So, I flat ironed my daughter's Hair last week using your method and it reverted back marvelously! No heat damage. Just as curly as before. Definitely using this method from now on. Thanks!
saja loka Omg! I was feeling bad about wearing weave while I go natural I'm glad I'm not the only one.. I wear my weave to protect my hair while it grows out the perm
The weave actually protects your hair? But how? I thought it would cause it to break more? Which kind do you think is best (clip in, glue, sew in, etc.?)
I gave myself a bad perm. I overprocessed.. literally washing my hair down the drain!! I did my big chop ( to the scalp) 7 months ago. My hair has grown in so thick and full. I'm really loving it. Along the way, I've been watching your natural hair journey. You have inspired me to keep going. Maintaining it can be so much at times, I actually thought of perming it again. That thought left my mind quickly - I'VE COME TOO FAR! 😂 I'll be getting my first trim and flat ironing it, spring 2016... I can't wait to see how much it's actually grown! I'll be following your detailed instructions on how to prepare my hair for the salon visit. Wow..thank you! Keep up the good work sis - I'll be watching. Your locks have grown out beautifully!
I use the kiehls straightening cream that also is a heat protectant and it really gets my hair Bone Straight. I just posted my bone straight flat iron routine
The arguments here are nothing short of idiotic! If a black women wants to wear weave, sew ins, etc., that's her choice. She is the only one who has a say in what goes on her head. And we don't do it because it 'makes us prettier,' we might do it because it is the best option for us at the time. We might have cut our hair, and want to grow it out under the synthetic hair, or our hair seems hard to manage and we don't have time and tolerance for it. Quite simple.
Your hair is beautiful curly and straight, but my fave was curly/natural and combed out! When you had it in the clips to straighten it, it looked pretty too, almost like a vintage look.. I know it wasn't on purpose lol but you and your hair are pretty..=]
Yoga does relieve stress and good for health.I have tried many hair loss creams and oils but found everyone not lasting longer but one have produces good results and lasts longer called argan life products
Your hair is amazing naturally and straightened. Also helped me realise my hair is very heat damaged. Thanks so much, starting my hair journey today thanks to you :)
Black people can not just wash there hair & let it dry overnight without combing it out, putting oil in it and twisting it in some type of protective style then wrapping it up. If we did it would be dry & matted & too ruff to work with!
That is b***s***... White women have their hair regimes as well and do not wake up looking like in a commercial. A lot of them put their hair into braids every evening before going to bed. My god... They have the same poblems to keep their hair styles look good the whole day... For every hair type there are a lot of women that have problems and just a few are lucky to have super hair with little effort. Just look all those hair care viseos for straight hair.. No offense, I also had to learn that my hair is manegable and it took a while. But super curly hair is not dry and unmanegable. When the Europeans destroid Africas cultures, they erased aswell knowledge about hair care. The slaves in America did not have the materials and knowledge how to care for their hair nor the resources. The result is wierd stuff they applied to their hair like petrolium (whites did too, by the way). Castor oil for example is from Africa and was used as hair and skin care. The african people who were forced to go to the Carebean brought the castor nut with them for example. This is why we still find castor oil in this area as black hair care product. Anyhow. I mainly use Castor oil and just a few other things, that I do not share. No coconut oil for example or keratin stuff. This gives me just the worst dense texture and I end up with a dry unmanegable sponge on my head for days. With the right regime my hair keeps 70% of its length and does not shrink so much. You girls are just too convinced that our super curly hair is in no way manegable without force. You have to concider that any vosmetic reseaech about super curly hair of most black people was not baaed aon intentions to get the best out of it rather then to make it look like caucasion straight hair. My advice eliminate any shampoo, conditionair and cream that containa coconut and contains more than 10-15 incrediance. And don't be scared of washing your hair. This is the only way to remoisterise it. Explaining everything would take to long, but there are a lot more tricks.
Honestly, I can't use heat protectants because it just makes my hair stiff and oily. My hair doesn't absorb unnatural products very well, and most heat protectants are not natural, unlike a lot of leave in conditioners and oils. But you don't need a heat protectant for the most part. The biggest thing I've noticed when it comes to doing your hair is that most people just have their flat iron too high and they blow dry their hair immediately after getting out of the shower, which is the worst thing you can do. There's a reason why hair stylists don't blow dry your hair immediately after it's wet. Your hair should absorb the moisture. It only takes about 2-3 hours for your hair to air dry by itself, depending on how much hair you actually have and the hair type, maybe a bit longer. But your technique would work for a lot of women. I do pretty much the same thing, but I don't use nearly as many products as you do just because of my hair type.
