Love the rolling scrap lumber storage! For the artwork, I would buy a sheet of pegboard that you could artistically personalize with paint. Then when it's hung, you have tool storage as a bonus. 😻
I love the cart. The concept of the shower curtain art is good. Maybe select a piece of fabric from your fabric store or even cover it with a good quality drop cloth and paint on it.
Tina, they make higher power batteries for Ryobi tools! If you snag one of those, your forstner bits will work just fine. I do it all the time! It also helps if you drill a tiny pilot hole for the center of the bit to go into.
Oh Tina you are just so great at the DIYs that you are doing. I really agree with you on this workshop area looking so much better, and that black shelf in the corner looks really good, and also that storage cart you created looks so amazing and I do love those edges that you painted that really pretty green, I am just really liking the look of it and so awesome you can put all of those wood scraps in there to keep them in a great place to use for other fun projects. That shower curtain you used for that art project is cool looking and if you end up not liking it I am sure you will find something else to use to create a beautiful piece of art for the wall. You are so good at creating things I feel like you could paint something on a piece of fabric or even use a beautiful piece of fabric with a lovely pattern on it and frame that up. Thanks again Tina and Brian for being so wonderful, have a beautiful day, sending love and hugs, bye! 😂😊🥰🤗🙏👍👋💜💜
You should make a canvas frame staple the canvas fabric to the frame , Jesco, and paint your own HUGE back drop! When your done trim it out with decorative trim/molding!
I think I agree with living with the art and see how you feel about it-though I feel like something bolder or more colourful would better suit the space and be seen more! ❤
Your cart is a great idea and as usual, you did a great job on it. The artwork looks fine from here, so use it until you find something you like more. Your tool storage shelf looks like it holds all your stuff and is very neat. Good job, as usual.
Great lumber cart you built! You are correct. NO gloves while using tools, but YES for eye protection. As for perfection, give yourself some Grace and enjoy the fruits of your labor. You deserve it. 😊
Great self-care Tina!!! Since ART & DIY are your job, it's so important that you organize it and make sure it's the functional and beautiful space you need it to be. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Mickey Rooney said - You always pass failure on your way to success. I love the shapes on the artwork and the pattern. I think you should just paint it using the same shapes, but different colours that you like then the imperfections will be covered.
Thinking the same thing; it looks good, but I guess in person ...? It looks like that faux silk, so painting? I guess, first, use some type of fabric primer? That material will soak up paint!!
❤ looks really great with what youve done ❤And i love that you made that cart! After my move, im gonna be making that same design to organize my canvases.
Hello Tina!!!.......Tip........ I've been watching your videos almost since the beginning and I admire your progress!!! Well done to both you and Brian!!! What a nice makeover, as for the diy art you made from a shower curtain, I like it a lot. You may add strokes of acrylic paint to the finishes of each design and in that way it will become more alive and maybe you will like it more!!!
For the shower curtain art: that is such a simple design. I would get rid of the shower curtain (donate it) and then just get a new drop cloth and paint that same design right on the drop cloth. You are a fantastic painter, afterall.
For drilling holes like that, it would be better to use a corded drill. It's not that you are not strong enough to drill the holes, it's that the drill is not.
Hallelujah honestly I was like wth and I’ll be honest it’s not obvious there’s a guy I watch who doe’s furniture and he was using a battery powered drill and a hole saw to go into oak! He does welding and plenty of different woodworking projects not for one second did I think he wouldn’t already know that. Just goes to show there is always lots to learn whatever you do wherever you are, there is so much more ❤
@@laurafisher6531 It is not obvious! I do a lot of wood working projects and did not know that a dull saw blade would cause my saw to be really hard to cut through the wood and get stuck. I thought I was just not strong enough to handle the saw while cutting 4 inch wood. (I didn't realize that the blade was dull. It's not that old.) I got a new blade just on a whim, and it cut like butter. Now when I'm having issues cutting or drilling, I just assume that it's the equipment and troubleshoot from there.
@@laurafisher6531 I'm sorry that my comment gave you the impression I was upset. I agree with you. There is so much to learn with wood working. Just another example of something new I learned.
21:57 you could probably take the shower curtain off and paint on the drop cloth that is underneath it. Other than the paint (unless you use some you already have) there would be no extra cost.
Great job on this, Tina. This will definitely reduce stress in your life, even if it isn't everything you envision right now. The shower curtain art looks nice on camera, even if you are not thrilled with how it looks up close and personal.
Keep saving your scraps of wood! I used to throw away my small pieces of fabric when sewing and then discovered the possibilities of all things scrappy...maybe a scrap wood art piece!
It is so much easier to get things done when a space is confortable and organized, i'm doing my laundry/ tools-workshop space since a few days and i can already feel the relief of being able to do things easier in the future. For the art, maybe try to turn it differently, something interesting may catch your interest, who knows. Great job as always Tina and i'm happy you have a better space for your work.
