    Sirf damper winding dalne se aisa kya change hua jo rotate karne laga wo samjhaiye. Field to abhi bhi synchronous speed par hai chal raha hai to ab kaise catch kiya rotor ne

    If damper winding is not there but we are applying initial speed to rotor until it reaches to synchronous speed is it rotates or not sir..?

      Because construction of induction is different than that of Synchronous

      Induction motor is single excited machine i.e only stator is supplied by 3 phase ac while synchronous motor is doubly excited machine i.e stator is supplied with 3 phase ac supply which produce/ generate rotating/ revolving magnetic field (which rotates at synchronous speed Ns = 120*f/p) and rotor is supplied with DC supply which produce a constant North South poles on rotor. On the other hand Induction motor rotor is not given any supply and stator is supplied with 3 phase ac supply. Induction motor working principle is similar to a Transformer but here rotating and transformer is stationary device therefor induction motor is also known as rotating transformer.
