Sir you played one of the most mystic, intense, villanous characters Ive ever encountered let alone in a game but in general, I could feel so intimidated by any word that came out of the constants mouth, absoloutely amazing performance, I say the same for all the cast, truly high level performance, but you sir were scary as no other. Wish you the very best in your career and in your life.
God level voice and dialogue as The Constant, Mr. Philip. First heard you in Hitman 2 but have been dabbling with the Hitman series since Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. You have David on a run for his money hahahaha.
Please stick around as The Constant, the series will go downhill if you leave, The Constant is just too awesome!

@@thegoat9691 John def doesn’t look older than Grey. Oddly enough, same was with Aaron Keener. Every appearance for Keener, 34-36 y.o, shows him older for both character age as well as older than the actor. Imo he looks younger than his real age.
Agent 47's look was based on the voice actor according to IMDB

All the people with American accents in the game are British irl and then Dianna has a British accent in the game and Jane is Canadian. Bruh

The best actors are the ones where they truly have the audience convinced into the character, Some forget that they are professional actors who are nice + friendly and just want to hangout with coworkers and have fun. It’s called method acting. I am quite surprised that Philip doesn’t sound like The constant when he talks like David, That’s impressive talent.

Perfect example is Mark Hamil and Kevin Conroy. They play as complete opposites in Batman projects, but are good friends outside of the booths.

Kevin conroy played Batman (animated series) and Bruce Wayne in Arkham knight, even as that may be impressive for Kevin conroy to continuously play the same role as Batman/Bruce Wayne that is what he is mostly known for.
Bonus: I noticed after Star Wars Mark Hamil started playing villain roles, I guess Luke did join the dark side after all.... 😂
The funniest part of 47s accent is how the South African accent tends to spill over lol
Given 47's origin story, it kinda fits well.
I hear NO trace of the Constant in Philips voice. He completely lost the accent for this role.
Philip must be a method actor. He may not sound like The constant when he talks but he sure does embodies the character a lot during this interview every time there would be a question about his character he would reflect the question and say I know Jane did a lot of work. 😂😂😂

Phillip's performance as Arthur Edwards was amazing
Ah, thank you so much Third Temple for your so kind words, here. It's a wonderful feeling for an actor when people like the performances that they do. The Constant has been one of my favourite parts I've ever done. It really helps an actor to be able to do something well when the concept for the character is so good to start with. The writers at IOI Interactive created such a fascinating character to work on and the dialogue that they wrote was exemplary. It has been a real joy to play The Constant and I'm delighted that you like the Hitman series so much.

The constant in the game looks like the character Doug stamper from house of cards even sounds like him too. 😂😂

Damn, I'm surprised that John Hopkins hasn't done more voice acting roles ! His voice is incredible !
You should play Division, his best voice performance imo. Impeccable American accent and just his voice work alone is what really made Keener into a badass he is.

Is it just me or they look damn similar to their characters? I mean yea, we know that they based 47's appearance on David, but damn I look at these people and I can see the characters they play. Maybe it;s just me.
Motion capture also includes facial capture, most of the time.

Well,47 was supossed to have hair, but ioi didnt have money to make that so they made him bald,and now look everyone can reckognize hitman by his bald head,😉
47 wasn’t modeled after David. He explained in many interviews that 47 looked that way when he came into the studio to audition.

Ah, thank you The SectorZ for your so kind words. Playing The Constant has been one of the most fun parts of my whole career and Rieper did a great job organising this chat for us all. Indeed, I've been a Hitman fan since the heady days of Hitman: Codename 47 where you weren't even allowed one save during a mission, ha ha.

Also, I think that it's a huge loss to this world that they didn't do an actual decent Hitman movie with David. Imagine if they got him ripped like 10 years ago, it would have been the best thing in existence. Oh well...

I think this is the dream of every Hitman fan. You're very lucky to meet them all! I just wish they each said a line from either Hitman or Hitman 2 with their character voice.

to be fair Diana speaks in what we call 'received pronunciation' which is basically a 'fake' but more accurately -taught- accent that is used by the upper class (like royalty) in England. it's not the kind of accent you'd hear from anyone who isn't from wealth regardless where they are in the country (source: I'm English)
I can never forget the Lucas Grey's death scene, "tell the constant to start running!"...... it gives me goosebumps!

These are the coolest sounding voice actors in gaming right there. I was also pleasently surpised by Olivia who is speaking over the comm in some of Hitman 3's missions. They have a great sense for that.
This is an incredible video. David feeling all hurt because he was left out of Mo-Cap! Lol! Omg. I lost it. John losing his job to Silent Assassin was so relatable.
I laughed out loud because I nearly got an Article 15 for playing Absolution almost all night while I was in the army.
I just don't understand why Hollywood not considering hiring David Bateson and Jane Perry to act as their respectful characters in a live action version of Hitman.

Man,I do hope there be an Netflix series called Codename 47 with David Bateson and Jane Perry playing their roles.
Because this isn't how it works. Bateson is not a Hollywood-tier actor, it's all about agencies, contracts and so on, very complicated. Hollywood adaptations are never about authenticity anyway and probably it's the best if they will never touch these brilliant actors with their filthy hands.

I’ve known a few people who lost their job because they kept calling out to stay home and play a newly released game. GTA5 was especially a heavy hitter.

@@CammyWINS His role as Lucas Gray is what made me look him up. I checked out all of his work. And was amazed, a highly underrated talent . Aaron Keener and Ryse Son Of Rome to name a few. Which shows that voice actors are not appreciated. I wish that they get half of the recognition of an actor.
@@MoeBee yeah, I found him by accident as Keener in The Division that I also picked by accident. I liked the game, but man, him as Keener absolutely made the game for me. It’s a shame how unceremoniously Vanguard was killed off. Later I got Horizon Zero Dawn because of John, and I ended up falling in love with the game itself instead. Highly recommend, absolutely amazing experience.

Awesome that you managed to get them all on board. Next time when you‘re interviewing more than one person, make sure to direct your questions to individuals rather than the group. You could tell they were a bit confused about who should answer and it was Dave Bateson (the one with journalistic training) that more than once had to route the question accordingly. That way you can also avoid skipping people with your question. Keep up the good work - all the best to you.
I love David Bateson as 47 so much. Im so grateful he's been the man for all of these years.

Man what a great interview! first of all big props for getting the cast together on your channel, and kudos for your work as host too. Perfect amount of asking interesting questions and then letting the guests speak and "interview themselves". Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but lots of interesting insights and stories came out.

I just got my PS5, my first console and Hitman was one of the first games I got. Hearing Jane Perry's voice like this, her kids probably felt like Agent 47 everytime she asked them to do something or tell them "good luck" before an exam.
