Your video is awesome! I used to wonder "Will land moss survive underwater?" And now I know the answer. Also the previous video also helpful for me too. Thank you
I've been thinking about using land moss in my aquariums. I have lots of land moss here in Florida. I have heard it starts breaking down after a few months. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure! There are many thousands strains of mosses out there. I tried just few of them. Some did not grow in my settings at all. I put videos with those that grow underwater in this playlist: ruclips.net/video/X_04HOoPWLU/видео.html Best regards!
Hi Michael it's me again kkk, I just got a moss in my yard a little different from yours it's drier, smaller and it separates easier than yours; I tied to the boulders the way you did, but now I can see that have a smells really strong, can I really use that kind of moss?
Smells are not good...usually bad odor indicates that something is getting spoiled. It could be moss or something else trapped in the moss. I would try to wash it again.
I like how the creator pins and answers almost each comment, and ca this work with almost any common land moss? And how did you make driftwood out of tooth picks?
I appreciate your observation! And so I do for every comment - those who watch my videos and give time to write feed back or thanks or question, they do deserves it! I have 3 moss nurseries. One has adult female guppies, the other has adult male guppies, and the last one has baby guppies. Do you think I can put a mystery snail in of the nurseries? (I an scared that they will eat the moss)
Thank you for asking!! I've never kept mystery snails to tell you for sure. Nevertheless, I feed back to my fish all plants and etc that grows in aquariums - that is the beauty of natural aquarium. Thank you for your question! I could not tell you for sure - I experiment only with guppies. Though, I have some thoughts about it. The tetras 3.5 cm adult size is good size for keeping in 2 liter plastic bottle. I deem it could be used as a temporary house for them. Keeping tetras in such aquarium all year around could be different. Tetras usually kept in community aquariums. The 2 liter plastic bottle aquarium can accommodate small number of fish (2-4 adults depending on fish size). I don't know breeding conditions necessary for tetras...It is the same story as I got with guppies - there is none of easy available experimental data on this subject.
