handed to her without any work whatsoever. That might seem logical to you but to me that's the complete opposite.
Fights were pretty awesome. So many questions left after the ep
I'm starting to think John is doing this on purpose. Mae was going to turn herself into the Jedi, but I believe that was BEFORE her master showed up and started killing everybody. That is when she decided to make her get away.
John is doing this on purpose...he's lying about the show because there was nothing wrong about episode 5...
I think Mae didn't try to explain things to Jecki is because she's not going to believe her since she is known to be a Jedi killer. Jecki seemed very convinced that Mae killed Kelnacca.
Mei first reaction was to run because Darth Teeth was there. Come on pay attention.
She got scared because she knew she chose the losing side at that point
I get the sense that Qimir is actually a Sith apprentice who's trying to recruit an acolyte to help him overthrow his master. Maybe Mae knows this, or suspects it, and she went to the Jedi to try to get rid of Qimir so that she can become the apprentice to the true Sith master.
Had Mae figured out Quimer was the Sith master? Had she thought of a plan to manipulate him and the Jedi?
Finally john you may see it. This is Disney Star Wars! They think just because it's star wars we will buy it......WRONG!!!
If the Jedi can sense thoughts, why did Sol not immediately know that was Mae despite her freshly burned hair tips 😂
if they were good writers they would've made Mae know the guy was the master and forced his hand, but she actually had no idea it was him, RIPPPPP
Why?! Mae is conflicted and Darth Teeth admits that he's good at hiding.
Funny how Star Wars makes everyone suddenly think they're a writer
@@godofthecripples1237 anyone older than 5 should be able to tell a coherent story.
Maybe Mae just thought Qimir was another acolyte and went to the Jedi to force his hand and get rid of the competition. But she had no idea that Qimir was the master or how powerful he was.
Wah wah wah.😢
She's trying to survive the sith when fighting the jedi. They're all dying and she will too if the jedi take her. She's scared of her master.
Then why did she knockout sol and runaway? To then knock out her sister to run back to sol?
@@emptyblank099a She knocked out Sol after it was presumed the sith lord was dealt with (he was taken by the bugs). She thought she had no reason to fear the dark master, but she also couldn't trust Sol. Her motivation was her sister, the only true, safe connection she has ever had in life (though Mae has a troubling love/hate obsession with Osha)
It was def better then the last 2 episodes
She just wants to reunite with her sister. Last episode she thought had two options, kill the Wookie jedi or to surrender to the jedi and have a chance at being reunited with her sister. Surrender seemed like a better option. This episode she realized she didn't need to surrender because her sister is literally there. I don't think it's that complicated.
Jekki really didn’t give her a choice to explain her side of the story, plus I don’t think Mae wanted to surrender, but saw it as her only means of getting reunited with her sister…thus leading to their prolonged discussion and the way it turned out at the end of the episode
She said she'd turn herself in because she felt safe that the master wouldn't be able to find her. That plan failed because the master was already there and now she's running for her life. The Jedi attacked her and she just defended herself. She's literally been trying to escape the entire episode.
She said she would turn herself into the Jedi. Now that the master is there, that would make her even more inclined to get their help. Instead she’s arguing with sol.
She actively tried to kill the Jedi in the episode. Remember the knife to the neck scene?
@@jaredvesterexactly
@@Nathan-zs2oqmaybe you should watch the ep again. She never said a damn thing to Sol until she disguised herself as Osha. All she did was knock him out with the gun and tried to escape with her sister.
@@CoolFaceQuan she literally said that osha being alive changes everything and that she would turn herself into the Jedi. Why would she knock out Sol, or even try and slit the throat of Jackie or whatever x-23 name is
Mae said she will surrender to Kelnacca. But that was before she found out Kelnacca and 4 other Jedis have been killed by her Master who will come after her next. Mae told Qimir in episode 4 that the Jedi would not put her in prison once she tells them what she knows. She thought she had a bargaining chip. Too late, the Jedi are already dead and no one will save her from her Master. At this point, all she can do is run for her life. Jecki attacked her first, Mae was only defending herself. Mae did not know that Osha was brainwashed, she thought she could reconnect with Osha. The only two options for Mae to get out of this planet are the Jedi ship or Qimir's ship. She found a way to get on the Jedi ship so she can get away from the Sith that is trying to kill her. Once you've already tapped out of a show, you start neatpicking. This was a great episode. Stop watching if you don't like it.