***** I found only one that works, and that's Suave Natural's Heat Protectant. It's really thick, so I only need like...barely a dime size, but it allows my hair to retain the volume that it has. Most heat protectants help flatten my hair, but it just makes it look really thin and lifeless.
women in general wear weaves for different reasons ... don't let the weaves fool you, a lot of us black women have lots of hair and just because we have weave doesn't mean we're not being us... we're versatile and you're uneducated about our hair obviously...
idky why people who live in America (or whoever you are from i'm so sorry I lack knowledge) like to blow dry their hair. I just let it dry over night. because I dun wanna furthermore put heat on my hair. Plus if I blow dry I am pretty much sure I WILL BE TOO LAZY to continue straighting xD that shit sores my hair enough.
***** my hair doesn't get tangled when dry. My hair is very soft and it's in the medium range of hair. Once I blow dry with cool air or hot air, it's big and puffy. I shower, brush it, and twist it into a bun, and I wake up with beautiful hair. Simple as that
thank you, this really helped. my hair is a misxture of black, and white people hair cuz I'm mixed-race, so it isn't as curly as yours, but when I wash it and brush it, it gets very frizzy like yours. I will try this out, thanks :) and remember: whatever hair texture you have, it's beautiful because God blessed you with it :)
my mom just got that blow dryer today, it works miracles! I'm in the process of transitioning right now and your videos really helped me with keeping myself from giving into not stressing over my hair.
There are women who's entire existence is based upon having opinions on issues and putting people down for being anything they think is detrimental to their opinions. I think this video is great for people who need to learn how to practice better heat management skills as well as newbies who are unsure where to start. Don't allow negative comments discourage you exploring different hairstyles(even involving heat) because with the right guidance you can better understand how to properly take care of your hair.
I think some black people are lying about being mixed. Nothing wrong with being black. Stop self hating and love yourself. Especially people who look like off the boat black stop saying your mixed when most likely your not. No offence to really mixed dark skinned people. But it annoys me why some black people dont want to be pure black and lie about being mixed. Arrrgh. Be happy what race you were born with
LOOOOOVEEEE What you just said. It's my greatest problem. I can't stand it, even when ppl say things like yes I'm quarter this and my great grandma is that. LOL too funny
Lol some of us really are so its kinda annoying when someone full white goes around telling black people how mixed they are and you don't even know the people's ancestry! The majority of the time most black people are mixed lol hell I know I am and I'm as light as a tanned white person. Always been that way. I never bring up being mixed but when people ask I tell the truth, yes I'm mixed and yes my family is from all over the world! I shouldn't have to feel afraid to talk about my other ancestry aside from black! What's the fkn deal anyway? A black person in america is only allowed to say there are African? Shit when people loom at you they know your of African decent lol we can't hide it! Its a strong gene to have and it'll show in one or more ways, your hair or eyes or the color of your skin! You just can't hide it, so yes, mixed black people normally look black lol because they're part black, and many have features of ancestors that don't originate from the tribes of africans that were in slaved here in america! Personally I can't understand why your posting this under her video because its seems like an asshole thing to do! Nobody goes on white videos proclaiming that the white people who claim to be mixed even though they're clearly not because most white people are only of eourpean origins, are self haters as you call it, and how we can't stand it! Look we dont care lol, especially not enough go post that crap under a harmless ladies video, and I think I speak for many people on that. I once knew a lady that was dark skinned and when she showed me her mother, she wasn't black at all! She said people didn't believe her because she was dark and had genetically taken many of her fathers features like dark skin and a more flat shaped nose. Funny enough her father the very dark man had pictures and proff of his white ancestry, it was his great great great grandmother. And by the way I have cousin's that share the same mixed bloodline but ended up dark because of who my cousins parents chose to sleep with lol.
But seriously you people shouldn't listen to this person because its truly one of the most ignorant thing I've ever seen some one do on RUclips. Its like as she scrolled through the comments she noticed black people talking about being mixed, and somehow that just pissed her right off lol! I know there are black people who may have done this but seriously no matter what they look like you'll be shock to know part of who they really are! I know you said no offense to the black people that are mixed but it's offensive to blast an entire race of people under someones video. If that were my video and I saw this comment I'd be hurt because its like your really making fun of black people! Like your really think we hate ourselves lol, if you use proper English because you grew up in schools that taught good English, white people automatically get this superiority complex and assume we're' mimicking them! Oh and god don't be light skin oh lordy lordy masta gone get his will because you ppeople start really believing that we think we're one of you! God you wanna talk about pretentious? For someone to constantly bash another race of people usually means you've got insecurities, and if your not a good enough singer dancer employee or anything you run to the fact that at least your white! You ever stop to think that many black people are comfortable in their own skin and don't feel the need to only hang on to the fact that they're black? I know I don't and I love my kinky hair lol, I'm so comfortable being me, and proud of being black, I can also feel comfortable knowing that I'm part white eventhough I wish to god I wasn't!
