Right! When I come across articles that say, "10 subtle signs you're being manipulated", and read them, the signs they talk about are NOT subtle at all. Like glaringly obvious to me. I guess they are obvious for those of us who have been through it. No, subtle is the things I spot now... a flash of something across their face, a change in their tone of voice, and just something in your gut that feels heavy and tense and unsafe even if things 'seem' okay on the surface.
