Were you going to create a bank story general forum area? Or shall I just start telling my stories in the Chartway Credit Union signup link? :)
This is sounds like a company worth banking with, rare find.
I felt that way too. I've never seen this.... ever
This sounds silly, but I am seriously going to look into them as a bank. $100 I will take begrudgingly too, natch, but still.
@@mlj_the_shield I thought about it too. I have a smaller bank opening at our old BofA location with 4% interest rates on money market, 4.7% on liquid CDs, so I'll go to them for a backup location.
Man, I love my credit union, and hearing your story with Aneca makes me love my credit union even more.
At my credit union, the same amazing lady who does the chat, also answers the main bank-branch phone number, AND does email replies! There is something special about credit union relationships - this is another video proving why.
Love your content.

Appreciate it brother
Thanks for the update fella!
Nicest bank to the nicest man on YT
RJ is a nice guy. Although I did get an annoying popup tonight about becoming a member of this channel. I'm already a member of ROTB - how much more can a poor slob like myself give up here? :)
You know the Kobe commercial where he keeps saying "more"
@@RJFinancial You're a machine.
Hello Rj hope all is well
Very interesting story there are some good banks out there that are out there for the people not for money.
Glad the bank did right by you.
@@Anthonyjones-pq4ff Well let's not get carried away. A bank *is* there for the money - they have a board or trustees they manage money for that is expected to turn a profit to continue. There really isn't any businesses that don't have profit as the #1 key benchmark of their success. But to your point, this one seems to be run by actual human beings and not background bots.
Dang man - now ya got me looking into them 😎😎😎. Thanks for the POSITIVE VIBES + video!!!
Haha you know the rule, hold until there's another offer
I'm old. When RJ says this is rare, he ain't kidding. Chase, who I've banked with off and on since the "Bank One" days in the 1990's - had a promotion to get $20 off RUclipsTV if you spend $64.99 last November. I did that, didn't get the $20, made 3 calls and got a letter in the mail. They WOULD NOT tell me the reason I didn't get the rightful $20 credit. The fact that Aneca did all this for RJ makes me want to bank with them so hard. Chase on the phone and in the letter would not reveal anything. What a story RJ!
Good enough to get you out of retirement and back into the bonus hunting game?
@@RJFinancial No, it's 100% wife + Costco. You know it and I know it.
Great story. If you arre looking for a banking horror story to cover, how about the colaspe of the fintech banks, yotta, juno, ect?
I saw that the other day. I'm going to have to look into it. Not much is being said and that alone means it's probably interesting
Great to hear this. Thanks for this video
Thanks. I’m considering doing more of these when we have an interesting story. Good or bad
Brother RJ you did the right thing. Thank You Brother RJ.
Gold star for Amica CU for excellent communication, even after some confusion and miscommunication. Being straightforward with customers, even those that you kick out, is good customer service.
RJ with the W!! 😎👍
Wow! What a great story/bank.
Thanks, thinking about doing more of these when we get decent stories. Good or bad
Based RJ!
Yep
Very interesting. Sometimes there are advantages in dealing with little guys.
They treat fake customers better than the big guys treat people with $100k
Based RJ
@RJ - What do you mean by being over chex? Is there a limit to how many checking accounts one can open in a year? Sort of like a 5/24 but fir checking accounts?
It's a private internal service that banks/credit unions use to see if a new deposit customer has a lot of accounts or ever left a negative balance with a bank and didn't resolve it. So it's sort of a risk assessment tool. It's provided by Chex Systems.

They're so small they still care what people think of them(and please call off the NCUA!)
ANECA knows it is good PR
I sorta agree. I think it's part that and part a reconsideration of all the new members they could have
47.4k I wonder if that's some of that Reddit traffic coming over? You deserve all that you get RJ. Here's to 50k by Juneteenth holiday!
Haha half way to the silver play button
seriously you are playing with fire having a chase checking account. MEAB has outlined this
I try to tell him the same thing. He does have a Jaime Diamond tattoo though, so there's that. I preemptively closed all my Chase accounts 2 weeks ago along with my wife's. Along with my -249 UR points. Yes, that's a negative sign.
I normally use it for paying bills. Haven't found a good replacement yet that wouldn't cost me a churn
@@RJFinancial the issue is more that chase looks at ews because you have a checking account. If you don't they don't look at ews.
Meab? What/ who is that? Thank You.
@@RJFinancial Sofi. Savings 4.6%, no mins, just transfer to checking to pay bills. Credit card is now 2.2% as long as you're sofi plus which is pretty easy to do.
You’re lucky Chase didn’t close your account too for the stopped check. They sometimes get twitchy about those things.
Agreed, that was a close call. I can't believe Chase took it so well. I've had the account since 2010 but still, never matters to them
@@RJFinancial could have closed all your credit cards too. That would have been worse than losing the bank account. Probably the biggest reason I don’t have a checking account with Chase, I don’t want to lose my cards.
I thought the same thing. I think the reps at Chase reviewed RJ's older videos with the longer intro that had Mr. Diamond's picture scroll by, so they gave him a pass. When Chase bought Bank One in 1999 or so I was on the executive support team for BO and my coworker met with Mr. Diamond many times. I only got to talk to John B. McCoy personnally and the other executives like the CFO, who later became the CFO for Ford Motor company. True Story.
@@curmudgeonextraordinaire1884 Had they closed all his Chase accounts I'd have driven up to Michigan (one state away) as he'd be on suicide watch. There's a reason he has a House of Diamond comforter on his bed.
I was thinking the same thing. Chase sucks to the power of ten. Their algorithms are so twitchy. I'd never recommend them.
😮
Hello if you have the time could you explain what you mean when you say you can't open an account because of Chex's ?
