Very nice gold for such a smaller area think you should have worn golf shoes so your footing would’ve been a little more sure lol over all it will be interesting to see how and what comes out of that area!! We have been tearing up our rock bar we have been working and this laid into the season it’s awesome but like you said you don’t know how much longer to hold out because once the ice hits the rock bar locks up and that’s all she wrote have a merry Christmas and a happy new year Jason!🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 out for now

    Geological analysis of this spot.
In the creek are basaltic mafic (heavy iron concentrated) balsaltic "mafic" or (higher silicate concentrated) granitic "felsic" rocks lie above the clays, sands, and silts. (1) Either these rocks lie above the clays, sands, and silts of the much-earlier time of the Midwest (and Great Lakes shallow sea (60 million years ago) - or (2) these rocks are part of the underground degraded bedrock upon which the shallow sea existed. The clays, sands, and silts would then filter down through the cracks and cavities of the degrated bedrock.
Hint - There appears no singular sedimentary or metamorphic rock layers (sand- sandstone, clay-clay stone, mud-mud stone, shale, slate, schist, limestone, gypsum). There are no intrusive metamorphic rock layers with the basalt or granite. Any ancient shallow sea of eroded beach sand (and organics) would metamorphosize into these higher rock categories. Having a glacier run over the top of them, would grind them back down (reverse metamorphosis) back into all of their tiny sand, clay, and muds. One would then have these shallow sea degraded materials, above degrated bedrock material, with a final deep and intact bedrock.
Hint - Without a greater inspection, its appears that there are no green stone, blue stone, or gray stone (graywacke) sedimentary ocean sandstone with colored clays undergoing much-ancient immense metamorphic pressures. These are very finely crystallized stones. They could only be gouged out of the Great Lakes and Ontario Abitibi blue stone and evaporated gold formations by glaciation, then pushed up, moved south, and dropped against the Wisconsin North-Central mountain range flat delta landscape as glacier erratics and debris. We know of this happening in northern Wisconsin, but not of these rocks in this area. So no metamorphism is seen in these rocks that could be attributed to the ancient shallow sea, followed by the 10,000 year old glaciation period. Rocks on the Lake Superior shoreline have all these characteristics of multiple layerings, multiple rock categories, showing that they were from Ontario and the Great Lakes and brought to the surface by glaciation, ... and current lake action movements.
Hint - The majority of the boulders, rocks, and cobbles are rounded. Some smaller rocks have some angularity - meaning they were calved off in later times - and younger. The bigger rocks were worn from movement, abrasion, and a long period of time. Are these original rocks of this location, or rocks moved from the North-Central mountain range by retreating glaciation, and/or rocks brought from Canada by the glaciers, and dropped as erratics and morraines.
Where did these rocks and boulders come from ? Depending on this undisclosed site location - they would come from the glacial northern side of the North-Central mountain ridge of Wisconsin - or - pushed and grounded round by the glaciers scraping them all the way from Ontario and the Great Lakes in the ancient past into Wisconsin. Any Canadian glacial rocks and boulders would have become a rock grinder against the more-resilient American rocks and boulders. Are these double or triple orogenies at play here - (1) relocated Canadian rocks, (2) original American rocks of the North-Central mountain range, and/or (3) the original bedrock of this delta area ?
These rocks and boulders would NOT have naturally cracked, eroded, and fallen down northward from the North-Central tectonic (basalt and granite) mountain ridge - and somehow with some massive Noah's flash floodings have washed them far away and widespread across the north from the actual tectonic mountains. Rocks and boulders don't have legs, walk or roll away, so there must be some greater external force moving them there. They were there, and any additional glaciation would/could have dropped additional material atop this area.
So, (1) IF they were from the North-Central mountain range, the only possibility for these rocks and boulders at this site would be from glacial action ripping and tearing apart the mountain range, then retreating and dropping these ground-round erratics across a wide and shallow debris field atop all these clays and silts of an ancient shallow sea. (2) IF they were pushed from Ontario, then this area would again have glacier moraines, from melting and retreating glaciers dropping their erratics as they departed.
We could study the deeper rocks strata, but we haven't come to the depth of the actual intact bedrock. Are these the remains of a higher elevation of original bedrock as an "orogeny" ( = original geological location and creation) ? The miles high glaciers sliding, grinding, pressuring, cracking, and crunching any original bedrock would have done a job on less dense rocks (giving clays, sands, silts, muds, black sands, gold, precious and industrial metals), while the heavier and denser rocks (basalts and granites) would have remained as larger objects. With retreating glaciers dumping moraines and erratics, alongside all of the grounded clays, sands, silts (etc.) into all of the crannies and cracks of the destroyed bedrock. Glaciation and high pressures could also create their own metamorphic rocks.
Could there be glacial metamorphism here ? We do not see ancient shallow sea sedimentation and metamorphic rocks. We do not see any remaing evidence of what could be glacial metamorphism. The only remains (if they are there) are from reverse metamorphism destroying any prior metamorphic rocks (thats a "duh" statement). Clays, sands, and silts remain that are not part of the rock cycles of basalts or granites. Any such fine tailings would be from erosion or glaciation, and leaving the remains in the degraded and cracked bedrock of the area.
So by all categories, these rocks and boulders are from (1) the orogeny of this area of degraded and crunched bedrock under glacial weight, (2) any possible relocations of North-Central mountain range rocks carried northward and dropped by glacial retreat (and other fine clays etc), and (3) possible relocations of Canadian and Great Lakes sedimentary metamorphic rocks underground reverse metamorphism - and further Canadian rocks and boulders (and clays and silts) moved as glacial erratics and morraines, and dropped in the area.
What does this leave as consideration as to where these black sands and gold shinies came from ? (1) The North-Central mountain range was ground down and relocated as rocks, boulders, and moraine siltation by retreating glaciers - and - (2) Canadian relocation of rocks and sediments by retreating glaciers.
Depending on the actual and intact depth of the bedrock, all such activity of ancient times lies above the bedrock, of the most-ancient of shallow seas, later tectonic uplift of the North-Central mountain range, the much-later glaciation period, and that of modern processes in the area.

Merry Christmas! Ryan looked like a kid when you gave him the paydirt! Shockingly you found some good gold after finding a tree that's leaning a decent amount over your head again... lol. I guess you can call the dirt "danger pay".
