My grandfather was given a Vacheron by a company he worked for in the 50’s or 60’s, and it was the most beautiful thing to behold; even as a child who didn’t know a thing about watches, I couldn’t keep myself from sneaking a look inside the box it was kept in whenever I got the chance. Many Vacheron Constantin watches have that same allure for me still, both new and vintage.
The bracelet alone is amazing. The fact that it is a VC (also my favorite of the big three) and over 7 decades old and still ticking makes it even better. Wear it, love it. Amazing find and purchase.
People's concerns of size(vintage) are overblown, your 35mm on your big wrist looks just right. May your infectious happiness for the beautiful acquisition of the grandest vintage watch geek dreams spead throughout the world!
Stunning, gorgeous watch. It wears a lot bigger than 35mm on the bracelet. I have to agree about the gold/black dial combo, I was lucky enough to find a gold filled King Seiko wit( black dial, not solid gold but has aged well, I love wearing that. It makes me look classy.
It’s got a very classic, timeless and well proportioned dial design. Similar faceted hour indices were also used by PP (Calatrava) IWC and others. Beautiful watch, Jory.
Looks great on the original bracelet...idk why watch nerds get a hard throwing vintage watches on leather straps...nothing against leather for dressier occasions but vintage watches on their original metal bracelets or period correct metal bracelets not including most of those stretch bracelets though...no reason to get all bent outta shape over 1mm of springbar showing smh the watch looks infinitely more charming and special on its original hardware in this case in my opinion and 99% of the the world wont notice those 1mm of springbars showing
Great video, Jory and a beautiful watch. I totally get that sense of romance and charm attached to owning something that has passed through time while keeping time for those who wore it over the decades. So cool.
I bought a 38mm 18k VC for $3200 during the pandemic. It was advised to me a month ago that it's a $15-$20k peice. I pretty much hit the lottery in watches.
The more vintage watches I see, the less I like them 😫. Id rather buy a new watch and have it become vintage with MY stories attached to it. Previous owner may have been a complete tool for all you know 🤣
If buying Patek, I'd suggest go with the Aquanaut. Nautilus is just overpriced for what you can get. 3x the steel version price for noble metals is just too much, even if you have the funds. Might as well buy an Aquanaut AND another Big Three watch. Lol!
I never understood why AP was part of the holy trinity, especially when their only relevant contribution to watchmaking is the Royal Oak. Why isn’t Jaeger part of the trinity instead? Especially when they have powered all three and make some of the most precise and intricate watches?
Congrats on your VC, Jory! On the endlink subject, Rolex used to make the Datejust in solid gold back in the 40s, and it had straight endlinks. Let’s compare vintage pieces to watches from their own age group. As for Trinity companies, VC for the Overseas, and Patek for dress watches.
If you want a great value overseas, look for the 38mm VC 42040 overseas salmon dial in stainless steel made in the early 20s, chronometer spec with a GP ultrathin movement. They pop up once in a while for sale and are very very much under the radar.
I owned a 2nd generation Overseas and it is the only watch I have ever regretted parting ways with. As you stated, it is a bit of an underdog, but only because it is not spoken of as much as the other trinity sport watches.
I love Vacheron Constantin. I love that watch and I'm just seeing it for the first time. Great find! My grail watch is an American 1921 Historiques -- any metal :)
I am a native (American) English speaker and perhaps pronounce things differently than a native French speaker would. This is no different than a native Frenchman saying the words “hamburger, or Ford”- I wouldn’t correct them just because they have an accent.
These RUclipsrs all seem to resent having their pronunciation corrected, no matter how ridiculous it is. It may be a generational thing having to do with their education.
Looks bigger on the wrist than I thought it would I'd be very happy to have a piece like that one of my grail watch an a fan of the Overseas also does more for me than the A.P. P.P. sports watches but yea like one of those also .😁
Those overseas are beautiful, not into vintage watches, not talking about a few years old and pre-owned, still love watching these video's even though I couldn't afford it.
I got to see a used Vacheron Constantin Overseas at my AD. Great price, but I was somewhat underwhelmed. If I had more variety of that watch to look at I think I’d find something I liked. I still liked it better than a Patek Nautilus. The Royal Oak offshore may be better.
Jory!!! You kill everything! Rocking it to the world. I'm still looking for a made in 69 on your store..38 or 39 if you can find one would be great instead! Still loving your channel
Very cool stunning piece you got there my friend, I'm also into vintage pieces my self, have you ever check the 1940 Gruen Curvex, love the thick glass very impressive in my opinion, let me know what you think.. 👍👍also I have 1940 Britix chronograph, the patina is very impressive run perfectly condition..for being a 1940 you get it..
I have a hand-wound VC Patrimony. Keeps better time than my Patek, Rolex, Omega... The only watch in my collection that keeps up is my quartz Tissot. Lol! So it's not in the price folks...
Richemont are the value destroyers of good watch brands. That's why there underdogs. There tainted and therefore dump money like an old geezer in Thailand.
nice vacheron, mid 1940s and dont look dated at all, impressive.

