My family and I did an overnight bus in Cambodia around 5 years ago, from Siem Reap to the coast. There was a mix up when booking and we ended up with only 3 seats for 4 of us, my wife got a bed with our 2 boys at the back of the bus and I ended up with a stranger in the bed at the front. We all survived to tell the tale and loved our time in Cambodia.
We're heading to Thailand, Laos and Cambodia next week and doing a similar itinerary to yours. My husband and I have been watching all your videos from this trip and taking so many notes. Thanks for all the great tips!

I stayed at Sabay Beach just before COVID. We had the room right on the water. Loved our stay! The food, the staff, that sunsets! And waking up to the bells and chants nearby. Such a memorable place to stay!

Best bus company is Larryta express they have brand new buses and are super clean and good value, bring something warm to wear as these buses are always cold. You can also book your seats online/facebook if you want to be next to each other...Live in PP but travel to Siem Reap a lot.
When I was in Vietnam I thought I would hate overnight buses but actually with some earplugs I slept pretty well 😂 Using your videos for future travel research, keep up the good work!

basic on my experience, foreign always join Meyhong Bus Night sleep. For Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. It's really nice and private with comfortable. When arrive in Phnom Penh, they will choose Kompot express directly to kompot. Welcome to Cambodia. Enjoy it

Larryta Express has just lunched its sleeping bus service (Siem reap- Phnom Penh) which is a lot better than the one you took. It also comes with a toilet. 😊
Virak Buntham night buses can be hit or miss (at least from my experience in terms of drivers and passengers) lol. Glad you guy made the trip safe and sound. Enjoy Kampot! Check out Kdart La Tente if you guys have time.

A couple of Kampot resteraunts that are good: Oh La La if you want a good BBQ w potato salad, or Auberge de Soleil, good Swiss and Khmer. Chocolate fondue. Scooters are the best way to get around, go to Kep or up Bokor , nice ride. Fish island has a beautiful Wat. Enjoy

You cant' really sit up properly in it, so it's not so comfortable unless you lie down. But if you're tall then you won't really fit haha

Welcome to Kampot. I prefer the train or Ibis coach for getting around in Cambodia, those van rides can be horrendous.
