I say this is the most complementary way possible: this is the exact kind of system that I’d expect IKEA to come up with. Like, this feels like a very ikea solution, which are usually extremely well thought-out.
Yeah I’m suprised too that IKEA has no actual solution in place to lock their items. I get that pencil holders and such don’t necessarily have the same requirements as a tool wall but yeah still weird things are so loose.
Could have had it lock in without extra pieces. Just have a peg that locks into the hole below, right at the top. Then you have to pivot it out to lift up and remove. But I guess that could be a bigger pain if the pegs break off.
Having it in one piece with a pivot kind of defeats the purpose of this design. This design will lock in both direction and can only be releases by pulling out the upper part as opposed to a pivot system it would be possible to pull out the hook if the tool gets caught onto the hook, kind of same problem as the original IKEA hooks in my opinion.
That would actually be cool! Then I’d also be able to make holes that are even more compatible with whatever I want to mount. And perhaps more durable overall as Ikea’s holes are pretty slim. (5mm)
Haha, I’m at the same stage, and I’m only 27… I’m starting to see the beauty in practical things instead of things that just look cool… never thought that would happen… but it does 🥲
Ive downloaded a bunch of these, theyre great, would be nice to see you turn the part that goes into the pegboard into a system - without the hook - something I can boolean onto models so that they can be converted to using these hooks with the securing clips.
Hi! I have considered it! I’m thinking about making some more soon, right now I’m working on a PC case so my printer is busy but I still have another pegboard that needs attachments. Let me know if you miss any specific attachments or have any ideas 😊
I mean, it would make sense, but I’m not sure what’d be cheapest. Buying the board and print the accessories, or printing the board in terms of how much plastic is used. 😁
Just remixed the hook geometry onto another tool organizer so that it can use your lock peg. Just one of many I plan to do for personal use depending on the item!
@@makerunit currently ive added it to a caliper bracket that i posted to printables. And so far have done a bespoke multimeter holder as well as some clipper holders that used hooks that sucked. im looking at modifying business card holder and pen holder as well with the hooks since they keep things nice and secure without the pivot.
Really depends on your budget, and how technically skilled you are. Some prefer a printer that just works without much hassle, and others enjoy modding cheaper printers and do their own calibrations etc. Printers like the Ender 3 or similar are starting to «get old», but they are also getting super cheap now. If you’re more serious and want to use your printer a lot and have some money to spend, I’d probably go for the Bambu Lab P1P/P1S/X1C, as they are just working well right out of the box (from what I’ve heard). I’m personally going to upgrade soon to the Creality K1 MAX as it’s really fast, and has a much bigger build volume than the Bambu lab printers. Though it’s a bit expensive but I need the bigger print volume as I make a lot of PC cases etc.

@@Unboundiing though if your goal is to spend little money then I don’t know if I can recommend Shapr3D. It’s a little pricy for beginners probably… perhaps the free personal license for Fusion 360 is something for you? To practice. The basics are pretty much the same in my opinion.
Hey there, I even have this peg board can you share the models
Hi, I'll get them uploaded as soon as possible and I'll let you know.
Here you go! www.printables.com/model/539841-ikea-skadis-skadis-pegboard-accessories
@@makerunit thank you so much bro thanks for the models
@@makerunitI don't even have a 3d printer or the board, but I appreciate the fact you uploaded the files!
Bro who is you
Yoo that’s some fast keystrokes
Oh yeah it’s a new way of typing that I invented!

Yeah I’m suprised too that IKEA has no actual solution in place to lock their items. I get that pencil holders and such don’t necessarily have the same requirements as a tool wall but yeah still weird things are so loose.
I mean just adding a tiny locking piece to the already existing brackets would work too, and it’s weird that they don’t even offer that.
i love the way you just mess with your keyboard while you ‘design’ the blueprints.. so Hilarious 😆😆
Oh believe me it’s 100% legit how it’s done 🤞😂
@makerunit For the keyboard typing gag, use floppy tpu drumsticks next time
Hahah that’d be funny 😁 great idea! Too bad I don’t have any TPU laying around 🥲 perhaps I should consider getting some 😁
What's the CAD/Slicer have you used for modelling? Shapr3d?
It’s not a slicer but a CAD program called Shapr3D. You’re right!🙃
I went to a department store to buy stuff for my garage. It worked out.
Nice
which Material did you use?
PETG as it doesn’t really absorb water.

You have these files up some place by chance? I’ve liked their peg boards but have held off on them for the exact reasons you’ve listed

You should 3d print the peg bord! 3d print everything lol

I always hade this idea to use these panels to hold my pc component that I don't use anymore. Just an idea🙃
Me too! I thought about that too, wall mounted PCs are cool!
I can't remember when I got this old, but man that's a beautiful paper towel holder!

Hmm, why buy the pegboard just to print the hangars (pegboard largest size is 30inx22in) when you can print the pegboard entirely. Make it any size!
