Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

I like how scrapman's color scheme for builds went from red with black accents to white with a random red desig. The new scheme also makes his builds look futuristic which adds to the builds.

I really dig the idea of using the "Blade pitch" design. I wish we had access to those parts in Stranded in Space campaign. I'd like to try the blade pitch rotor for carrying the larger scrap parts.

@@jcborcha Editor is who makes the editions, scrapman only makes the videos, The editor is being funny and i dont think his 'Funny" things are actually funny, he exploded the video with sounds and music and oversized alot of stuff, also everthing else is exagerated.
Scrapman's boat kinda reminds me of a Cybran Plan B strategic missile submarine. Hell, it even has that Cybran-looking colour scheme.

Ok, so - just had a challenge idea while watching the intro:
The "Previous Challenge" challenge. It's a series of small challenges (similar to the Scrap Mechanic "Olympics" style challenges you've done in the past). Difference being: you're not allowed to make or modify a custom vehicle. You're *only* allowed to use a vehicle you've made for a previous multiplayer challenge video, and you're not allowed to modify it in any way.
Got a suggestion for one of these Trailmakers versus videos: Bandit(s) vs Hover Train
Vehicle 1: A hover train comprised of 2-3 cars, including at least one lead engine car and one cargo car carrying some special "cargo" (a dynamite stockpile?) that must be protected during transport from Point A to Point B. The train may be outfitted with turret emplacements or manned gunner positions (depending on how many extra crew are recruited for this idea) and may even have a dedicated defense car, if build complexity allows for it. Power core limits may be set for defensive measures, but should allow for at least one heavy weapon (cannon, rockets) and one light weapon (blaster, machine gun)
Vehicle 2: A bandit attack vehicle designed for optimal hover train raiding, likely including hover capabilities as well, lest the bandits lose their quarry to something as trivial as a river crossing. Bandit will win if the train is destroyed, however, they will gain bonus points if they can manage to disable the engine car and keep the volatile cargo still intact. Bandit vehicle may also have a power core and/or gadget limitation. If additional players are present, then all bandits must use the same vehicle (something about making a name for themselves)
I imagine the desert area of the new map would make for nice set dressing, as well as provide distinct paths to follow and waypoints to reach (especially with the new "peaceful" version that disables NPCs), but any map would probably suffice
Scrapmans rocket protection reminds me of some ww2 tanks that had shields to protect from high explosive shells
Yeah the panzer 4’s had those sometimes in some of the later models, I’ve heard that they were also used to protect the tank from small arms as well
@@RedTideReject Even some late Pz.3 had them which proved to be useful. I guess that's now developed into using depleted uranium armour internally instead of external protection
Not meant to protect against HE or HEAT shells. They were to protect against anti-tank rifles by ruining the bullet's profile so it tumbles and is unable to penetrate.
Shields are almost as synonymous with Scrapman's builds as wedges at this point

Think you could build a working drydock in Trailmakers? One of you builds the boat, the other the drydock. Mini challenge would be get the boat in the drydock and then lifting it completely out of the water.

This was a lot of fun! Next time you should give the boat the small cannon or mini-gun so it can do a bit of consistent damage to the heli instead of basically being defenseless since the helicopter can dodge so much more effectively and be so much faster.

How Scrapman crashed due to completely loosing his tail gave me an idea for a build video:
Can you build a tandem body helicopter? It would be very similar to a catamaran, in that it has 2 bodies, each with it's own rotor(s) and tail. And when either one takes critical damage (rotor, tail, weight distribution), you can ditch it with detaching blocks.
The only problem would be the cockpit.
You'd either need to hang the cockpit on hinges under both bodies, so that it can swing to underneath the remaining body. Or you'd have to initially build one single body with the cockpit attached, so that it's suitably balanced in that configuration. (Thinking about it now, the two bodies could also be arranged behind each other, like a tandem bicycle. That would make balancing easier, but you'd need to balance each half.)
Even when I have bad day I can always rely on scrapman for a ray of sunshine in the storm
As a suggestion for the next challenge... speed boat vs heavy cruiser?
Speedboat would be limited to smart cannons/miniguns and have a lower block count but no real speed limit.
Heavy cruisers could use what ever weapons they want with a higher power core limit and block limit but they will have a speed limit of idk 60?
Goal would be like this video, heavy cruiser has to go as far as it can while using it's firepower and high block count to try to survive the onslaught for as long as possible.
Bonus idea: do it on the high seas map
Next Trailmakers multilayer challenge: Vehicles Battle Royale.
Basically, boat vs plane vs submarine vs hover-car. It has to be a hover-car so they could go on land and on water.
Now, as the name suggests, ya'll build your own plane/boat/sub/hover-car (each) and then just try and destroy each other as each vehicle. So if you're boat, no one else can be boat. If someone's a plane, no one else can be a plane, etc.
Bonus round: Put the vehicles in your quick-transform slot, and you all have one life per vehicle. If you get destroyed as a boat, move to the next vehicle and so on.
To any BTD6 players, this is the Apache vs Comanche fight I always wanted.
You should do a spy-car challenge. See who can fit the most concealed weapons and gadgets into a car. That'd be cool!

Reverse it, have an attack boat chasing an aircraft that can land on water. That'd be epic
Do some evolution videos where you guys start with pre-airborne gliders, planes, and cars you have made in previous videos and evolve them now that you have new parts to use on your old creations.

Please do helicopters vs skybases 2v2, two skybases, who if destroyed that team loses, the helicopter is the only offensive vehicle, the skybase can only defend itself, please do this I’ve been asking for 15 videos and I think it will be fun!

I saw Yzuei's video earlier. I think you guys should do this challenge again with a slightly higher block count for the boats, since the helicopters won both times.
I’m not sure you understood the challenge, the goal is to get as far as possible with the boat while being chased by the heli, the heli would always win, because it has infinite resets, they just didn’t reset because they didn’t have to

Battleships (game) idea, each team sets up other sides of map/area... With a set amount of any vehicles within a set square... The build part. Is a missle, that will work like a mortar? Goes up... And comes down on target? But can not be controlled after launch? The aiming must be set from base... If that makes any sense
they should do battleship versus self destructing planes

Challenge idea: (armed) Boat VS Chinook
MULTIPLAYER VIDEO IDEA!!!!! theres 1/2/3/4 pirate speedboats and one cargo ship. the pirates have to destroy explosive targets on the cargo ship with small cannons at the front of the speedboat and the pirates cant repair more than 3 times each. the cargo ships goal is to defeat the pirates till they have more repairs or get around the whole danger zone map or any other sea route on any other map without all targets being exploded. the cargo ship can have any gun but rocket launchers!
I will now modify all my helicopters to use this collective method. Toggle rotors with dpad up and use triggers for collective
Scrapman, for next builds with multiple rockets, give yourself ability to alternate fire! when enemy dodges first rocket they're vulnerable :D

I do like how scrapman made something with rotors that closely resemble the kamov style rotor system (Ka-50 and 52 have the same rotor system) and his opposition made the nemesis to the Russian vehicle, the Apache. Very neat.
Unfortunately for scrap man unlike the Ka-50 his vehicle can *not* fly without the tail.
