Nice watch. I have one too. It’s worth mentioning that tin plate black polish aka zaratsu and sword polish have nothing in common. GS are addicting. Let us know when you get more!
Have you noticed any hairline scratches appearing on your watch with daily use? I've been thinking about buying an sbgh269 or sbga211 but am not sure since they dont with a coating and ive seen a few videos where they all have minor scratching.
@@kloppo5476 every watch scratches with the possible exception of Sinn tegemented and the like. I don't worry about it. If you can't handle scratches should look at ceramic case watches.
@@kloppo5476, I have one of these. It does pick up hairline scratches that are especially visible in the mirror-polish facets of the case. If you're careful, such scratching will be quite subtle, but even wearing them under a cuff will cause some scratching. I've been wearing mine pretty carefully on and off for 8 months now. You'd need a loupe or extremely bright sunlight to spot the very few scratches there are, and if they cause consternation you can always use Cape Cod cloths to buff them out.

I would LOVE this watch and would change the band to a beautiful crocodile leather red. I saw someone else do the same and LOVED the watch ever sense.
You'll have to do your own due diligence unfortunately, this watch has been long sold out of it's limited run and so you have to go second-hand. Most sellers are private on Chrono24 and Ebay selling above original retail. I've had good experiences with both of those second-hand sites as they have an extra layer of protection/return policies (be sure to check on the seller's policy)
You should consider another grand seiko and just buy from an authorized dealer when the time comes - grand seikos are not selling much below retail

At the time I created this video 4 years ago - I would've disagreed with you - GS limited editions that were truly limited and offered something special held their value very well. Unfortunately GS has gone the Omega route and have gone with a weekly limited edition approach --- now I'm seeing alot of GS discounts like you said.

You thought a Highly Polished watch was going to be a daily beater? 🤦🏻♂️ I'm sorry but your logic is confounding here. The whole purpose of a daily beater is to beat it up.. its in the wording itself! Its the watch you can wear without fear of what you will potentially do to it.
I own a DJ41 with fluted bezel, the centerlinks and case have a high polish...it is the same amount of scratch prone. It is not meant to be a daily beater.
Find me a watch with a high polish in stainless steel that isn't scratch prone, please.
That isn't throwing shade, I'm just not sure what you were expecting. What else is in your collection? Maybe that will add some context.
nova_prime why not watches are meant to be worn and this baby rocks 100m wr. It is just my opinion that I should not have to baby my watch to the point where I’m scared of wearing.
Nothing against the GS design, if you want beautiful polish and flat polish surfaces you are going to get scratches. My dress is a jlc master control and my beater is an aquaterra
@@FeelingsChat watches are meant to be worn, not meant to be indestructible. You bought a piece of highly polished art, good sir. The Zaratsu polishing is their signature element of their case finishing. How else are you going to prevent scratches on highly polished steel by any way other than babying it? It bothered me on my speedy the first month, then I quickly got over it.
The swiss equivalent is "black polishing". Those are highly scratch absorbent. While I agree a watch should be worn, to want to wear it everyday and expect that it will remain prestine, is a lofty expectation of anything. Its like buying a nice cherry red McLaren and thinking you won't get bugs on it when you drive.
Nice choice on the JLC! My JLC is the Large Reverso classique duoface. That case is also highly polished and gets micro scratches everytime I flip it...unavoidable. Still love it.
I hope to add their new Master Control Triple Calendar chrono next year. Aquaterra is a wonderful daily! I have been eyeballing the Green dial as of late.

J. C . I sold this guy, I hurt the heart too much every new scratch. I don’t have issues with my other watches just this one :)
@@FeelingsChat Man im with u.. i walk around with microfiber wipes and forbid my wifes diamond to come within 3 feet of my watches..lol