Jhon so confused of the direction of this series just like director does 😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Well no? She was prepared to do that when she has the opportunity to talk to Kelnacca and when she thought she could tie up Qimir and her master would never know.
Instead Kelnacca was already dead, and the Jedi were ready to arrest her immediately without there being time for her to explain and have someone already on her side (would have been Kelnacca).
Instead, her master who she betrayed shows up and Mae is terrified and sees her only option as escaping from everyone (especially because Jecki attacking her and trying to arrest her means they STILL have made their decision about her).
The whole point is that Mae doesn’t trust the Jedi, she trusts Osha and she trusts her experience of the events that happened on her home planet. It’s evident. That’s why she needed Kelnacca alive for her plan to work.
She was clearly conflicted. She wanted to be with her sister but at the same time she also hated the jedis for what they did or at least what she taught they did. She was also afraid of attempting to kill a wookie without a weapon too and she was clearly afraid of the stranger
my biggest issue is the sith dude dispatched MULTIPLE jedi knights and jedi masters attacking him simultaneously in mere seconds but dude takes like 15 minutes to kill 1 Padawan.
and the helmet supposedly protects him from jedi mind probes but yet he can still enter the jedi's mind? shouldn't it block it both ways?
the bracer that temporarily disables the lightsaber on contact is a cool new gadget though.
Agreed on all points…also, it sucks that there really was no audience connection to the Jedi who were killed, so their death scenes, as great as they were, were like “whoa!…meh, ok”
Exactly.....make us care please.....zero investment in these characters
John please don’t take this the wrong way, but this complaint is so dumb. She wanted to go with the Jedi for safe haven from the Sith Lord. Now that he’s here and is killing Jedi, if she’s pinned down by a Jedi then he’ll get to her because he’s going after them. She’s trying to escape him. That’s why she switches at the end of the episode. She’s running from the maniac who will kill her
I see.
❤
Or she could of helped them defeat him, He kept catching up to her and she knows he's powerful what makes her think she can outrun him?
My favorite part is how he force pulls 1 jedi to insta-kill them, but cuts Mae's bindings... to then try and kill her. Chases her and uses a force push instead of a pull... I hate when choreography is done like this to avoid killing someone for plot sake.
Jecki came at her aggressively when she was gonna turn herself in of course she was gonna fight back
This episode rocked bro.
The show is great, until someone opens their mouth.
Because she's terrified of her Master, so now she's trying to escape.
This was a very good episode.
John, she WAS going to turn herself into the Jedi, but once she found the dead Wookiee Jedi, she knew that she would never be able to convince the Jedi that she didn't do it, so she panicked and ran/attacked them.
Omg...she didn't run and attack anyone..she walked outside and Jecky drop kicked her and it was on....did you even watch it???....oh my Lord.
@@dbapto6994 and then tried to arrest her... lol. She then proceed to try and kill Jecki.
He sounded so.stressed out explaining this lol..we all need therapy after watching this series.
She said very clearly she ONLY cares about her sister. She doesn't give a shit about the Jedi or her master. But when he showed up that changed the dynamic. The first chance she had at seeing her sister and Osha shoots her. But she still tries to talk to her and reason with her but that fails too. She only ever wanted to get close to her sister. That's why she was willing to go with them. But that will no longer work.
It's not that complicated people if you just fucking pay attention.
So she left her sister to die at the end because ________???

@@gamingeagle19 Um Mae switched with Osha knowing that Qimir wanted her (Mae) dead.
Mae's relationship with Osha is complex and obsessive. Hating Osha while at the same time desperate for the connection they once had. Mae was definitely motivated to reunite with her sister but the switch at the end really wasn't done out of love.
I think Mae is looking out for herself in this instance.
Uh no, she was going to turn herself in to the Jedi so it wasn’t only for her sister, if you just pay attention. Also she gets up pretty quickly for the blast but a Jedi takes forever.
The Stranger arriving probably changed that, also she was defending herself from a Jedi who didn't know about her plan to turn herself in. She was in a no win situation after finding the Wookie dead.
