Looks smooth from our POV but look at the chop in the slow motion around the 1:50 mark in the video and that is at the TOP of that course so you KNOW her legs were BURNING by the bottom. Mika is in super strong shape at the START of each season. Just amazing and she deserves this WIN!!!

Sara Hector, You were leaning too much to either side. Watch a video of Jean-Luc Brassard. He was the 1994 Olympic moguls champion. His techniques are very applicable to slalom. Many say he was the greatest of all time. If you try to keep your posture straight up and down, you should do better. He generally just moves his knees up and down. His belt level barely moves at all. He virtually does not move his upper body side to side (only his legs). Study his videos well. They should help you.

Katharina Huber, You were looking pretty good before you fell. Don't feel too bad. You do need to keep in mind that you don't want to get in the back seat. That will shoot you off the snow too often. Plus the braking slows you down.

Nina, You were skiing a much different course. Don't let your performance bother you too much. It looked like you were having trouble even keeping your skis on the snow. I know they have much different skis these days, but even though DFLEX makes the skis heavier (and so probably makes you slower from ski to ski), you would probably have been better off with DFLEX on your skis, especially since you had to ski the rutted track. It's just a thought. Perhaps you should have both types of skis???

Mikki! Yea! Congrats on your amazing victory in Levi 2024. You skied amazing!

St. Germain, What were you doing starting so late? You won the slalom a couple of years ago. It looked like you were braking far too much. It looked like you needed to try to take a higher line in many cases. Any time a course is steep and ICY, you usually want to try harder than normal to take a higher line. Just my two cents. You are probably out of practice. Best Wishes going forward.

Popovic, You were far too hard on your edges. You need to try harder to be light on your edges and to carve more. When you are that hard on your edges, it usually means you are much too much in the back seat (bad and slow). You need to correct this as quickly as you can. I have been guilty of this myself, so I am not trying to cast stones.

I'm American so of course I root for Mikaela but I love the way that Katharina Liensberger skis and how humble she appears.

Kept her skis on the snow. Edges always doing her bidding. Rhythmic power in her lower body.