Cries out for a leather strap. It would solve the ugly spring bar problem, and would look SO. MUCH. BETTER.
Ino i think a brown strap would look lovely
I’m really happy for you Jory! It’s great to see so much appreciation for an incredible vintage piece.
This watch has truly aged wonderfully, timeless piece.

Amen!!
Omg totally agreed! VC is it! Ask a master watchmaker, they all agree, the quality of VC kills the others. My grail.
Great video, Jory and a beautiful watch. I totally get that sense of romance and charm attached to owning something that has passed through time while keeping time for those who wore it over the decades. So cool.
Buddy you’re mispronouncing VC. 🤔. Should sound like “constantan”. Not “constantine”
He could pronounce it correctly because he has Sprachgefühl ...
Hi Jory, can you recommend a watch to wear while watching television? Thanks in advance! - Warpo
Seiko TV watch obviously.
warpo007 Patek television screen 😂
Congrats! My grail brand is JLC, I'd like it as a hand-wind in a sub 35mm pink or rose gold case. Working my way up to one.
Congratulations on your newest acquisition! I have a VC of similar design. Nobody I've gone to has ever been able to date it.
Congratulations. I agree with you that the Overseas has definitely been overlooked. The watch that got me into chronographs was the Zenith El Primero.
I bought a 38mm 18k VC for $3200 during the pandemic. It was advised to me a month ago that it's a $15-$20k peice. I pretty much hit the lottery in watches.
Bro, could have saved a couple grand by going with a Vostok.
The more vintage watches I see, the less I like them 😫. Id rather buy a new watch and have it become vintage with MY stories attached to it. Previous owner may have been a complete tool for all you know 🤣
Love that dial, would you consider having it opened up to clean the indices?
Nice find! Perhaps make a video about how you source these watches?
Congratulations on the acquisition of the vintage VC. Beautiful piece. 👍🏼
Next steps:
1-Patek
2-Lange
3-Credor

Or A. Lange?
AP is fucking overrated.
I love your Vacheron, Jory.
My favorite Holy Trinity brand is Patek just because of the Calatrava and the 5146

It’s not Constanteen,it’s Constantan.
It’s mine.
@@thetimeteller You tell em' Jory! Cool classic watch.
@@thetimeteller If you love the brand so much though it would be nice to pronounce it correctly?
I am a native (American) English speaker and perhaps pronounce things differently than a native French speaker would.

You did very well finding this one. Thanks!
Love the small seconds design ascetic too. It’s one of the reasons the Seiko 6139 is such a favorite of mine, perhaps you too. It’s a similar grammar.
I have my Dads 1950s VC its just been serviced and The watchmaker raved about the finish of the movement a 454 5b apparently! keeps excellent time!
Great watch man! I hope you continue to love and enjoy it!
Dig the VC Daddy-O , I am currently wearing a 1950's Roamer , gold with black dial with green numbers and hands 33 mm's , I love it !
I agree VC makes some of the nicest looking watches. I’d take a overseas over any Rolex!
I totally agree on dark dials and yellow gold. Great combo! Nice pick up Jory, enjoy man
AP doesn't deserve to be 1 of the 3. A. Lange is part of the 3 from now on, not AP.
I'm happy for and glad you dig it but I got to say i'm not feeling this one. Enjoy it though, we all have different tastes.
Quit trying to downplay how old your watch is, Jory. 2019-1945 is more than 71, it’s okay to admit it. :)
Hahahaha I only realized I misspoke once I reviewed the edit draft. Oh well, I make mistakes! 😂🤷🏻♂️
maths are hard