It's also interesting she spent the whole episode running away
Her entire situation is just full of fear which I can totally understand that mask guy totally is a fierce opponent even tho he also is someone who doesn't follow rules makes it even more dangerous
The Acolyte has been good, this last episode was fantastic.
You ignored that her Master showed up, something she didn't expect to happen and the Jedi get slaughtered? Knowing that her Master was on to her and going to kill her? She went into survival mode. How is everyone ignoring this?
Right! I thought the same thing. Fight scenes were awesome. Like LEGIT. However, that doesn’t entirely save the story. MAE’s turn, was turned again! Also…know that we know who Smylo Ren is, there’s a large gap in how he fits into Mae and Osha’s story, and how he even seems to know the truth of what the Jedi did.
Also, Smylo Ren’s reveal was undercut by the fact that he’s the ONLY character it could’ve been, even though they through-in the red herring of it being one of Mae and Osha’s mother’s.
But, I’ll give credit where it’s due, the Smylo Ren Sith character is kinda cool.
John u were the smart one😂 i should gave tapped out to but i watched it til the end and my head hurts from all quick turns!!
I think there are a few ways to explain the problem you pointed out.
The biggest thing points to what Jord was telling Osha when he was trying to escort her away from the fight. It was something along the lines of "he gets in your head and stays there." I don't remember the exact lines, but there were implications that he had borderline hypnotic powers. Mae seeing him, even through the window or peephole or whatever could have put her into a confused, frantic, or even violent state.
But also, it's one thing to want to be arrested and escorted when you think you're safe, when you think your only real obstacle was this dippy guy who you strung up in the forest. It's another thing to be willing to be arrested when there's a violent, saber-wielding fiend slaying people left and right outside, and he's there for YOU. Let's not pretend like we would all keep our cool in that situation, especially when we get dropkicked.
When the blonde haired girl got stabbed three times it made me wonder why now are they remembering how light sabers work instead of the baseball bat style we been seeing
It sounds like may is trying to attack from the inside
I liked the spectacle and I think the shock value is fine. I don't care about the characters and don't really understand them but at this point, I just want to see some neat fights.
The writers have no clue what they wrote 😂 how did Disney approve this show! Blows my mind 🤔🤯. Did they really sit down and all agree that this is good Star Wars!?
Hairdressers in Star Wars use Lightsabers!! 😂
When you resort to youtube shorts cause its all you need 😂
Exactly! And, you didn't even mention that in the last episode when she changed her mind to turn herself in....we said the same exact thing. What? How did you change your mind so quickly?
I mean, did you not hear her sister soundly reject her? Based on the flashback she does not respond well to the idea that her sister wouldn't want to always be with her the way she wants to. She'll blame anyone for her sister's rejection, except the one causing it. Just my read
The master showed up and ruined everything. She was going to out him. She framed herself by coming out of the hut with the lightsaber.
Uhhh ... She clearly saw the writing on the wall when qimir showed up. She wasn't about to be captured and killed when she knew he was going to kill everyone.
Maybe pay attention when you're watching the show.
So this amazing powerful Sith can mow down a bunch of Jedi, but can be easily taken away by flying Rollie Pollies.....
I will say Chapter 5 has to be my favorite episode, but unfortunately I agree. I don't understand the back and forth with Mae. It doesn't make sense. This is incoming from someone that actually likes the show (with the exception of episode 4. That episode was a slap in the face for anyone that is watching).
Her mind set changed when she saw her sister, simple
It's Mae, acting as Osha, that walked off w/Sol at the end of this latest ep to kinda justify what she proclaimed in the previous ep re: giving up to the Jedi.
It seems Mae's gonna infiltrate & get her revenge on as much Jedi as possible in the guise of Osha. That'd be interesting if they didn't show Play-Play Palpatine seem to start getting ready to rescue Osha b/c Sol & Mae thinks they're the sole survivors.
I'm not saying the writing for this show is starting to make sense: I'm trying to piece together the plot, too!
The Acolyte NEEDED this The-Boys- & HotD-type action episode to save the series from being a total failure but it further proves a well-thought out plot is just as relevant.
Shit! I completely forgot there was even an episode today! Guess I'm watching tomorrow
I read the subtext of my master just fucked their shit up, bad plan try to wing it.
To everyone who says she decided to fight or run either way was because they would think she killed him. What? I mean she's already killed several Jedi so what is it matter if she did or not how would that change anything?
