    Mikaela mentioned Alex’s great attitude. I was also just blown away by how super positive he was when they first interviewed him at the hospital. I even mentioned his positivity to my wife. Those two make a great couple. Hope they both have the best possible outcome and get back on the mountain.

    All the best to all the racers injured this year. It is difficult to watch this year due to all the crashes. What other sport do you see such a high number of the best athletes being yarded off the hill by helicopter?!! Crazy! Stay safe people!

      It's very hot in Europe. Soft snow means dangerous ruts. After all these injuries some of the downhills were cancelled.

    Get well soon sweet cutie pie 💋🥂🤗🥂👍💋, turn back to entertain us fans, turn back to give us suuuuper maximum emotional impact, let us dream again Mika...a lot of other girls crashed like saying, well if Shiffrin did it, we can do it😢😢😢 that's the terrible trend afterwards, that kind of safety, confidence, being brain power focused on the race is vanishing and you start to get sick, skiing becomes a terror for athlets to get hurt or even worse, never ricover anymore...it feels like having a heart attack guys😢😢😢

    maybe no more speed events from now on for Mikaela and just focus 100% on SL and GS racing going forwards ? Shes already the all time best ski racer with the most World Cup wins so each next success is just more icing on the cake...but Alex has to get back in the start house for the DH event because hes not as good at the technical events...DH is more of a health risk and even with Alex`s expert coaching tips this season the best thing it taught Mikaela is just how to survive a high speed crash into the netting with only getting serious injuries but not killed... Seems to me being forced to end a career only due to suffering with too many injuries like Lindsey Vonn did, but still having more goals in competitive skiing isnt so nice of away to have to go out...

      I think we need to invent AI emergency deployment air systems to soften the hits. Horseback riding as well. All high impact need innovative safety inventions. Let's create!

      Lindsey vonn suffered a lot, bc she was not in perfect harmony w a certain aspect. Energy n emotions matter. Traing is a lot as well.

    Mikaela, Mikaela, please no more downhills. Downhills are for the expendables. Downhillers know there is a big crash in their future, they just do not know when. Team USA and your fans need you in the other disciplines.

      It’s part of the sport. She needs the points for the overall and she’s good enough to win on occasion in DH. Ski racers can get injured in all of the disciplines. I’m afraid folks will just have to get over it.

      It’s funny how people who don’t ski race think they are giving advice. People don’t race just because. It’s a sport and ski racers enjoy what they do; especially downhill! Speed is life. Without downhill, it just wouldn’t be as fun. I know people want to live vicariously through their sports heroes and worry about their well being; but I’m afraid it’s up to the athlete.

    • @bobdavis2689
      @bobdavis2689 5 месяцев назад +1

      Agreed, donald.
      To those who encourage folks to race downhill, pay attention to basic physics: energy = mass X velocity squared. Squared!
      So twice the speed = four times the energy.
      The dissipation of that energy is what causes serious injuries. Tho one rationalizes, you can't escape basic physics.