mary Go away. This is my opinion I dont care what you said. I must of hit a nerve or something. Nobody told you to comment on this post so your OPINION doesn't matter to me.lol. SOME Black people lie and LIKE I said already, no offense to black people who are REALLY mixed. Now sling your hook
I have gone to countless salons to get my daughter's hair done. The heat with her thick curly hair has been dreadful. The concept of stretching and drying even with a cool temperature preserves some heat, then I just flat ironed it. I loved this suggestion.
Greetings from the Bahamas, My daughters have natural hair and won't even consider straightening their hair. I found you by searching and I found it very enlightening and informative. Thank you!
Is it funny that, as a Black guy in real life, I almost didn't know what a Black woman's hair looks like in a natural state? I see Black women with their hair straight so often, I almost forget that they have to straighten it.
I'm flat ironing my daughter's Hair for the second time. The first time I was afraid of hear damage so her hair really wasn't straight. But I deep conditioned over night and I'm going to use your technique to help prevent heat damage.
She said in the video she bought the flat iron at Sallys. I'm glad you had no heat damage, but could that possibly be due to the fact that you didn't use enough heat to really straighten your hair? Years ago when I would straighten my hair, it would be fluffy like that because of not using a high enough heat or using a crappy flat iron that didn't heat up right. Also, I've found that the flat ironing process will come out fluffy or not very straight if I rush through the blow drying and don't straighten it well enough during that process. I think it would benefit your straight style to use a bristle brush during blowdrying and using a higher heat on the flat iron. What's the point in straightening your hair if you can't even wear it because the style stills looks rather unkempt.
I thought your comment was very interesting because I personally don't like my hair when it's completely straight, you know what I mean. I actually prefer it the way hers is in this video, but with the iron I have it always comes out super straight, even on the lowest heat. So when I read your comment I was like, "oh, I guess people actually prefer it to be very straight." I bet she wanted it to come out the way it did :)
Well I wouldn't say "no heat damage". Kind of misinformation and impossible. No matter what, adding heat to your hair will cause a least a little heat damage. Obviously it won't mean your hair is ruined and needs to be chopped off. But "minimal heat damage" would have been proper. Just nitpicking a technicality.
"Proper" does fit. Try replacing it with "suitable" or "good" because it works in the same way. I know how to speak proper English, tyvm. ^^ Not everyone knows that. Many people think they actually can prevent *all* heat damage when they use heat on their hair. Thinking that *everyone* knows this just because you do and referring to them as "not bright" is pretty arrogant. And because I don't think in such a way, I like to add in anything that could possibly help, even if it's just one person. ^^
Honestly You Are Beautiful😍💕And The Fact That You Do You And Inspire Others Despite All The Rude Comments Towards Women Of Color 💬💭And Their Hair Types💇💆The Trim Was Amazing💛💙More Women If Color Should Be Inspired To Go Natural 🚫💇 Many People Want Gorgeous Hair Like Yours❤️ Sincerely, Milly❤️💛💚💙💜💗
What I don't understand is why some people think that their hair is not burning just because they have heat protector in their hair..... The product AND your hair is burning, but your hair just isn't burning as bad as it would without the product... It's the same concept as frying food in a pan/skillet. If you are trying to cook fish with no oil, butter, or anything, it will definitely burn. If you put oil in the pan, the fish will still cook, and even possibly burn, but it will not cook/burn as much as it would without oil.
najlae zwina ummm what?? If you think being honest and realistic is negative than you can just continue to enjoy your little fantasy land, but REAL life doesn't work that way... sorry if you didn't like what I said, but I don't make up the rules here regarding heat and physics... and science for that matter... people these days... oh well... I still have hope in humanity I guess...
I mean I'm not black, I'm kind of a light caramel brownish color if you get what I mean but my hair is just horrible and my sister's is really long and curly wavish and nice and thin
+Lizz Dorkable not sure if you ever found an answer to that question . But I have 4b/4c hair (just to give you an idea of my hair texture) and when I have my hair straightened I just make sure to wrap it at night time then put a scarf on . Also about every 2/3 days I'll put a little bit of oil on it .