I felt Mae was defending herself from attack but I really think she was just scared the sith was going to kill her and the Jedi were not going to be able to protect her. But it was confusing at the very least.
Just the good old boys. Before the empire 😅
A spectacle that lacked any meaningful substance is what this episode was.
I know John’s comprehension is better than this. I think he’s subconsciously already tapped out.😅
I think people think too narrow. Mae probably felt high and mighty when Qimir was strung to a tree. But when the Master shows up shes all.about survival and running....why would she hand herself over as they getting annihilated by the guy that also wants to kill her for betrayal? It's a stupid argument. Just because she is willing to stop doesn't mean her morals and beliefs automatically change. Seeing the corpse of Kalnakka was probably very demoralizing...
So reading the comments, I realized what the issue is. This series has been telling us, not showing us.
Once again this show gives us a promise of a big battle and takes it away by killing hal😊f the jedi offscreen. If we actually got to see the battle, see the full struggle, we might be able to better understand Mae's turnaround on her turnaround. Us getting to observe the emotional impact on her as she witnesses her master kill a bunch of Jedi with ease would indicate she might not want to risk being confined & in a place the master could get to easily if he kills a the jedi present.
Well she's clearly been fear shocked back into trying to be back in his good graces. Seeing they are all getting slaughtered by him.
It’s called fear bro! Lmfao as soon as she knew her master was on planet she had an immediate change of heart! Who the fuck wouldn’t!? Lmfao!! Did you see him effortlessly kill all those Jedi AND bugs!? Come on how is that a question!? Hahahaha
What’s the verdict? Tapping out or sticking it out?
Teenagers tend to deviate their action , and by the logic of "you don't know what material they used" we also don't know what type of mindset of the people who easily doing interstellar culture.
I was trying to go along with it and then the sisters spoke to each other and I said who is writing this crap, then she light saber cuts her hair and puts on her sisters’ clothes and when Sol asks her ,”where is she?”, SMH😂, her written dialogue is her saying “who?”, I don’t think I can watch any more
Writing is elementary. Fighting is good and acting is pretty good. I don’t think I remember being five episodes into an eight show run before and not know what any of the characters are doing. Like no clue what their goals are….
Mae will be discovered as pretending to be Osha because she doesn't have the tattoo Osha has.
Her turning herself in was conditional on her her master not being there which he was. Then it became about escaping…..
I think it was different John. When she found the Wookie Jedi dead (I’m gonna butcher his name if I spell it out) she knew they would think she killed him, so she was defending herself. My humble guess.
She's already killed several Jedi though, so what's it matter?
@@Nataku007 Excellent point. I was thinking back to other shows/movies when the character was defending themselves from their hunters in an effort to prove their innocence. But to your point she has been guilty. Def a flaw, thank you for pointing that out. I was blinded by the action 😅
@@Nataku007 Mae only planned to turn herself into the Jedi as a way to escape the sith master. She thought he was nowhere near the planet and she could turn herself in to be safe and protected, and maybe reunite with her sister.
But then she watched Qimir slaughtering Jedi after framing her for Kelnacca's murder so.. that plan went out the window. The only plan after that was to GTFO. When Qimir was presumably mauled to death by cicadas, she resumed her plan to escape with her sister Osha.
Unfortunately for Mae, Osha still doesnt want anything to do with her.
Maybe she's a borderline force user. We haven't got this one in Star Wars yet.
Agreed, fight scenes not bad... literally everything else was shit.
Maeve has been brainwashed, she will do whatever she can to survive she has allegiance to no one unless they can do something for her. She’s evil, I believe that is why she quotes Anakin from episode 3
You need to see episode 6, it’s so bad it’s funny
Literally feels like the sequels.. lets use the same characters but not continue with the story we were just telling… 1 director tells a story, and the next director tells another, but uses the same characters
I thought it was a good episode the action was awesome. Also if you listen carefully with the music you can hear a little bit of Kylo Ren theme.
Don't listen to this guy...He did not pay any attention. To the episode. No disrespect. He is an intelligent man, but doesn't know his ass from his elbow concerning this series and is hell bent on discrediting it.
I thought the most bs thing this show has done is the Sol leaving the dead Jedi bodies on that planet to rot
