I first met Scott at the North South 100 in Florence KY, I think in '01. He was getting inducted into the hall of fame(I forget the details it's been a while). He didn't race that night. Didn't even bring the car. He just made his speech and then walked around shaking hands and talking to people all night. I always thought that was such a classy thing to do
I will always cherish the conversations that we had especially the first time I met Scott in 88 at Eldora he's a rookie and won the world 100. He definitely left a mark on dirt racing a racing genius on how the chassis works the rear end shocks etc what a guy RIP Bloomer the Goat Blackstone No Weak Links
Go over and take a look at Scott on dirty mo , you will learn a ton , including aliens 👽 ,lol it’s was a Dale jr episode last year, but they put it back up yesterday thanks Kenny, thanks BigAl California
Love him or hate him he was one of kind driver Not taken anything away from others by no means.. In the 90s if he showed up there was a lot of drivers got there @$$ handed to them In the 2000s people started to understand just how far the edge of the envelope was being pushed R.I.P. DARTH
Well, Herm... Farther along,we'll know all about it Farther along, we'll understand why Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine🌞 We'lll understand it... all by and by✌️❤️🏁
He was an incredible man and I’m sure a great friend, and these stories are a great way to remember him Herm. But it’s time to Let him rest now, for his family too, and perhaps revisit his life down the road of time. Love your passion Herm please don’t take offence to a simple man’s opinion
Bloomquist is DIRT's Einstein! I never thought there would be another like "Jimmy Shampine... 8-ball", a genius at building cars. (More known for Super Mods on asphalt; but one HELL of a Dirt Racer, also.) R.I.P. Scott and Alien's don't care if... You have long hair.
@@DavidClark-vu3dw I know two engine builders in East Tennessee who were dabbling in the early 80s. I drove but neither would let anyone watch what was going on.

I"m sorry but it has to BE SAID. If in fact his end was suicide it takes words like legindary, GOAT and rock star off the table. This is a great teaching moment for our children . RIP and suicide don't go together.
You can't hardly say that about Scott , nobody on here may know what his thoughts were , in between his pain issues, and I believe finances were not where he was use to having, and it could be maybe more stress and depression issues at home ... I'm just saying if it turns out to be suicide, it wouldn't say anything about his great career and knowledge of dirt racing . We may never know , to be honest .
He didn't have a pilots license..... and the plain was not registered...sounds like he didn't like following rules....never ran nascar because he wouldn't follow rules....
David , they have rules in dirt racing , some series are pretty strict on certain things too .... When you're in dirt , they allow a little more in the grey area , that's where the smart guys are usually the best , and the guy who never says the car is ok ( always ways to improve )
@@jimb_28 not as heavy... he said it himself....dirt don't make very much money!!!!! Say what you want.....people don't care about dirt racing..it's cheap and not much fun to watch...he couldn't fly A plane very well obviously....right into a barn???? Really
@@Davidjohnson-zd3bk you can make really good money in dirt racing , you have to travel several states and have good people helping you . Look back at some pics of Bloomer at Eldora , he won 100,000 I believe at the dream , several 50,000 checks , and with his sponsor money ( back in the day , not so much now ) he could do very well for himself. It's not NASCAR pay by any means , but just look at the top drivers in dirt now , Johnathan Davenport , Hudson O' Neal , Ricky Thornton , all these drivers are making a great living doing what they love .

I already miss Scott!
A lot of those tire tricks were taught to him early on by a man named Jimmy “Pup” Thomas who we also lost recently. Rip to them both.
I relate Pup to Sonny Vaccaro who brought MJ to Nike. Scott Bloomquist was to Hoosier Tire what Michael Jordan was to Nike shoes.

It bot always about being the smartest man but knowing who to listen to and having the right peoples number.
@@kyleolson279 I agree with this 💯
A very talented man in all aspects of life.
The Crash at Eldora this year I think Broke his Spirit.Greatest ever.RIP.
Kenny, can we just go ahead and say Bloomquist was “The Intimidator” on dirt? The black paint schemes were wicked. And wicked fast.
He was a very smart person ! Like I told a friend of mine earlier I would like to know what he forgot !