Congratulations! Beautiful watch. Beautiful bracelet. Enjoy it in good health.
Jory is asking for sponsoring his channel, then goes and grabs some luxury and high-end timepieces. Awesome business model ☺.
Nice VC! Congrats and enjoy it. Totally agree with you on all your points, including VC over AP and PP.
Nice pairing with the Montblanc
Timeless. Congratulations on this classic beauty
Great watch 👍just 34mm I’m not sure if it’s too small on the wrist.
Those overseas are beautiful, not into vintage watches, not talking about a few years old and pre-owned, still love watching these video's even though I couldn't afford it.
If I had the money for serious luxury watches, I'm going Lange & Söhne every day
I love my Lange & Söhne
I think if we had Lange money, we would probably own a VC as well.
My exact "when I make it" plan: Buy big three flagships, and THEN a Lange... Then a hell lot of Seikos to wear daily... LOL!
Very nice! Always prefer VC out of the three, they deserve more attention.
Whats the name of the bracelet on your watch
It's a great looker, Jory. I like the bracelet fine the way it is and black and gold dial will always look classic. Wear in good health.
We should be referring to the holy *quaternity* because A. Lange & Söhne exist. Who cares if it's German? It's top tier watchmaking as well.
Black disks and gold, kind of a “gilty “ pleasure
Jon I see what you did there
Amazing, i thought it was modern watch for a minute. Super impressive and beautiful looking watch - congrats.
Absolutely gorgeous watch, a true classic. Welcome to the holly trinity my friend..
Beautiful watch, Jory. T3 is now a member of the holy 3!
Beautiful watch! Congratulations! Just a bit jealous lol
Invicta has a great lineup this year!
I got to see a used Vacheron Constantin Overseas at my AD. Great price, but I was somewhat underwhelmed. If I had more variety of that watch to look at I think I’d find something I liked. I still liked it better than a Patek Nautilus. The Royal Oak offshore may be better.
Beautiful watch. Congratulations!
Congrats VC it’s my dream watch
Beautiful VC. Enjoy in good health.
Vacheron Constantin is the best of the holy Trinity IMO. I would sale a Nautilus is given one, and buy 2 overseas and a FIFTYSIX.
Jory!!! You kill everything! Rocking it to the world. I'm still looking for a made in 69 on your store..38 or 39 if you can find one would be great instead! Still loving your channel
Great watch for your GF/wife, if they enjoy the vintage aspect.
It seems like VC is a little more obtainable....
I really want a 60s Hamilton Thin-line or Thin-O-Matic
Very nice watch, enjoy it!
Gorgeous watch!
Holy Trinity aren’t my favorites. I like Lange, Breguet and JLC for higher end pieces. Congratulations on your find👍🏽
same here! JLC especially!
Nice what, needs a good leather strap.
A beautiful watch ,but it wears more like a 37 or 38 mm .
I love the watch Jory, how much did you get it for? Unless I missed that in the video
Cool watch a great find enjoy.
Congratulations on getting one of your grail watches. Beautiful, likely with a long story. Can you research this in some way?
Would look perfect on Connie
Well done! Bravo
Gorgeous watch! What about THIS WATCH?😇
Congrats. Absolutely gorgeous. Right up my street 😁👍
Well done sir!
I have a hand-wound VC Patrimony. Keeps better time than my Patek, Rolex, Omega... The only watch in my collection that keeps up is my quartz Tissot. Lol! So it's not in the price folks...
Did a ray of sunshine ☀️ and doves 🕊 appear when you took possession?
Richemont are the value destroyers of good watch brands. That's why there underdogs. There tainted and therefore dump money like an old geezer in Thailand.
Congrats!
You pronounced VC wrongly man...😂
Im sensing a bit of 555gear in that intro.
Have seen watches labeled "Vacheron Constantin" and "Vacheron & Constantin," which I find odd. Is the latter legit?
“Vacheron & Constantin” is how it was originally labeled. “Vacheron Constantin” is a modern iteration.
@@thetimeteller Vielen Dank!
At least the Holy Trinity watches are real.
Boom!
Absolutely gorgeous.
T3-Trinity... well that say it all
Every watch you love is worth whatever you paid for it.
Amen! I couldn’t have said it better myself!
nice watch, congrats!
Very cool!
Beautiful, classy!
Lovely watch.
Man that's a really lovely women's watch bro,congrats,lol
Nice Show and Tell er episode.