Omfg this is the most annoying thing when people of other races tell the black race to stop wearing weave stop getting a perm stop trying to be white now I'm a young 13 year old black girl to see all this hate in the world just because one race is doing something with their hair like mind your own business I have been natural all my life and can proudly say I want and need to do protective styles such as braids with extentions like ways the problem it is the most disrespectful thing to say things like that to another when I have never been in their shoes. For me being natural gets tiring and stress and overwhelming and can understand why many black women and girls put weave or braids and I'm on verge of it to . I feel life this older generation doesn't get it why are you hating on another race like when I see these things on the news I'm shocked like why can't u hate someone for their actions but not the color of their skin this is why I'm proud to me apart of this generation that doesn't care about race but cares about someone for who they are so we can make a change
vixenmrb not all black people are like this. I hate it when people think we all have are pants done and all have weave or whatever. And I diagrwe that white people are better because no race is the best. So it isn't right for you to go around saying if your white you have advantages to black people. And if you reply I won't read or answer it because that made me sick.
I think a big reason why people ask women to stop wearing weave is because how much it hurts other women across the world. The hair care industry exploits Indian and other South Asian women and their hair is stolen from churches where they donated their hair to their God, and then the stolen hair is sold to hair vendors without the women knowing. Black women specifically have suffered at the hands of prejudice and racism and having their community torn down. To do the same thing to Indian and South Asian women over HAIR is unfair and unjust.
S P I don't recall ever mentioning weaves. I personally have been natural for over 2 yrs. I also did not say white ppl are better but they do feel they are superior whether u want to accept that truth or not that is reality. You can see that in comments whites make all over RUclips. Sad to say second reality check is there is white privilege or even being a light-skinned black person. If you read u history u would understand. This has been ongoing. Example look at the majority of successful black who head organizations ie, NAACP and others the ones at the top are almost always very light skinned blacks. Same w models. .. And almost always have white features. I seen this in my own personal experiences w a father that was sometimes mistakrn for being white and he was treated... You can go on and live in ur box as long as u like...
why on earth would you straighten your hair? It is so exotic on its own, I love it. I have a natural curl but it is not even or tidy, it always looks messy, (I have had people tell me to brush my hair.) I loved the flat iron tips. Your hair is great both ways.
Let me say the idea of attaching the comb to the flat iron is GENIUS. I used to always have to go over my hair with the flat iron so many time because my roots and ends would still be grizzly after one or two strokes.
Really great video! I'm a single dad and have a daughter in whose hair I've learned how to do. One area I have issue with is straightening but I'm going to purchase the products that you suggested. Thank you so much for sharing this!
If you rub heat protectant on your fingers then touch the hot plate, will it keep your skin from being burned/affected by the heat? Ppl say "Oh, that smoke coming out, that just the product, not my hair burning"--How do you know? Did your hair tell you that?🙍🏼😳 "Heat protectants" are as real as a unicorn, folks.🦄 #heatisheat
+JasmineSkyy yes, but I said burned/affected. Heat is heat. It changes things..and generally not for the better if used long term on hair, no matter how low the temp is set. Do your thing but folks should know when heat is involved there's really no such thing as "no heat damage".
Zhiara Price pur hair grows the same as anyone else. we just don't use the correct method to retain length and it appears to grow slow BC of the tight coils.
everyone in my family works too much to help me with my hair like i dont even know how to wrap my hair correctly so yeah im very grateful for videos like this thank you
This was great. I really appreciate your effort in putting these videos together. I've always wanted to straighten my hair healthily, but have never felt confident enough to do so. Again: thanks.
U have beautiful hair! Im natural now for 7 months, the front of my hair is heat damaged that its almost straight smh but regardless my hair has grown so much and healthier than it has ever since ive stopped using that creamy crack!! Thanks for this tutorial!
I been natrual for 2 years now. hair is already past my shoulders. i flat iron my hair for the first time today just to get a trim. and i love my hair. and i also used the same flat iron you have bought it last year and finaly desided to use it. love it.
Doing some research for a novel I'm writing, brought me to your video. Incredibly informative and it's these little details that bring characters in stories to life, so thank you. I have to say though, you look gorgeous with both straight and curly hair.
Kelly thanks for your response. First, I love my natural hair. I will admit it did take a while to fall in love, but I did. Secondly, my goal has never been to look white. As a student journalist, it was in my best interest to straighten my hair temporarily for anchor auditions and on-air news stories. The question I posed was how to keep the style after putting time into it. Plus, its my hair my preference. Maybe you should understand before you attack in a comment.
