after derse dreamers and the lyricovers leading up to this one, i knew i wanted to compose some lyrics for a song with more energy than usual. RJ! was the perfect composer/producer for this, and still writes some absolutely incredible music. you can find his work and his twitter below:

in this piece i wrote the lyrics, recorded them, mixed them, and edited the art together myself.

although many of the works on this channel are covers, i still put around 40+ hours into each between singing, recording takes, checking the recorded takes, organizing artwork and editing it to video, then uploading and organizing there. the hours go up dramatically if i'm writing lyrics or an entire fan composition, and my more recent works are close to 60-100 hours worth of work each.

agh some of these lines still sound so strained to me!! i can't tell if it's awkward lyrics or not having enough air, but it's strange.
i'm definitely leaning into the vocal flexibility at this point though. i don't remember having this much before trying to work on this song, so i would assume this is the point where that came into play for real.