I think you could just paint your simple geometric design straight onto the drop cloth. It would look more like canvas artwork, and it would be more fun. You could also attach a thin trim to the edges to give it a framed look.
The cart build looks so good, I must admit to anxiety when you have been previously cutting on a box😂 I like the idea of the shower curtain art but honestly what about either another blackboard wall? You are such a fabulous artist so could create different backdrops when you want to, even featuring new lines of your prints for sale? That new jig looks like a real time saver as well, which got me thinking perhaps you could put together an episode of your trusted diy tools for beginners & items to avoid. Same for crafting supplies you have a lot of knowledge😊
You are such a talented artist, you should create a piece of art on the drop cloth. It will be so much better than the shower curtain pattern. Love the storage build!!
First of all- it all turned out fabulous. I LOVE that cart! That Kreg jig has been on my wishlist for a while. As for the shower curtain canvas- I know the pain of trying to fuss with that fabric- so I think it turned out pretty nice (or so it looks like it on my screen). But it definitely needed a stabilizer, I don't know how else you could have done it other than how you did it. lol I mean spray adhesive on that fabric would have been a nightmare (I assume) and it's too big for iron on (another nightmare). So other than that I don't know how else to improve upon it. I don't know if that fabric would accept gesso or priming to turn it into a canvas to create even the same design. If I ended up not liking it after I left it alone for a while- I'd still experiment before I tore it off as a total loss. Thanks for sharing all you do! Our weather just took a turn for the cold- so while my garage is insulated, it's not heated. Even though I'm in the PNW, it's just not as fun to shiver over a project as it is to complain about the heat. lol
Good cart! Tip: your drill, Ryobi, is underpowered. You'll have an easier time if you get a better drill. :) Also, don't get rid of the other pocket home jig cause you'll need it sometimes!
I bet it feels like you can breathe now that the workshop is tidier 😆 Awesome job, it looks great so far and I love the storage cart you made, it looks so cool 😍 Using wheels is also such a great idea!
Hahah, thank you!! It's amazing what a tan can do 😂 And thank you, you are so kind!! I started double shampooing my hair and using a shower head with a water filter, it's made all the difference 👏
Your workshop is coming along nicely, I love the wood storage cart and how much more space you have after organizimg everything! The shower curtain art hack is genius but i think the colors are too muted for the space, I honestly think you could paint something way better on that canvass instead, like your previous garage 🥰 whatever you choose, it will look great once it all comes together!
Transition is always two steps backwards Before four ahead as everything gets so rattled for awhile but Your handling it & now everything is starting to flow with progression again ... OH ,forgot to mention You can use drop cloth material to paint on just need to pretreat it like any other canvas after of course making you a big frame to Make it Look Like a bought canvas 😂 Your garage will surly get organized quickly as now You've done it before & its already Looking good but of course its creativity in progressively organized steps. Will be especially easier since the one You Left Behind at the Chicago House was a Magnificent Work and creative space 😮
Tina, you are correct about no gloves being safest with a drill. Any machinery with moving parts can grab the fabric and drag the hand into it, causing injury. Love your videos so much btw xx
Hi, the gloves are not safe because it's a circular "instrument"... I mean, it's something that circles with power, so imagine if somehow your hand slips and the rolling part takes the glove, you cannot put out your hand so it's safer without gloves.
I need to know, do the neighbors hear you when you use your tools and have they said anything? I love how you just put the green as little high lights and left the rest just plain wood, and your art work is stunning ❤❤
Tina i really enjoyed the new video! Im doing well! I just got hired on another project as a apprentice electrician. When i get my new place I'm going to make your diy headboard for my New bed!
I made large scale DIY art from buying a nice tapestry and stapling it to a wooden frame instead of a shower curtain. Maybe the difference in material makes it more manageable?
Maybe you could have positioned the wood against the wall and used spaces to protect the wall. It's easier using the force of your whole body to drill holes like that
Glad to see you finally have a better work space/area. I've been saying that all along, that you needed a work bench. Concern: why aren't you wearing safety glasses?
Is it hard for you going from a home owner to a renter? My husband and I at one point in our life went from home owner to renters, it was so difficult for us.

I have listened to audiobooks for years, mostly when I drive but when I am cleaning, creating, decluttering etc. Best thing ever!!
I really like the shower curtain artwork. Maybe the sage green trim of the wood cart right below it is what is throwing it off.
The cart is so cute!! And the art came out great! ❤❤

So proud of you, honey! I know that you’ve been wanting to do this makeover for the longest time 💛 can’t wait to see the final makeover, love!

what do you think about a frame around the shower curtain? the face of the frame that same green. the sides natural pine.
You could take the shower curtain off and just put some gesso over the drop cloth and paint it like a canvas.

Maybe with the shower curtain you can cover it with gesso and paint it, or get a bed sheet from the thrift store and is that for the canvas instead