OMG YOUR HAIR IS SOOOOO LONG, THICK & BEAUTIFUL!! MY HAIR IS A LITTLE BIT PAST MY SHOULDERS BUT I CANNOT WAIT TIL IT GER LONG & PRETTY LIKE YOURS!! YOUR LENGTH IS PERFECT FOR ME!!
Your videos, this one in particular, are some of the first videos I watched that actually motivated me to stop straightening my already relaxer damaged hair and to really work towards a healthier care routine for my hair. That was about three years ago. Now I know how to protect my hair when straightening and know not to overdue it. Now I have become confident enough with my natural texture and have gone as far as to start my own channel, I just wanted to drop in and say thank you.
this video was very helpful to me because i have an event to go to this weekend and i have not used heat on my hair for one year , besides one time to stretch it for braiding . And i had been apprehensive about doing it now , i love my natural texture and don't wanna damage it . But this video gives me a better out look on straightening my hair.
Just for the record; I am a black woman and I love my hair, my skin tone and my race. I'm glad that I was born a black woman because it has provided me with so much social awareness; just thinking of a me that would have been so blind to the suffering of other races and peoples of color makes me so thankful that I am in fact black. On an end note, although I am black I am neither loud, obnoxious, stupid, promiscuous nor am I prone to anger - unless faced with injustice - so end the stereotyping.
This is hands down the best vid ive ever seen. It's very insightful, and has given me confidence to start my own hair regimen and stop with the weaves/extensions! thanks! :-)
very nice tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to put the tutorial together. Whenever I straighten my hair, it looks horrible. But when my stylist doesn't, it looks amazing. I'll have to try the low heat when I blow dry or along with making sure to keep my hair damp a little. Thank you again ♡♡♡♡
I have been using Pro Naturals argan oil as heat protectant whenever I style my hair, and my Karmin G3 flat iron has been kind to my tresses (no burning, no drying). Love it! ;)
Her hair is pretty when straightened... My hair when managable is the same texture... but i never thought of doing the comb glide.. thats a good tip. i'll remember that when school starts
It can take a while for curls to revert when they receive heat damage, & if they do revert after heat damage they can be looser than your original curls. Try avoiding heat for a while (NO flat iron, NO curling iron, NO blow dryer), & do twists/braids nightly to "remind" your hair of its curl pattern. Using perm rods can help. Of course, this won't guarantee you'll get your curls back since you seem to have extensive damage. If so, you'll have to cut the straightened hair. Hope this helps =)
I can't wait until my hair grows out to be that long. I have been NATURAL for 6 months and i just did the big chop at the beginning of June and I can't wait to see how long it grows.
No one is bashing women with relaxed hair, I used to relax my hair. I'm on both sides of the spectrum. And in my personal opinion, because I am entitled to one, natural hair looks better. It's just healthier, and at the end of the day, isn't that the goal that WE ALL want to achieve? HEALTHIER HAIR!!! I did a big chop in April 2012, my hair right now is touching my collar bone. One of THE BEST DECISIONS I've made thus far, is going natural, and I have "NO REGRETS"...
I love ur demonstration on flat ironing ur hair. At the of the recording was that u with short style hair. If so WOW ur habit grew tremendously. U go girl.
I like how she is not a thick-haired natural not worried about getting her hair bone straight, thats where alot of thick-haired naturals end up getting heat damage, continuously running whatever hot heat source through the hair...thats appreciation should be , being able to have thick, luscious, hair even when straightened, something you really cant get with a relaxer...
I haven't straightened my hair in almost a year and ur video helped alot. Wasnt sure if I needed pressing comb or flat iron bc last time it dd t come out right; but I think I'm gonna try ur method. Gorgeous hair.
I have the Ion curling iron. I also bought it at Sally's. I have such deadly straight hair that I hate to death because it refuses to hold any curl at all when all I want is fiercely mad tons of curls. I bought the iron because I liked that it goes up to like 400something degrees, which I guess I found persuasive... plus pushing on the tank thing on the end of it seemed cool. Then when I curled my hair it fssst and smoked like a dragon, so then I was pretty certain it would rock. I pinned my curls up for a few hours afterward and lo! and behold! All falls sad and limp within a couple hours. So then I just chopped my hair off and slept in foam roller and voila! Very tight nice tight curls. I like to brush them through for very poofy hair. All too much work most of the time. Would save time if hair was naturally beautifully poofy like yours. When you clipped it all up and back your hair w/ the most beautiful I've ever seen! So elegant looking.
So, I flat ironed my daughter's Hair last week using your method and it reverted back marvelously! No heat damage. Just as curly as before. Definitely using this method from now on. Thanks!
