I just had to replace the battery in one at 1:00 AM. I had a whole pack of 9 volts, and none of them worked. When I checked them, they were all somehow almost dead. So I had to run to the only place open at 1:00 AM, and sure enough, they had a single 9v battery... FOR $10. They know what they are doing too, the employee asked "smoke detector?"
