Counting is not the issue. Hand counting a selected contest should be encouraged to verify machine accuracy. The issue is where for example the mark is slightly outside the circle. No other marks, so the machine counts it legit, BUT the board says can't be outside the mark, so they toss the vote. Florida chads 2.0.
It would make it way easier to add in extra votes to swing a election .

But It won't eliminate fraud. Doing a hand count is just counting the votes, including any fraudulent votes. Once the fraudulent votes enter the stream, they will be unidentifiable as being fraudulent. The fact we use a secret ballot is the key reason voter fraud can exist. No way to verify that each vote counted matches an actual voter.

That’s issue here in GA. You can go to the DMV and get a drivers license with only two bills proving residency. Then the DMV worker will ask you “do you want to register to vote”
She never verifies citizenship and clicks the box yes.
Come voting time the illegal who was illegally registered to vote shows up at the polls.
When they show their ID the poll worker is only verifying that the name on the ID is registered to vote, not citizenship. Thats how they illegally vote in GA, not voting day but with the registration

These seem reasonable. VA has gone to 100% paper ballots, hand counted. Everyone could, it's what most European countries do, and we used to.

This is not about hand counts or recounts. They conduct automatic recounts already. This is about fixing the votes for Trump. He needed to fix 11,780 votes last time and couldn't do it. We were never supposed to know; it was caught on tape.
back in 2019 i worked with a young kid who was convinced 2016 was illegitimate. i said, it's an easy fix, just go to all paper ballots. he looked at me like i had 3 heads and said, "but that will take weeks to count!" i just laughed and walked away.
Canada uses all paper ballots AND has results within 2 hours of polls closing...

One of the issues last time was chain of custody. There was no count between pick up and consolidation. So they no idea how many were left with to compare with how many arrived.

They can "investigate" counts and throw out ones they don't want so they can rig it for their candidate. This will delay and disrupt the election. It will take an immense amount of time because every precinct will have to be audited now as this invites rampant tampering. That is why this is controversial. It is a scam to rig the election.

Why would anyone complain about a rule change that makes the process more accountable, unless their plan was to cheat.
Because anyone with a biased agenda who is certifying the vote count could refuse to certify them even if there is no issue with the ballots. That will cause chaos in votes counting on election night which will result in that State electoral college not being called to a particular candidate which is just what Trump wanted. In that scenario, the vote counting process will go all the way up to the Supreme Court where Trump has his buddies ready to do his bidding. This is pure election interference and not anything to make the process more accountable. Why now? Why didn't they make the change 6 months ago? Now, who is cheating, now?

@@luvya9471 Considering there were over 60+ lawsuits and investigations into voter fraud in the 2020 elections and there was found to be absolutely ZERO evidence of election interference, I'd say the 2020 election was pretty fair. Over 30 of the cases were thrown out or withdrawn by the Trump legal team because they were completely baseless claims. The 2020 election had zero interference, as has been proven time and time again. Get out of your delusion.

All votes should be photographed paper ballots, and logged once. All disputes should be handled day 1 with Id only. Period. No exceptions.

According to the newscasters and some of the critics in this report, having ballots hand-counted by three separate election workers is "controversial", could "sow chaos", is "dangerous", and "could undermine confidence". Something really doesn't add up here. Having three separate people hand-count ballots sounds like a common-sense measure that should have been in place already, and that should increase, not decrease, confidence in the results.

Not all machines check for signature and states do not verify with one another to check if someone voted in another state, things like that MUST be verified independently. That's why people in CA did in fact also vote in AZ and nothing was done about it. And their machines were not even operating so why does everyone put all their trust in the machines. Weirdos.

Based on this reporting, there do appear to be legitimate concerns that have nothing to do with any perceived/intended improvement in the accuracy of the count. As a process improvement expert, I can assure you that inserting additional reviews - especially human ones - into a process actually makes it LESS reliable. What happens is, that at each stage of reviews, the human reviewing is less inclined to be as careful as they are when it all depends on them; as they are now under more time pressure to allow for the additional reviews, and the human brain justifies this by thinking, "Oh, there will be/were X other reviewers, so it's not such a big deal if I miss a few - one of them will surely catch it." Well, when, in accordance with human nature, all X reviewers approach the task like that - even subconsciously - the quality of the output is invariably reduced as the error margin is increased. Reference to this may be found in Harvard Business School Case Studies, as well as LEAN Six-Sigma and Quality Management BOKs.

The question that should be asked is who is doing the “checking” , who gets to decide if a vote is valid? If I’m a trump supporter, I suddenly notice too many people voting for Harris and I’m invalidating a lot of those votes.
Let's break this down to something easier for you to understand. Its like you boss from work is gonna order pizza for the office on friday, they send their secretary around to see what people want cheese or pepperoni. when the vote comes back to the boss and he sees cheese was 60% of the vote, he doesn't like that so he goes "no I want pepperoni" and puts the order in for pepperoni. Because it takes a long time to count given it’s entered into a computer. Furthermore they hand counted ballots in 2020 and lot of the errors found was due to the “uneducated” poll workers not knowing how to count properly and kept recounting the same votes over and over. This will just lead to more of this.
You could easily set up a scan system that A) scans them in one batch and B) marks/stamps/burns the page when its scan so it can’t be rescanned/the “uneducated” workers won’t “accidentally” enter the same batches over and over

We shouldn't do it period. However if we're going to do it mail-in ballots must be counted before election Day votes. I am a born and raised Georgian I approve this new rule change it needs to happen.
The reason this rule hasn't existed before is because it is illegal. It is NOT the responsibility of any election board to hold up certification in order to "investigate" or double-check the vote. Their job is ONLY to record the vote and certify the numbers of votes.
If any voter fraud or election fraud is suspected, that is the responsibility of law enforcement and the courts, AFTER an election has been certified. There is always time between election day and inauguration day to do that. We saw this after the 2020 election, when Trump's lawyers lost 60 court cases, falsely claiming the election was stolen.

It won’t stop anyone from voting. Worst case scenario is this: all voting precincts refuse to certify the votes cast before the deadline. This disenfranchises all the voters of Georgia.

The potential for abuse of this regulation is high, and could be exploited by either government officials or bad actors outside of Georgia government.

It’s common sense that you would not CERTIFY until you are certain. That was the problem with 2020. There were all kinds of problems and it was all certified and swept under the rug and politicized to where judges would not touch it.
Judges wouldn't touch it because the accusations had no proof. It lead to Rudy being disbarred if you recall. Even the republican paid for Cyber Ninjias didn't find any proof. Hard investigations turned up no widespread tampering. Only people trying to vote multiple times which turned out to be more republicans following Trumps orders to vote more than once.

There's no reason votes can't be done in one day. It's observed that it takes days and weeks to count votes. States with double GA population have the counts done in one day, with no issues.
Argentina had paper ballot election counted in one day. That is only impossible in Dem ran states and cities.