What its called
I noticed that many of us black women are going natural .and most of us wear weaves for protective styles.
i turned into weaving instead of straightening
Yep I did to so it can protect my hair from the heat
***** :)
saja loka Omg!
I feel like all black people got them orange combs
well they don't 😒😕
Ikr I got one too
Lol I do
+sheparis2 😂😂😂
This is too fucking true.
she's really pretty
I use the kiehls straightening cream that also is a heat protectant and it really gets my hair Bone Straight. I just posted my bone straight flat iron routine
Black women should be able to wear their hair anyway they like; Its not up to anyone else. I'm natural btw.
When I was in cosmetology school we used your picture when talking about hair pressing and texture. Everyone was amazed at the outcome.
Amen
Your hair is beautiful curly and straight, but my fave was curly/natural and combed out! When you had it in the clips to straighten it, it looked pretty too, almost like a vintage look.. I know it wasn't on purpose lol but you and your hair are pretty..=]
yea thats true. She has beautiful hair.

JJ Bedrhi are you black no so stfu
OMG! I hate doing my hair!! I love the tutorial, but I hate dealing with doing my own hair...
I love my natural hair, but trying to do a hairstyle myself is a pain in the butt...If I had the money, I'd always pay someone to do it...
Beautiful
***** I found only one that works, and that's Suave Natural's Heat Protectant. It's really thick, so I only need like...barely a dime size, but it allows my hair to retain the volume that it has. Most heat protectants help flatten my hair, but it just makes it look really thin and lifeless.
Coconut oil for heat protector
Your natural hair is GORGEOUS. I'd kill for those curls
After like... 5 years of wearing braids my hair is now lower than my shoulders!
Ayanna М well.... yeah? I cut the front accidentally so the front of my hair is shorter than my back and middle hair :/
Wore braids for 3 years and it's AT my shoulders. Trying to get my hair at were yours is. Hopefully in 2 more years!
rawrrockiegurl Good luck!
***** Did you accidentally cut some hair off or something?
***** There was breakage? You probably cut your hair out or something... yeah you should stop wearing braids. I think it's too much stress for you.
AS A WHITE MAN I RESPECT YOU FOR BEING YOU,, IT'S YOUR OWN HAIR NO WEAVE ,LOOKS GOOD. PEOPLE OF ALL RACES SHOULD BE THEIR OWN PERSON .
Nice Capital letters but I like what you had to say
okay we never asked for your approval?
women in general wear weaves for different reasons ... don't let the weaves fool you, a lot of us black women have lots of hair and just because we have weave doesn't mean we're not being us... we're versatile and you're uneducated about our hair obviously...
Her curls make her more beautiful
idky why people who live in America (or whoever you are from i'm so sorry I lack knowledge) like to blow dry their hair. I just let it dry over night. because I dun wanna furthermore put heat on my hair. Plus if I blow dry I am pretty much sure I WILL BE TOO LAZY to continue straighting xD that shit sores my hair enough.
I don't know about you guys. But I agree with letting it dry overnight. If I blow dry it, it's just a big puffy mess
Rachael Aang, Most blow dryers can dry your hair with cold air. Doesn't have to be heat.
***** my hair doesn't get tangled when dry. My hair is very soft and it's in the medium range of hair. Once I blow dry with cool air or hot air, it's big and puffy. I shower, brush it, and twist it into a bun, and I wake up with beautiful hair. Simple as that
I understand.
Amy Ibrahim
She is sooo freaking gorgeous!! She doesn't even need makeup!
Tbh, I am too lazy for all of that! 😀 I'll probably try that some other time.
what
+Lilly N. Well that's stupid
+zena smith you alright, mate?
Lilly N. Tf you bitch
shes beautiful!!!
thank you, this really helped. my hair is a misxture of black, and white people hair cuz I'm mixed-race, so it isn't as curly as yours, but when I wash it and brush it, it gets very frizzy like yours. I will try this out, thanks :) and remember: whatever hair texture you have, it's beautiful because God blessed you with it :)
Not straightening for another year....?😳😳😳😳..wow thats a long time...!
I wish she could do my hair . My hair Is Like Black And White People Hair Together
my mom just got that blow dryer today, it works miracles! I'm in the process of transitioning right now and your videos really helped me with keeping myself from giving into not stressing over my hair.
love how your hair is clipped up
Her hair is gorgeous
There are women who's entire existence is based upon having opinions on issues and putting people down for being anything they think is detrimental to their opinions. I think this video is great for people who need to learn how to practice better heat management skills as well as newbies who are unsure where to start. Don't allow negative comments discourage you exploring different hairstyles(even involving heat) because with the right guidance you can better understand how to properly take care of your hair.
