B.yu Toprock Tutorial Pt.1 (Guide Only)

- In Part one i will be only identifying the type of steps that i will be trying to teach in part 2
Hence Part one should only be used to refer to as a guide
this video should show what each steps look like from front, side and back
BTW THIS TUTORIAL WILL ALREADY ASSUME YOU KNOW THE BASIC STEPS
and hence work on more DETAILED steps
REPEAT..PART 2 WILL BE THE HOW TO, AND PART 1 IS THE GUIDE
So refer to this, if you are not sure on how it looks again

Wow i remember watching this top rock tutorial when I was like 15, I’m now 25. This video only had like 1k views, never expected to reach millions views, and I never thought he became a kpop star. Man good times T_T thank you bboy byu for inspiration and memories

Crazy. I remember watching this like my sophomore year in high school. Now 28 and missing those bboy days. Bboy b.yu was a major part of me learning back then. I’ll always cherish these videos.

One of the first youtube videos that got me into breaking way back 2009.. fast forward 2022 im now a local promoter throwing jams year after year just to sustain the breaking scene in our small city. Still the one and only standard that I always go back to when in it comes to toprocking.

I had stopped breaking for a good while and always thought about picking up top rocks because I was such a power head. This was one of the first videos I saw that made actual sense to me with out the verbal banter and all the physical examples. A year back into breaking I still come back to reference this tutorial. Thanks for the time you gave to teach and record this video thanks for the reigniting of that familiarity I am achieving and gaining once again. Much love and respect.
I remember seeing this video a long time and learning how to toprock from it.
It was really Byu's toprock that got me into dance, and it was also truly the catalyst of my focus on style rather than power .
Now when people look at my toprock, they can its origins, I still always comeback and watch this every now and then, and i still get impressed.
Btw great job in debuting, I was a fan of his bboy and now im a fan of his kpop
I remember watching this when I was 10 and loving it, I found top rock dancing right around 8 and remember this video, been looking for it for 3 years and finally found it again.

so awesome that barom has now become part of k-pop's C-CLOWN! he can thank his time and effort he has put into making these videos to convince yedang to accept him. i know i was not one of his subscribers before he debuted, but it's awesome to find his channel and see that he has come so far. eric nam is another example of an ordinary boy earning success through youtube. his song covers made him an amazing solo artist in the k-pop industry. it's just so awesome.

Most other top-rockers don't have the rhythm for some reason, liike yea they got great moves but they can't sync their moves up to the beat for SHIT, this guy gets it man!

Can anyone help make a tutorial on the battle rock? I've been searching left and right on RUclips and can't find anything but bboy battles. I heard that battle rock can be called the aggressive version of the Indian Step? Please help.
It's also known as power step, it's mainly the toprock used to get you ready for power moves

to anyone wanting to learn toprock; words of advice passed on from and to many bboys: for good toprock, you just need to learn the basic steps and nothing fancy, just the flow and "hops" in them. everything else, to make it look nice like byu's or anyone else's is all about style. no one should be able to fully teach toprock; just the basics of it. style is something you have to learn on your own and no one can teach you. this guy byu here, has major style which is why his toprock's so nice

I have to admit, I never used to be that much of a dancer, that is until I joined a dance club when I got into university, and found out that dance was probably the one talent I had locked away deep inside myself but I never discovered it. Now after seeing bboy.byu and following his tutorials, I actually surprisingly learnt them and I am actually kinda good at it if I say so myself. Now everyone might think of me as a bboy.byu wannabe but I have to say, that dance is who I am.
Bboy b.yu is a real inspiration and I hope to meet him some day. Respect from the Netherlands!
One advise is give to people is that wen yu toprock, think of a feather, its movement is nice and goes with a flow. With that, dance as lightly as your feet will let you, on the soles of your feet. Then yu will feel more like toprocking like byu