Didn't know that hair burn at 451 degrees. Thanks for that info.
Were all mixed. everybody is black.
You just can't
hide it, so yes, mixed black people normally look black lol because they're part black, and many have features of ancestors that don't originate from the tribes of africans that were in slaved here in america!
Oh and god don't be light skin oh lordy lordy masta gone get his will because
you ppeople start really believing that we think we're one of you!
I had issues with frizzy ends so I tried the comb technique and omg it works. The frizzy ends are straight. Really helpful.
Why so many ignorant comments ugh
does this work for men with kinky curly hair
I have gone to countless salons to get my daughter's hair done. The heat with her thick curly hair has been dreadful. The concept of stretching and drying even with a cool temperature preserves some heat, then I just flat ironed it. I loved this suggestion.
I will never complain about my hair again!!!
This was AWESOME!!
Im confused by the negative comments. She is pretty her and hair is pretty.
Seriously, how did you grow your hair out that long. How many times do you trim your hair?
these are some realllly good tips, thankyou and your very beautiful
Greetings from the Bahamas,
My daughters have natural hair and won't even consider straightening their hair. I found you by searching and I found it very enlightening and informative. Thank you!
Is it funny that, as a Black guy in real life, I almost didn't know what a Black woman's hair looks like in a natural state?
I see Black women with their hair straight so often, I almost forget that they have to straighten it.
I'm black but both of my parents are also native american and black so I just say im black but everyone is mixed there really isnt a pure race
So when I read your comment I was like, "oh, I guess people actually prefer it to be very straight." I bet she wanted it to come out the way it did :)
livelaughlove2016ju Likewise. I always felt like my hair looked too flat whenever it came out really straight.
I believe you meant to say "would have been more correct", as that is the "correct" english in this context. I am just nitpicking, lol.
If nobody knows this then they'r not very bright. Of course heat damages your hair way to state the obvious.
Just nitpicking ;D
"Proper" does fit. Try replacing it with "suitable" or "good" because it works in the same way. I know how to speak proper English, tyvm. ^^
Not everyone knows that. Many people think they actually can prevent *all* heat damage when they use heat on their hair. Thinking that *everyone* knows this just because you do and referring to them as "not bright" is pretty arrogant. And because I don't think in such a way, I like to add in anything that could possibly help, even if it's just one person. ^^
Magnimazing I've never met a person that doesn't know heat can't damage their hair.
***** Good for you. Nice to know you know every person in the world.
Ever consider some unknowing youngster could be viewing these videos?
Honestly You Are Beautiful😍💕And The Fact That You Do You And Inspire Others Despite All The Rude Comments Towards Women Of Color 💬💭And Their Hair Types💇💆The Trim Was Amazing💛💙More Women If Color Should Be Inspired To Go Natural 🚫💇 Many People Want Gorgeous Hair Like Yours❤️
Sincerely,
Milly❤️💛💚💙💜💗
What I don't understand is why some people think that their hair is not burning just because they have heat protector in their hair..... The product AND your hair is burning, but your hair just isn't burning as bad as it would without the product... It's the same concept as frying food in a pan/skillet. If you are trying to cook fish with no oil, butter, or anything, it will definitely burn. If you put oil in the pan, the fish will still cook, and even possibly burn, but it will not cook/burn as much as it would without oil.
Omg just stop being so negative✋
najlae zwina ummm what?? If you think being honest and realistic is negative than you can just continue to enjoy your little fantasy land, but REAL life doesn't work that way... sorry if you didn't like what I said, but I don't make up the rules here regarding heat and physics... and science for that matter... people these days... oh well... I still have hope in humanity I guess...
Lol DG lost
Very well explained .
Thank you
I mean I'm not black, I'm kind of a light caramel brownish color if you get what I mean but my hair is just horrible and my sister's is really long and curly wavish and nice and thin
thin hair isn't cute tbh.
+I Like foof you sound hurt 😊😊😊
+Zilah Harris it really isn`t. It`s flat, lifeless, boring and you can`t do much of anything with it.
+CupcakeCutie930 ur still a shade of black....wtf
+Ashley Enalien you ars aware she could be Hispanics. Black people aren't the race with out pale skin
I loved how your hair reverted back to your curls...awesome video!
Since its natural how does she get it to stay straight without frizz
Natural hair can be straight without frizz as long as you keep it healthy
Milaya Lamar lol ok I mean natural hair gets puffy with all hot weather like summer which I am in now..
I feel life this older generation doesn't get it why are you hating on another race like when I see these things on the news I'm shocked like why can't u hate someone for their actions but not the color of their skin this is why I'm proud to me apart of this generation that doesn't care about race but cares about someone for who they are so we can make a change
vixenmrb You are very wise and only truth !! Barak Atah continue to spread your words to the young an old awaken as many of our people as you can.
vixenmrb not all black people are like this.
I just love hair like all types but honestly curly is the most diverse and fun
her curls are so cute!!!!!!!!!!!! it's like boing boing !!! i wanna play with it! haha
why on earth would you straighten your hair? It is so exotic on its own, I love it.
I have a natural curl but it is not even or tidy, it always looks messy, (I have had people tell me to brush my hair.) I loved the flat iron tips. Your hair is great both ways.
Let me say the idea of attaching the comb to the flat iron is GENIUS. I used to always have to go over my hair with the flat iron so many time because my roots and ends would still be grizzly after one or two strokes.
can u fry bacon on the iron
mmmm.....bacon
+Sandalover11 yeah watch good mythical morning
890 jealous people
Really great video!
Did your hair tell you that?🙍🏼😳
"Heat protectants" are as real as a unicorn, folks.🦄 #heatisheat
+thequietaccount No
+JasmineSkyy yes, but I said burned/affected. Heat is heat. It changes things..and generally not for the better if used long term on hair, no matter how low the temp is set. Do your thing but folks should know when heat is involved there's really no such thing as "no heat damage".
+thequietaccount the steam was coming out of the iron before she started
+Sequoia C. 😂😂😂😂😂
Completely different situations
Lol lets try to find a cure to grow black women hair.
Stop getting relaxers
Zhiara Price pur hair grows the same as anyone else. we just don't use the correct method to retain length and it appears to grow slow BC of the tight coils.
everyone in my family works too much to help me with my hair like i dont even know how to wrap my hair correctly so yeah im very grateful for videos like this thank you
At 4:39 u did a beautiful pose.
yes she looked like a doll😍
Chaunte Blanch Yeah, She's beautiful.
+Joshua Bellamy What you doing looking at hair videos? LOL She is naturally pretty.
Lol
Lol Dorothy Baskin Just cuz imma guy don't mean I don't have hair lol... Somehow I got here... :-P
This was great. I really appreciate your effort in putting these videos together. I've always wanted to straighten my hair healthily, but have never felt confident enough to do so. Again: thanks.
Your method using the comb and flat iron at the same time is genius!
U have beautiful hair! Im natural now for 7 months, the front of my hair is heat damaged that its almost straight smh but regardless my hair has grown so much and healthier than it has ever since ive stopped using that creamy crack!! Thanks for this tutorial!
I been natrual for 2 years now. hair is already past my shoulders. i flat iron my hair for the first time today just to get a trim. and i love my hair. and i also used the same flat iron you have bought it last year and finaly desided to use it. love it.
Nobody's hair is going to be completely perfect ppl. Your hair looks wonderful mam
I love that you still have a brush for applying relaxers. Hahaha, your hair is gorgeous.
Doing some research for a novel I'm writing, brought me to your video. Incredibly informative and it's these little details that bring characters in stories to life, so thank you. I have to say though, you look gorgeous with both straight and curly hair.
It's just so fluffy looking and, when black/mixed kids have their hair in those little pigtail bun things, it absolutely adorable! :D
OMG I HAVE BEEN ABUSING MY HAIR FOR DECADS I WONDER WHY AM LOSING MORE HAIR THAXS GIRL !!!
damn, the texture of her hair when she's done washing! I love it!!!!
You are gorgeous and your hair just complements your beauty.
why can't there be more women like this-- so natural i love it
Kelly thanks for your response.
Your curly hair is so unbelievably beautiful! So jealous!
im so happy you said that on straitening video, it really gets people to believe what it is that you are saying.
Your natural hair is so beautiful! It's also lovely flat ironed.
this video was very helpful to me because i have an event to go to this weekend and i have not used heat on my hair for one year , besides one time to stretch it for braiding .
Love this video!!!! Question: Can you do a makeup tutorial for this bronze natural look!!!! Plzzzz
using a comb with the flat iron is so smart! I'm going be doing that 4 now on 💗
Than you for sharing about the flat iron. I did not know that Sally's Beauty Supply sold this iron. It seems like a great investment. Thanks again.
Thanks, I have natural hair with tight springy curls and your process worked fine for me. I will be looking around for more hair care.
When I read NO DAMAGE, I made sure I watched this! LOL, thanks for posting this.
One of THE BEST DECISIONS I've made thus far, is going natural, and I have "NO REGRETS"...
don't be, love your honesty. Your precious.
